"Eh, good-" Aden was releasing Mareep in mid sentence, but he realized one thing. Now may not be the best time for it and Nidoran to get acquainted at the same time, given the fight and all. "...idea. Here, Nidoran, I'll let you back out a little later. Let's give Mareep a chance to recover and get over the fight, alright?"
Finding that this might be wise for the moment, Nidoran allowed himself to be recalled. Then, the two walked to Blizz. Aden saw the other items being taken out, making a note to repay for those too.

I looked at the Mareep. "I think you found yourself a mighty fine one there, Aden." I said.

"Eh... what makes you say that? I mean, I know I probably don't have the same eye you might, and it can fire bolts, but." Aden wasn't downplaying the Mareep by any means, trying to keep it still as he got some of the mud out of its wool. He knew what it managed to do to his Nidoran. But when it came to potential, he wasn't quite so adept at seeing it. To him, one was no better or worse than another, and with the right training, it'd come out regardless.

Aden wasn't downplaying the Mareep by any means, trying to keep it still as he got some of the mud out of its wool. He knew what it managed to do to his Nidoran. But when it came to potential, he wasn't quite so adept at seeing it. To him, one was no better or worse than another, and with the right training, it'd come out regardless. "You'll learn soon enough, Aden." I said. "It all comes from being a trainer." I said, reaching over towards the Mareep and stroking the side of its head, which should feel pretty good to it.

"I can imagine... wonder if sis and dad ever developed a sense like that. Wouldn't doubt it as long as they've been at what they did." Aden mused. "What'd you take out, anyway? A Potion?" He found the answer himself when he sprayed the medicine onto Mareep's wounds. "...Nevermind, don't need to answer that one."
It flinched from the application, the spray stinging a little. But the sudden stroke brought its attention elsewhere, and it was feeling a little better already, so it didn't seem to mind in the end.

"Right. Mareep, you alright enough to walk?" Aden asked, motioning for Mareep to follow. It was hesitant in doing so, what with the kid ordering that horned rabbit to chase and attack. But he wouldn't have tried to do what came next if he only wanted to fight. Maybe it'd be safe to stay around.
Seeing Mareep start to follow, Aden nodded. "Good... maybe I should get something a little more specialized when we do get back to the city. I remember something about some marts selling Heal Balls."

"Good... maybe I should get something a little more specialized when we do get back to the city. I remember something about some marts selling Heal Balls." "Eh, they're good to have around to start off with, to be sure, but they are slightly expensive, and kind of run their use out if you already got yourself a full party with you anyhow." I said. "Some brands of Pokeballs I dont even bother with. This is why I just tend to stick to the old school." I said, taking out a empty Ultra Ball.

Besides, I only have about three thousand on hand, that dad gave me after I was licensed. I'm probably gonna want to be careful about what it's used on, if the more specialized stuff will burn that faster."
Now that it crossed Aden's mind, he wondered why Jackie hadn't bothered to make him shell out when he lost. He knew it was typical fare for a trainer to give up to half of their own money, should they lose a battle. Maybe it was different for gyms?

"Its not all that much of an issue if you really rake in the cash somehow in trainer battles, but still." I said to him. "Its best that you be conscious on what you got so you can support yourself and your Pokemon."

"Yeah, thanks..." Aden still felt a little bad, having been using handouts before officially becoming a trainer. He could understand those times, however, as he wasn't able to legally acquire them otherwise. Now that he could, however, he was hoping it wouldn't have come to this.
He'd make sure to be better prepared in the future.
He soon heard a bleet as Mareep started ahead of him, prompting him to hurry onward. He wondered if that was what it intended to say, trying to figure out the nuances in the Pokemon's speech.

For a good part of the way, Aden seemed to be a bit on the silent side. I wasn't sure as in to why to be honest. Something I did? Well, maybe this trip to the ruins would make up for things.
Speaking of, we finally arrived there after a short while. There was a ominous feel to this place, which really, thats not uncommon. Really sensitive people would feel that celestial chi emanating from this place. Though...
"Huh...is it just me or is this place different?" I asked, rather instinctively. I knew Aden couldn't have possibly known about it. When I looked at it, it looked fairly the same as the last time I been to these parts, sans maybe an area or two excavated a bit more. Excavation of the ruins is a very slow process. There were no telling what was in here let alone how old it was. But even so, only a couple of more sections of ruin being exposed wasn't the issue...at least...I didn't think so.

There wasn't anything done wrong, except for Aden thinking. Thinking how that Mareep, barely able to be considered out of the wild, would be effective against someone who's poured far more time into training their Pokemon. His thought processes saw a halt upon approaching the ruins, almost overwhelmed by the celestial chi. It was more than he was used to, no thanks to his present focus on fire. But he pulled himself together.
"Uh... different?" He looked around, unable to really see the difference that Blizzard did. If anything, he was noticing that some areas hadn't been excavated, and wondered if that was the oddity. "I mean, I can feel the chi in here and all, but it's not like some apparition came in front of me and howled to get out."
