Walt comes around and pushes the guy away from her. "Hey man. Your scaring her. She didn't do anything wrong. She's one of us anyway. So back off." He doesn't face her. He turns back around the corner and goes back into the donut shop.

"... One of..." What is this?"Wh-who are you?" Brooke shuddered against the brick behind her. She tried to hold in her tears, but it was useless. "I-I don't know what's happening..."

He came back outside and walked up to them. "Maybe I should clarify. We are all children of Gods. From different places. Different races. But still, born from Gods." He looks around. "Maybe this isn't the best place to discuss it."

sasuke spun around as something hit the wall next to them. "we gotta go......" he looked at the girl. "get to the van....i'll hold whoever this guy off for you...."

[Edited] Brooke blinked her bleary eyes and accepted Walt's offer. She clambered into the van. Brooke clasped her arms around her midsection. Suddenly she was urged to check her pockets. Her spool remained, a bit tangled at an end, but it seemed her phone was missing. She thought better than to accuse the man, but decided an off-handed comment might lead her. "I'm supposed to call my mom." The excuse was poor, but it should suffice.

sasuke saw a phone on the ground and tossed it to her.. he shot a flame at the attacker and ran into the van. as he ran something hit his back. he passed out in the van, his back was bleeding.

Brooke turned to Walt. "Why is this happening?" After a brief explanation, she felt a familiar tinging. Her temples ached slightly as she tapped into her mother's wisdom... Memories filled her mind. The burning acidity of rage, an icy paralysis of fear, pangs of heart break and loss...

"look after him. I need to do something." He took her phone. He opened it up. "This one is a bit more complex." He started to work with the wires in the phone trying to find the tracker.

"But-- You can't-- I don't even--" Failing at complete sentences left the van and ran to the aid of this man. Noting the gash on his back she knelt beside him and said, "You have to trust me." Pulling a needle from the spool, she threaded it and began to stitch his wound shut. She worked meticulously, tugging each stitch tight.
