Some people have all of the luck. Not Taylor Childe, however. From a young age Taylor had a habit of getting into trouble. Usually it was the simple, mischievous attitude prevalent in children, but one day his antics indirectly resulted in the death of his parents. Born among the Sun Warriors Mei spent her childhood there, learning much about the roots of fire bending and living with fire as life affirming energy. To the dismay of her parents the girl wanted more out of life, she'd heard stories from an old traveler about many fantastic places found in the outside world. Massive cities, academies of bending, music ships. So many wonderful things. Still in her early teens she set out to see the world the man had spoken of. Within the fire nation she sought out more training but languished under master after master as her old world cultural values clashed with modern thinking. Soon she found herself without a teacher, without a home, and all alone. For a about a year she spiraled downward until chance brought her across a new teacher.

This man had trained with the old man she'd known as a child and seemed more understanding of how to train her than previous masters. For years she studied under him and even learned to generate lightning. Now in her twenties she had come to learn all she could under her teacher. There was just one problem though, she yearned for more just as she had among her people while still a child. The old man had also spoken of spirits an entire world beyond their own but this teacher had no such insights, no such fanciful connections to a spirit realm. He had become lost to a mad obsession, one in which he wanted Mei to become his deceased wife. They fought periodically even while training together as their relationship became strained due to him trying to change her personality. Eventually one such argument brought them to blows in a battle at the Forgotten Valley when it was revealed that he wanted to force her to adopt his wife's face. That battle ended with her master's death.

Distraught bytheir falling out, taking another's life, and the trauma of the ordeal she'd remain within the valley for three years. Meditating alone and practicing in isolation save for the occasional lost soul there to die she remained until she unlocked the door to a new style. Now twenty five she found herself without direction and for the first time in her life was okay with it. She felt at peace with the world, connected even. Eventually she found herself in the capital of the Fire Nation where she entered a tournament based on the traditional Agni Kai. During this tournament she demonstrated to a stunned crowd her ability to actually manipulate lightning. Even though she handily defeated her opponent the traditionalist judges ruled her as disqualified. Still the news of such a person spread quickly as she garnered national attention as the first true lightning bender. Mei's fame however, wasn't cemented until she averted an angry spirit's attack at Ember Island. People were enamored with this girl who had not only developed lightning bending further but who became known as a fire bender capable of pacifying a spirit through bending.

Dubbed the "Lightning Queen" by the press she soon found herself regarded as a master and discovered that she was now being sought out by people who wished to learn from her. Most were turned away as the vast majority of them lacked to ability to advance beyond simply generating lightning. Having grown tired of stuffy Fire nation nobles yelling at her when their sons or daughters failed to learn to her skills in the pursuit of fame. She washed up in Republic City, where many benders still sought training from her but at least they came from different walks of life and had stories to share. Now at thirty eight years old her reputation is a mixed one but her skills are still well known.

Growing up, Soha wasn't very good at bending, and wasn't allowed to take bending classes since he was surely to flunk anyway. His parents sadly didn't know how to water bend so they didn't teach him. After wandering off one day he found himself greeted by a blue like penguin type animal. After observing it for awhile he was hit by a body of water as he attempted to get closer. The penguin had water bended.... Soha was amazed and attempted to copy the penguin but it didn't work at first. But after constantly practicing it, he was able to splash the penguin right back.

Months would go by as Soha trained himself in the art of water bending learning from the penguin, after following the penguin around, he realized how smart it was, and how it used water bending to make its everyday life easier. Climbing hills, catching food, warding off predators. Soon enough after a few years of passing and sneaking away to learn and play with the penguin. He would return home one night to notice his father had left with other warriors to stop a threat that was said to be coming soon. Reports of a water bending Kraken they called it, and a large serpent like creature were heading towards them. The warriors of the village attempted to go and stop them....but they never returned. After a few days, Soha and his mother assumed the worst. The very next day, during a massive storm, lightning raging, rain dropping fast, and thunder clashing in the sky. Reports came in again saying the beast were upon them. Everyone started to evacuate but Soha wanted revenge for his father, and he knew they weren't going to make it out of there alive if someone didn't do something quick. As his mother started to pack everything, the village in chao's, his mother soon realized that Soha had left and was no where to be found.

Surfing across the ocean, Soha surfed the massive waves, and found himself right where he needed to be. Freezing a good portion of the water around him. He saw the two hundred foot kraken coming for him as it started to slowly rise from the water. Before Soha could think of a plan, the ice below him would erupt into the sky by the 300 foot serpent blasting through from below causing Soha to fly into the air. The battle between the two beast and the lone water bender was about to being.

Years went by after that, Soha now being 25, he was known as The King of the Ocean, or his famous name, Trident. Those who wish to know about fight visit the site now these days where the massive battle took place. The place where Soha single handily took on two dangerous creatures who were able to water bend themselves and won the fight. "Home Of The Frozen" was its name. When visiting this sight, you would notice a giant glacier like structure that went for a least a mile in all directions. Those who visited the Glacier would make there way to the center to find where the massive battle took place. Within the glacier rested the two beast, frozen in time to never be awoken again.

Niyok is the child of two Southern Water Tribe natives, both of whom came to Republic City under the promise of a better life. Their father worked in a factory assembling parts for the various machines that cropped up around the city, and their mother worked at a food cart. They didn't have much money, but it was enough to get by. When Niyok was six, their father died in a factory accident and, with her income nearly cut in half, Niyok's mother was left to pick up the pieces. She began working a second job to care for Niyok. Niyok's mother bounced from job to job for years, and eventually had to pull a loan from a local shark. It was a fix for sure, but only a temporary one, for it wasn't too long after that that the Triads came looking for their money. They threatened violence if Niyok's mother was unable to pay, but Niyok had another idea. The Triad was always looking for some extra muscle to throw around, and while Niyok wasn't a bender, they were one hell of a scrapper. Eventually, the debt was paid off, but many a job well done landed Niyok a job offer. They wanted to turn it down, but the money was too good. Born to two farmers, young Lycan was an aggressive child, meanwhile his brother who was eldest by 3 years was more passive. Both still did do tricks and would still from the town folk due to their money crisis. Eventually they would began hanging out in the woods. They loved playing in there because they would always find interesting things. Eventually they would find a scroll which led to a treasure cave, hidden on a distant walk. The brothers headed back home and would hide this in their home, but they weren't the only ones returning that night. Around midnight, Lycan and his brother would be awoken to the sound of struggling, and Lycan and his brother would sneak out of their room and peak around a corner to see a group of men assaulting their father. These men were armed and shouting vicious swears at him, eventually they were fed up and were about to strike the defenseless man until Lycan ran out with a scroll. There was something strange about it but it wasn't visible at the time. The leader thanked Lycan, turning as if he was going to leave but would spin back into it with a fast reverse spin kick. It hit Lycan in the neck and sent him flying against the wall. Lycan seemed as if his neck had snapped in the kick but it didn't Lycan was sent into shock and couldn't move but witnessed everything. His father was stabbed 5 times leaving him dead, the pool of blood flowed over to Lycan and would crash against his face as he would then witness the rape and torture of his mother. His brother would only be stabbed once but it didn't kill him. After this event the house would be set ablaze as the bandits rode out. Lycans brother crawled over to him in an attempt to protect him from the burning house as bother would pass out. Lycan would awake in a cave next to his brother, who had his torso wrapped with apparently clean bandages. A cloaked and hooded man sat feet from the bed fixing up what he could only guess to be medicine. Soon Lycan would pass out again and wake up, this time he was better, and so was his brother. The man was a traveling monk who happened to pass by the burning house and saved the two. He also had saved another object which appeared to be a scroll. Lycan had switched out the real scroll with a fake. It didn't matter as the scroll was partially burned and Lycan threw it in the garbage. The man would announce that he would take the two under his wing and train them to become strong fighters. Years later at the age of 14 and 17, Lycan and his brother were told to meditate in a mountain for a period of time and train to try and increase their strength on their own.which they would do for another year until it was revealed that upon that mountain, the killers of their parents resided. While Lycans brother denied to have any affiliation with them, Lycan stormed the small pub attacking the old men. He saved the one that murdered his father for last, he defeated him, though being a sore loser, he threw a volitile mixture which Lycan dodged causing it to hit the wall. Lycan left out without helping them. He didn't murder them, but he didn't save them. Walking away from the small lone building, his brother would witness this and question what did he do. He merely just answered with one sentence. "I didn't kill them, their foolish ideas did." with that, he left his brother and the mountain.
