Yeah, that is annoying. That is exactly why I'm more into Space Fantasy than Science fiction. However, even the most fantastic need a bit of realism, or it gets silly.

Yeah see, I think that the improvements of the R8 and R9 droids is interesting when compared to R2s or R7s, but I'd be annoyed if they stuck that in a book when theyre about to like fight a space battle.
I mean if it was a sentence or so "The R8 droids had a much better calculation radius then the R7 series, making it easier for Mara to find her destination in the E-Wing." I wouldn't care, but certain books (*coughlucenocough*) stick like 20 pgs of description.
Bottom line: Techno info- good in sourcebooks like Essential Droids.

In the one Luceno book I've read, I didn't have much of a problem with that. Which one are you thinking of?

He spent so much time describing the women's hair and clothes and stuff, along with other drivel, that i couldn't advance through the book! I finally resorted to using Wikipedia to get the basic plot points, sans crap.

Was it a Wheel of Time book? 'Cause if it was, I wouldn't be surprised.

Bob Salvatore? The guy that wrote the first book of a series that would redefine Star Wars without having read any other Star Wars material?

The last time we say the Solo kids, they were in their early teens. Suddenly they were these philosophical kids that were totally OOC.
