Patrick and Hiro arrived at the beach after Patrick had his morning jog and they had breakfast. He was wearing the swimsuit that Kenzie sent him through the mail recently. Aware of the activities going on at the beach today he thought it was good of a time to wear it in public. Whilst Hiro is wearing his little feline swim jacket because the kitten doesn't have a strong dislike for water, safety first. Settle down their stuff away from the crowds of people.

The blond realized belatedly that poor Oz was prone to having sunburn; the fellow lad should at least have sunscreen to protect himself. Except that Ben had a bottle stashed inside his bag but he was not in the mood to dip at the water just yet; maybe later, if he would like to go for a swim. Upon hearing that Oz hadn't tried to build sandcastles yet, Ben was disappointed, but he didn't let the expression show on his face. His smile remained plastered as he let Oz joined him, now in the mood for a lesson. Besides, that was one way to keep himself distracted from the pain. "Glad to know that you have become interested. Let's start with the basics," he replied to the fellow lad, knowing that he shouldn't waste his time in commencing the lesson. There were now a few more people coming in, but his focus was on the male beside him.
Benjamin elaborated on the first few steps, making sure that the sand was damp through the steady pouring of water onto the spot before digging in, packing the granules onto the bucket. His affinity with water magic did make things a bit easier because of the source nearby, but he made sure that the showmanship was toned down. He then carefully tipped the bucket over, ensuring that the spot was equally leveled beforehand, before removing lifting the object away. The first result was actually flawed, with a bit of the top being torn off, but at least there was no actual contest to see who could make the best sand castles anyway, so with that, it was not totally bad, but he would have to try again.
"Not perfect, but at least you know the crucial tips," the blond remarked, his eyes still trained onto the creation. He would have to tear that apart and start from scratch later on to see what the perfect sandcastle should look like to Oz. Maybe the two could decorate with a few shells along the way? That would depend if the other would agree with that.

The poor archer was definitely feeling uncomfortable upon him noticing her bikini, but it was too late to back out at this point. "Things have been going well so far. I ended up leaving my cat at home so that she could guard the place for today," he responded. Tiffany was feeling home alone for today, but the last thing he wanted was to see his Persian cat being lost in a place that was slowly being crowded without his watch. The DJ squirted a dollop of the lotion and the voluptuous violet-haired woman introduced herself as Mako Yokohama. The woman must be Japanese, unless there was a secret identity just like that one movie he saw via Netflix. As he was working on his arms, he heard Mako requesting for assistance, mainly because of the sunscreen to be put on the back.
Knowing that it would be rude to refuse, Chester nodded, grabbing the bottle Mako was holding and pouring a generous dollop onto his palm."It's a pleasure to meet you, Mako. My name's Chester Nightingale, though you can just call me Chester, and this is my friend, Sophia Archer. I met her just recently," he responded, pointing his chin slightly at the young archer before working on applying the lotion onto Mako's back. Her skin was definitely smooth, and the ginger-head was wondering if the other was blessed with such good looks or simply the end result of any workout regimen that existed on Earth. No, he shouldn't ask about that. That would be too creepy, so instead, he switched to something a bit more casual.
"So, how long have you been in Soleil exactly?" he questioned, still focused at the task at hand. Thankfully, the lotion wasn't greasy compared to the other brands available in stores.
Sophia set her stuff down in the empty space next to Chester and started to unpack her bag, pulling out a blanket and putting it down on the sand followed by other small things such as lotion, snacks and drinks. She kept her jacket zipped up so her torso was covered but she knew that she will have to take it off at some point to apply the lotion. Just thinking about having to fully expose the bikini was embarrassing enough for her. She shook her head and sat down on the blanket when he mentioned that things were going well and how he had to leave his cat home. "Well, I don't think the beach is a good place for a cat to be in the first place." She then took her lotion then applied it to her arms and neck when she looked over at the woman introduced as Mako when Chester introduced them to her. She waved back but wasn't sure what to say since Mako looked a bit different than your average female. She was quite built but she knew that any kind of comment relating to that would be classified as rude and personal.

Mako and Chester have done something similar. He left his cat at home while she had to leave Calypso at home. The felines of this world seem to have an adversity towards the water, but Calypso does not. However, Mako did not bring Calypso because it had to take care of the house and guard against any intruders. Not that the likelihood of intruders is high on this island, but it never hurts to be cautious. In addition, she did not want to run the risk of exposing Calypso as an android. Mako still has to work on a program that will enable to speak naturally in this world instead of the alien language from her homeworld.
Chester did not hesitate to take the sunscreen lotion from Mako and squirt some of it onto his hand. She laid down on her beach towel, back exposed, and let Chester rub the lotion on her. There was no particular feeling she had about this. It was simply a favor that she asked one of them, and he obliged, although she has seen clips from movies and tv shows how a situation like this could be awkward. Mako is not treating this as if it were embarrassing, and neither is Chester. He asked her, "How long have you been in Soleil exactly"? A common question to ask someone on this island if they are meeting each other for the first time.
"Hmm. Perhaps a month. I was suggested by some friends to come here for a vacation while we are on break. I figured the time off could allow me to explore some of my other interests, like music production and photography...that reminds me, I should've brought my camera. I imagine the two of you have been here longer than I have."

Ozwald watched Ben intently as he showed off how to make a sand castle. One of the more interesting things about the gloomy male was the fact that he was able to pick up things quickly mainly thanks to his photographic memory. It allowed him to do his previous... 'occupation' well enough to be seen as a valuable asset. Or as valuable as someone considered a weapon could be. But now was no time to think of the past. Instead he picked up his shovel and dug up the damp sand, packing it in the bucket. His tongue poked out of the corner of his mouth as he slowly turned the bucket over and pulled it up. For a first try it turned out well enough, though it did look a bit lopsided. Not that he really minded, he'd try and make a better one next time. His lips quirked up into a smile as a soft rumbly laugh bubbled up. "That was certainly interesting, I think I might be into making these things." he said looking over at his companion, a sparkle in his normally dull eyes. He always had been the type to experience joy out of the simplest of activities. Then an idea hit him, "Say I once saw a picture of a sandcastle and someone had put seashells on it. Do you think we could try that?" He partly wanted to decorate with them and also partly wanted to take a few home with him. With how large the beach was they could surely find some cool looking shells.
Setsuko laughed softly and shook her head as she moved to place her instrument back into it's case. "Oh no need to apologize, you didn't interrupt me at all. I was just doing my daily practice session. I like to take my ukulele with me and play something so I don't get rusty." She listened to him and rubbed the back of her head. "Ah I've been through that same thing quite a few times. Sometimes our bodies can work against what we want to do in favor of what it thinks we need. Like someone who stays up for days on end only to eventually crash because the body basically shut down. I admit it can be a bit annoying but a lot of the time it's for our own good." she said rubbing the back of her head. She had been guilty of staying up much too late some nights binge watching some of her favorite shows and movies. Or reading a new book. Then there was just her narcolepsy that hits at times causing her to doze off. Thankfully she had a medication that made the condition much more manageable. "So are you going to participate in any of the games?" she asked curiously.
He was still working on the task at hand when Mako revealed her answer, the reason why she decided to move into the city. Chester was almost done, though at the mention of her hobbies, he grinned, showing off his teeth, "Yeah, I should have brought my camera as well, but hey, music production? I'm attuned to the music industry also. I am a DJ myself, posting my stuff online, and even working for a nightclub situated within the city. Well, don't expect me to be quite popular as the others; my follower count isn't that large, but I wouldn't mind as long as they enjoy what I churned out for them." Recently, he had gained 300 more followers for his channel; others may have obtained a thousand more. He then diverted his attention to Sophia so that the other wouldn't feel so left out.
"Say, about that swimsuit you are wearing... Did you buy it?" he asked, removing his hands from Mako's back now that the task was finished. He then took off his shoes, revealing bare feet since he didn't wear any socks underneath, and resumed applying his own sunblock, onto his legs this time. Today's a cool day, with the occasional appearance of the breeze, so the temperature wasn't as hot as the other days in which the summer heat would hit so hard. The sun shone on his skin, and the DJ basked in the light as he closed his eyes, accepting the vitamin D intake that was necessary for his health. The cap was then sealed close before an idea was suddenly formulated into his head like a fluorescent light bulb.
"By the way, today's the day for the special events here at the beach. Any beach activities that tickle your fancy?" he asked both girls. Chester wouldn't force them to do something that would make either of them uncomfortable, so he should at least hear out their ideas before picking on something that would be considered enjoyable for all three of them.

Indeed, the demonstration was far from perfect, but noticing that Oz felt the joy from accomplishing such a simple feat was a partial antidote to the mood he had been experiencing since the day Night left him behind. It still stung, though not as much when he had the raven-haired man as his current company for today. The question about using seashells as decoration snapped him back to reality. "Frankly, I am thinking about the same thing," Benjamin responded, standing up and dusting off the sand particles that clung to his rear and legs. "Depends on what we can work with via what we can find. Shall we begin the search together on one direction or we split up and meet back here?"
He wasn't expecting the search to be bountiful, anyway, depending on how much time the two would spend for that step alone; there were others who may had found the shells earlier than they would. The beach was a public place, after all, with the residents and travelers coming in for various reasons. Ben may see the common shells that were small in size compared to the others that were medium to enormous. But who knows? Maybe luck may end up blessing one of both of them; it would depend on whether it would show up unexpectedly or not.

Tsuki started to do some squats and arm exercises until he felt that his body was somewhat back to normal. Once he was done, he took a bottle of water out from his bag. "It's strange. I don't usually get like this since I don't stay up too late." He then took a sip of his water before putting it back down and sitting down on the ground, looking over in her direction. "I'm not sure yet. I think I'm going to sit and watch to see how things are first."
Sophia finished up applying lotion to her arms and neck then moved down to apply some to her legs. She tends to burn pretty easy when she's exposed to the sun for too long so she's extra careful when it comes to going to places like the pool or beach. Sunburns aren't enjoyable for her or for anyone in fact. As she was applying lotion, Chester had brought up the swimsuit. In all honesty, she was hoping he wouldn't make a comment on it but she knew that was unavoidable. Just mentioning it make her face turn slightly red. "A couple of my friends were out hanging out and getting ready for the event a few days ago. We eventually ended up shopping for new swimsuits and they picked this one out since it fits well with me and made me buy it." Despite the pleas and kind words of support from her friends, it still wasn't enough to hold up her confidence. Her attention then went towards the beach as she looked around, shaking off the thought of the bikini. "Hm not really as of yet. I want to check things out first."

Chester revealed his interest in photography and music production, something that he and Mako share. He told her that he works at a nightclub in Soleil, and while he may not be as popular as other DJs, he is happy so long as other people are enjoying what he creates. A positive outlook to have even if many may not pay attention to his work. Mako's music work has largely gone unnoticed, and that is mostly due to her working under a pseudonym and not announcing her interest in music production to the public over social media. For now, she wants to keep her work in music as a hobby, but she should share what she has created with others for review. Once Chester finished applying the sunscreen on her back, Mako turned her body so now her front is exposed then sat up, the umbrella now protecting her entirely from the sun. She will expose herself to the sun eventually, but that depends on what the other two, Chester and Sophia, are planning to do next.
Chester started by asking Sophia about the swimsuit that she is wearing, wondering if she bought it. She explained that she was out with friends preparing for an event, and that led to them shopping for swimsuits. It took some persuasion from her friends to buy the swimsuit, which means it was not her intention to buy it. If Mako had to guess, Sophia is not comfortable with how revealing her swimsuit is. If that is the case, then the latter should have spoken up and bought something that suited her comfort level. However, Mako will not express this opinion unless she asked for it. Chester then told the group that there are special activities going on at the beach and asks them if they are interested in any of them. Mako should tell them that she is a part of the swimsuit competition, but she is not sure when that will take place. Sophia does not want to jump right into the activities being offered, but simply see what they are about. Mako believes that to be fair, for there is no need to participate if they are not comfortable.
"I don't know about the two of you, but I have entered the swimsuit competition that is taking place here at the beach. However, I am not sure when it starts, so I am sure the three can find something we can do together. I will admit that I am not familiar with some of these actitivities, like battleship, chicken and sandcastle building."

Patrick and Hiro started having some fun around with the incoming waves. Frolicking and jumping splashing the water around with their feet and paws. Requested a random person walking around to take a picture of them so he can send it to Kenzie later. Went back to their spot when they were done with the water to dry off some under the shade. Took a little snack break for a few minutes before they go on to their next activity.
Upon hearing Sophia's answer in relation to the subject about her swimsuit, he smiled, "Makes sense. Nice to know that you have friends willing to help you out on that. The swim wear I'm wearing is something I have bought back in my old hometown before moving here. My parents helped me out on that one." Speaking of them, there was the news that the schedule for the lessons as part of the preparation for the driving license exam was revealed, so he wouldn't be able to take a break for himself apart from having to work at Neon Lights for several weeks. It would be tough, but he would have to, all for the sake of possessing his own mode of transportation. That one aside, Sophia mentioned that she would to check out what's going on first, while Mako had registered for the swimsuit competition. That should be fun.
"Let's build sandcastles, then we can watch Mako compete on that stage. If we still have time once the competition is over, then we can become competitive in a fun way through either the battleship or chicken game. Sounds good?" he questioned, then the topic was switched to something that they could eat in case they would be hungry. "I have some homemade mini key lime cheesecakes in the cooler for dessert. That may pair well with whatever we can eat as snacks or lunch," Chester mentioned, tapping on the cooler that was not far from his bag. He was hoping that the two would accept the offer of eating them, or he could just consume the rest at home in case there would be some leftovers after the relaxing day at the beach. After that, he would be back to being busy, having no time to bake something at all.
Sophia put the lotion back in her bag as the talk about her swimsuit and how she went about getting it continued. "I think they wanted to see me in a swimsuit more than anything else even though I don't like bikinis." It's not that she was embarrassed by showing too much skin or that it was too revealing. She just feels uncomfortable wearing one in public. She doesn't have a problem wearing one though if she knows that no one could see her but that would defeat to purpose of having a bikini. Soon, the conversation shifted towards the event itself which made her feel a bit relieved to not be talking about the swimsuit anymore. "I've never built a sandcastle before. I've rarely ever been to the beach."
