Just when he thought finding his elusive son was as hopeless a feat as it always was, Skylark's comment sent Anafiel in a rigid frenzy. His heart leapt in his chest, and he spun around to look the child dead in the eyes. He crouched and seized her, gently but eagerly, by her shoulders.
"Skylark... You're certain?"
His thoughts were racing too fast for comprehension.
"Ah... Um... He's a bit older than you and... ah... White fur. Pure white fur. Eyes... deep, deep violet eyes..."
He knew his babbling wasn't helping in the least, and he felt himself quickly slipping away from his newfound hope.
Attar of rose and amber, lingering in the air...
...of course.
Nammah.
That was it.
Anafiel cursed his mindlessness.
"He has a marque on his back... A birch tree, looming over a river. From his neck to his tail, dear-heart... Please, have you seen him?"
Ah, Elua.
He needed to find Alcuin... He'd promised Rolande he'd keep a watchful eye over him and...
...guilt.
Anafiel was coming to find that he wasn't so great at keeping promises.

[OoC]It's all kosher, babydoll.

*w* You mean it? THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU! I LOVE YOU, LII-SAN! :'D[/OoC]

The young pup was startled by Anafiel's sudden enthsiastic change of demeanor, her eyes looking up to her mother in apprehension. Should she just go along with it, or just be flat-out scared?

Firefly, while concerned over his loss of composure, did not fret as much as her daughter did. She empathized with his situation perfectly: if Skylark were to up and disappear one day she would feel the exact same desperation that was eating at his mind. So it came as no shock to her when he pried so eagerly for information. She would have done the same, had she been in his shoes. She gave the pup a small, warm smile. 'It's okay, Sky,' the elder said quietly, using the pet name she saved for times when she needed to calm down the small girl fast.

It seemed to do the trick: Skylark instantly relaxed in the beta wolf's grip as she turned back to face him. 'The last time I saw him was when we were playing in the spring about two weeks ago,' she began. 'If you're looking for him to be in a familiar place, then that's where you should start.'

(( OoC : Aww, I love you too. X'D ))
(( Oh, and, uh... Weekdays are weird at rehab, and we actually gotta do s**t, so I won't be able to be on much at all. X| ))
(( Once I get home, though, I'll be all up in this b***h. ))
(( SO, in short, forgive my absence. ><; ))

Anafiel sighed heavily in relief, his head dropping low. He released Skylark's shoulders.
So they knew eachother... they played together.
It was a difficult image to conjure, Alcuin actually letting loose and playing with another pup.
Maybe he does let loose... when I'm not around.
Anafiel's biggest flaw was definately his unrelenting, nagging, low self-esteem.
He was convinced that he might well have been the worst father on the face of the earth, adopted or not. He had little doubts that Alcuin loved him nontheless, but...
...he feared failing Rolande.
He looked up to again hunt for reassurance in Firefly's eyes.
Somehow he always got the strangest feeling that she could read his thoughts and sift through his emotions as easily as if they were written on parchment.
She made him feel so young... and not because of her elderly status.
He repressed another sigh, chewing thoughtfully on the inside of his cheek.
"Thank you, Skylark. Helpful information, indeed."
He smiled at her, his trademarked smile that charmed the masses, hoping to ease whatever tension still lingered in the air.
"If you've mentioned the spring I'm thinking of, it's not far from your blackberry clearing," he inferred as pushed on his knees to help him rise. "Perhaps I might stumble upon him..."
Anafiel made no motion to leave, as he really was in no big hurry. Alcuin had a knack for running off as he pleased, and he'd learned to take care of himself rather well. As former nomads, Alcuin and Anafiel both were rather used to doing things themselves and avoiding trouble. He trusted the pup enough, as long as he knew he was still in the pack's territory.

Theo woke suddenly at a strange scent in the air. Grumbling, he got up and stalked over to look over the other edge of the rock once more. He saw the same group of people, still talking, and no one new had come. It didn't seem as though Anafiel would be done soon, and Theo was bored out of his dog-shaped skull. He turned once more into a human and walked down the path once more, feeling that these events had ended up being a gigantic waste of time. He passed the assembled group awkwardly, silently, though not angrily.
Theo's hair was now messed up, and this gave him a sexier look than his usual neatly-brushed-down style. His eyes were a little sleepier, and his voice, if he had choosen to talk, was lower than his usual melodic norm.

Just as he'd done nearly every day since he'd settled in the Na'arinheim, Anafiel Dalaunay made his way gracefully up his favorite mountain path. He trod lightly, with his chin humbly tilted downward. Silken threads of his ginger hair came together and hung like thin, wispy curtains about his face. His eyes, usually glimmering intensely in sync with his innermost thoughts, were downcast and gentle. He walked in utmost silence, only the soft chiming of his jewelry betraying his presence.
This daily journey was most sacred to him.
The trail on which he traveled was rimmed with naught else but tall, waist-length grasses and skinny trees. Though it might've seemed barren and boring to him at some point in time, he'd since learned to appreciate the beauty within its simplicity. The grasses tickled his legs and caught at his skirt as he passed. He smiled, liking to think that the earth was teasing him like a good-natured friend.
Who knows? Perhaps it was.
Anafiel's procession up the mountain took some time (it always did), but he finally reached his destination. He felt his feet leave the soft soil and settle on cold stone, and allowed himself to look up for the first time since he began his walk.
His sanctuary awaited him.
When he'd found it months ago, he'd assumed the stone flooring on which he stood had once been a sort of shrine from ages long passed. The floor was cracked in places, and it looked like there could have been pillars at its four corners. Whatever it had been, or even if it was just a convenient placement of stone, it had a holy feel to it... which was just what Anafiel was looking for. He'd long since made it his own private sanctuary, placing stone effigies of his gods here and there. He came here every day to pray, to meditate, and to listen.
He'd thought about it thouroughly on the way up, and Anafiel knew just who he'd be offering prayers to this morning.
First, he made his way toward a stone effigy of Blessed Elua, the foremost of his gods. It was a lovely little statue, intricately and lovingly crafted. Everything from the feathers of Elua's wings to the leaves and flowers woven in his flowing hair was accented with the utmost detail. His scion knelt graciously before Him, his skirt pooling in a mess of color beneath him. Anafiel had brought with him a leather satchel, and tenderly removed from it an incense of mistletoe and myrrh. There was a bowl waiting at Blessed Elua's feet, and Anafiel poured the incense therein, lighting it swiftly and professionally with his miniature fire-striking kit. The oil lit up in a burst of fragrance. Anafiel smiled, and proceeded to bow his head and pray.
To Elua, he prayed for peace and tranquility, such as he did every day. Simple, silent prayers, yet Anafiel lingered with his head low for quite some time. He was meditative, basking in his god's presence, sighing inwardly at the peace that flooded him.
But he had other duties this morning, and he'd not spend all his time with Blessed Elua.
He rose, and made his way toward another diety. This one was female. She was scantily clad in filmy robes and had a more than sensual look to her. As provocative a figure she was, she delicately held a small dove in her cupped hands.
Naamah. For her, Anafiel offered an incense of amber and attar of rose. Before his hair could hide his face as he bowed, one could've caught a wry grin twisting his pinkish lips.
To her, he prayed for love. He asked that she might wash him with an aura of desirability, so that he might find someone. Soon. He was tiring of his lonely lifestyle and, as seldom as he prayed to his goddess Naamah, he was certain she wouldn't refuse him.
For good measure, he kept his head bowed low and his thoughts meditative. He had time to spend, and he could think of no better way to spend it than under the watchful, compassionate eyes of his gods.
He sat. And sat. And sat.
Praying.
Meditating.
Smoky tendrils of incense snaked toward the sun as midday approached.
Anafiel found himself hoping someone would be curious enough to follow the scent.
And why not?
Perhaps it'd be the very answer to his prayers.

Ka sniffed the air and Turned around running back into the forest and towards the scent of the humans. The humans knew he was coming and was ready for any thing but what Ka intended to do.

((A lot of things it depends on who your RPing with. My character just got the scent of humans so he's going to check it out.))
Ka sped forward the scent was getting stranger. He heard the c**k of a gun and leapt into the air as a bullet shot under him. Missing him completly. He landed on the ground and the ground shook. When it settled Ka was right within their range. He had them until a snap and a crunch sounded and the humans smiled as Ka let out a loud howl of pain. His paw was caught in a bear claw trap. The hunter took aim and fired blood splattered on the ground a new hole in Ka's head. The hunter removed the wolf's paw from the trap and took the trap leaving Ka on the ground.

A few minutes later Ka rose and started towards the flower meadow.

Alex padded along, every once in a while checking to see if Jasmine was still behind her. She stopped adn sat down to wait.

Jasmine looked to Alex before taking in the lovely view of the path. She turned to Alex and glanced over to her before stopping, "do you like this place...this pack's Territory".

Seleinis wandering around the mountain for a short period, he could see darken clouds in the already dark Dusk skies over the Ocean.

"A storm is brewing." He Said to himself has he turned his head around and sniffed the air.

being has high up has he was the wind was blowing madly, the wind carrying hail like rain towards the mountain. His long fur defying the laws of gravity has he turned his entire body and continued the short walk left to the tip of the mountain where he sat down near the edge of the mountain and looked around, His eyes seeing more activity in the lands below. His eyes seeing every wolves in the Open for Miles away from the mountain. The strong winds blowing there scent all towards his self.

"Activity, Maybe I should Return to the wolves below tomorrow." He Though to himself has he looked up into the sky Directly above, Cloudless and red.

Turning away from the Ledge Seleinis took a couple steps forward and under an old lightning burnt pin tree and laid down underneath it, His head on his front paws and his eyes looking towards the worn out path.

The soft sounds of paws walking up the beaten path of the mountain could be heard as a black wolf made her way upwards. Her movements seemed robot like as her head hung low. She didn't seem like she had a set destination. Nor did she seem like she had any drive. Her ears swiveled right hearing a rustle as her head lifted slowly towards the sound.
A bunny had gotten snagged on something and now sat frozen staring at her it's foot caught. Hallow eyes stared back at the frighten little creature. Walking over the female wolf lowered her head and bit what held the little rabbit down the same hallow eyes watching it as it scampered off the sounds of her stomach growling falling on deaf ears.
Turning back to the path she continued the same as before just fallowing the trail her mind silent as she made her way up the mountain. Almost reaching the top she raised her head seeing another wolf laying underneath a burnt tree. Hallow eyes lingered for a moment before she turned deciding to find another path, she would even make her own if necessary.

Catching the scent and soon after hearing the foot steps of the other wolf, Seleinis stood up and saw her. Seeing her looking at him and then walking away.

"Hmm..." He grunted taking steps towards the other wolf, longer more silent steps, clearing the distance between them.

The wind blowing his scent down towards the Female but Seleinis didn't change course, He wasn't after her after all. He was just curious. Nobody had been up the mountain in months, And the only wolves he had seen in over a year was an old friend, and two new strangers he had never met before. Not counting this wolf.

"Hello?" He said simply, in a low deep voice. His foot steps getting louder, has he started to walk in a slightly quicker pace.

The young female suddenly stopped her nose in the air as she smelled the wind carrying the sent of the male from behind her. Her ears swiveled back listening if he changed courses. She let out a small breath she didn't know she was holding hearing him heading straight towards her, this told her that he wasn't after her.
Slowing her pace down then finally to a stop she turned around her glassy blue eyes staring him down curiously. Hearing him speak to her she took a small step back being cautious of this stranger. He didn't seem like he had any intention of hurting her but you never know what anyone going to do.
"Hello." She replied her voice quiet and timid as her head cocked to the side, this was the first time anyone had really spoken to her. Most wolves just left her alone as she traveled.
Sitting down but still staying on alert she watched the other wolf. "I'm sorry if I woke you from you sleep.. I was lost in thought so I didn't notice that I was walking loudly." Her voice seemed to stay about the same but there was a little more life to it. She felt her hairs stand on end when a cool wind past over them. Shaking her head she stared back at the male before her waiting to see if he would say anything.
