[EVENT] Hide and seek - Open!

[Mogami]

Nothing. It was a strange thing that the missing cubs were still… well, missing. Jazi climbed down a tree and sat down on one of the lowest branches, examining his surroundings in silence. There were many leopards around him and some seemed to be rogues just like him, gathered in the same location out of sheer desire to help. Unless they had ulterior motives that Jazi couldn’t even imagine, they were most likely a largest group of good-natured and helpful felines he’d ever seen. Not a bad place to be, he supposed.

And still, no cubs. Jazi’s eyes narrowed as he watching everything around him and failed to find anything remotely similar to a little hidden leopard.

Kalua, the wild boar, hurried over to the other side. Maybe she was just searching on the wrong side. She stuck her nose into the grass, sniffing it. Then looked around. No cub here. She frowned. These little things were very hard to find. She wondered how much exactly they were looking for too.

Macaria headed toward another spot. This spot he hadn't really looked at much. He thought he heard something at first, but figured it must have been the wind. As he looked he thought hard about the cubs. He wanted them safe more than anything. If any were hurt he would probably panic and for him panicing wasn't good. Staying calm and level headed was. He limped around looking in different areas.

Nope, nothing. "Dumb luck is dumb." Her brow furrowed and she poked around more. Searchers came and went, but she kept on looking. Instead of analyzing too much what she was doing, she let her eyes and nose guide her. Maybe she was walking past cubs without knowing it! She'd check every place twice. Just in case.

Kalua, the wild boar, ran all over the place now. She eventually became so disoriented that she ended up by where she started. She snorted. Of course there was no cub here. She already searched this area. She shook her head at her silliness. Now was not the time to be stupid. There were cubs that needed to be found.

Lured by sounds of desperation the pale figure blended well into his atmosphere as he stalked the others, trying to discover the source of the commotion. Curved ears swiveled every which way, catching clips of conversation either to themselves or to each other for those that chose to hunt in pairs or groups. They seemed to be searching for... some missing cubs?

Oh god. How delicious.

The grin that formed behind the stained, white jaws that encased his muzzle contained little more than pure malevolence. If he could find them first, there was all sorts of fun to be had, that much was for certain.

So far, Jazi had had no luck. He climbed down from the tree and started walking again, speaking to the rocks and grass and shadows to see if anything jumped forward. His ears swiveled in every direction searching for any sound that might betray the cubs’ location. And he worried. With so many leopards actively searching for the little ones, he feared the cubs were either being playful and staying hidden – which he doubted for the calls seemed to be growing more concerned all around him – or they were injured… or worse. Jazi would rather avoid such an unpleasant outcome, of course but his hopes and opinions were not usually taken into consideration by the sometimes harsh reality of life. He grew more desperate in his search, trying to cover the territory quickly while he kept calling out to the cubs with words of reassurance.

Kalua sat down for a bit, thinking on what she had missed. The middle! She had searched both ends but not the middle. Excitedly, she sniffed around. Nothing here too. Where could those cubs be?

His leg was killing him. He let himself lie down again. It would be bad if he got too hurt from this. He did not want to seriously injure himself while looking. If he was too hurt someone might have to carry him back to the temple. He shuttered at the idea. He preferred to do things be himself and not rely on others. Once he was rested enough he got up and looked around some more. He had to hand it to the cubs. This was probably the best game of hide and seek the pride had ever had.

The day was wearing on. Faces had left, new ones had come, they'd gone, others came... Finally, Shakuntala collapsed, putting her paws over her face. "Oh, it's becoming USELESS! They REFUSE to be found! What if they're not even HERE!?" She curled up into a ball, trembling all over. Woe was her, and nobody would easily change her mind, unless the cubs were found.

((As a note, if this reaches 20 pages, I'll just start randomizing pages and posts in a sort of raffle... xd ;; These cubs are STUBBORN!))

With both eyes tightly shut and the rucus of the creatures below her the golden bird settled sown for an afternoon nap, undoubtedly she would be woken if any cubs were actually recovered but until then she would just take a little nap.

Kalua decided to take on a new tactic. Maybe she could scare one out of hiding. Surely a cub would be scared of a big pig like herself. So she faced in a random direction and charged into the bushes. Unfortunately, she wasn't that careful while charging and tripped on something. Was it a cub? No, just a rock. Guess that tactic was useless.

'Did you ever think the cubs don't want to be found?' his dark side said as he searched a bush for the cubs. 'I mean they have been missing this long, maybe they hate living at the temple. Maybe they would prefer the rogue lands to it.'

Macaria couldn't imagine anyone wanting to live anywhere else, than again he was born there. As far as he knew these cubs were not. 'What do you think I should do?' he asked his darker side. It was something terrible to do, but at this point he could use all the help he could get.

He heard a chuckle in his head. 'Let me take control. I'll find the cubs for you.' He hesitated before denying it again. As the day went on that offer was becoming more and more tempting.

It was almost overwhelming, the amount of stimuli that swelled all around the hunter. Slithering beneath uplifted roots and around wide trunks from behind which he could hardly be seen, Grudge was trying to decide where he should go and who he should attempt to attack. Was it worth it to find the cubs before the others did? A part of him wondered why he would waste his time with bite-sized morsels when he could attack full grown leopards so engrossed in their task that they would make for much easier targets.

Of course, he wasn't exactly in the best shape for a full on fight with an adult. Maybe locating the cubs would be a more suiting way to use his time after all.

Kalua was starting to get tired. She was not built for finding leopard cubs. Leopards were masters at hiding. Clearly these cubs were some rank higher than master in hiding since the other leopards had yet to find them. That made her feel a bit better as she searched another spot. If a leopard couldn't find one, it wasn't so bad that a boar couldn't find one.
