Mareep didn't feel up for moving at all, resulting in her getting hit by the rushing assault. She really couldn't take this poison, but she had enough for maybe one attack. If Aden could get her to do that much, he thought, it'd buy enough time to get someone else sent out and recall her. And maybe delay things long enough to make sure she got better.

"Mareep, just buy a little time here. Let out what you've got built up, keep Golbat busy until I can switch you out, okay?" Aden called. Mareep was able to will herself enough to obey and discharge everything she had stored up, but only to make sure Golbat didn't try anything. In the meantime, another Pokeball was readied.

During all the commotion, Aden quickly recalled Mareep for her safety. "Here, let me keep on this. Nidoran!" He called, tossing the other ball he was holding to send Nidoran out. "Now, let's see... there's us, then you. Then my Geodude's still exchanging hellos with your friend. Ball's on your court." He spoke up.

"Dude." And Geodude, apparently, was still set on being in this guy's way. Still ready in case of an attack.

The idea of taking that ball later was there, but Aden was still cautious. He had done enough right here. "They... kinda run easy. Hey, you alright over there?" He asked, looking over to the kid and his Quilava. He didn't recall Nidoran or Geodude for now, just in case something else came around.

"It's... not dyed." Aden said, and felt a little awkward for doing so. There wasn't a right way with something like that. Say the hair's dyed, and get funny looks. Say it's natural... and still get funny looks. "And the wings are kind of a different case I don't want to explain." He was trying hard not to react to the attempts to refrain from laughter, his overly-cautious nature for the moment proving to help. "As for a name, I don't think it'd be that important... who were those guys, anyway?"

"Ah, I see. Well, it's good to meet you... Gold..." What wasn't seen, to Aden's relief, was his mind trying to avoid deep frying itself as it reached a couple of conclusions. First, just who he helped, and the two he had just contended with. His history knowledge was a little limited, but some things were hard not to hear about. Plus spending an awful long time in Ecruteak and its neighboring areas pretty much brought the history lessons to him.

Normally, he could deal with that. It was a chance meeting in a way... provided, of course, it didn't involve the fact that the kid he was seeing now would've certainly been older than Aden was. The other way around only had one possible explanation, and he was ready to hunt and throttle Celebi for it.

All he could hope now is that he didn't mess things up too badly. He had a feeling this might not be quite so isolated. "Anyway, to tell the truth, it hasn't been long since I started off either. But what do you mean? Other than those two, things haven't been that bad, have they?"

Mind frying... close to golden brown now... "I can have my ignorant moments." And what may have been Aden's shoddiest defense yet. Not like he had too many choices available that didn't give things away. He couldn't shake the feeling that he was walking on eggshells. Eggshells filled with C-4, coated in liquid nitrogen, and steeped in napalm for good measure. "Anyway, if the're around, there's probably some reason for it. Though, those two didn't act like they were all there any more than some of the Rangers do. But maybe there's some way I can help. In case something happens like it did here, since there's no telling what they might've done otherwise."

"Wait, you know that Celebi?" Suddenly, Aden wasn't quite so worried. Somewhat. At the least, he knew there were certainly reasons present. But now, he had no choice but to explain anyway. "Eh... it kinda depends on what you call "around here". I've been to parts of Jhoto before, not lying about just having really started like you have either. I couldn't exactly tell you when that'd happen, though. But your little friend there needed some sort of help, I'm figuring. After I agreed, I ended up here... though, from what you're saying, I wasn't the only one Celebi's asked."

At least his mind was spared from being converted to charcoal.
