[EVENT] Hide and seek - Open!

It smelled of cub. Seriously, Jazi could swear on it. It was like he was standing right next to it! But there was nothing there and no matter how much the leopard searched or called, he could not find a cub. Perhaps that little leopardess that had joined the search had passed through before and left her scent in the area. Thinking the situation to be terribly odd, Jazi kept going.

Surely, someone would eventually find the cubs. Or they’d find their way back home. He just wanted to know they were safe and back in the pride before it became too cold or they grew too hungry. The leopard did not want the image of a few little hungry cubs shivering in some damp makeshift den troubling his thoughts.

'Come on Macaria. The sooner you let me out the sooner we will find the cubs. The sooner I can get food and take a nap. It's a win win for both of us.' his dark side thought. 'You can trust me. I'm pretty much your best friend.'

'I cannot trust you. When ever you take control someone gets hurt. Why don't you just stay quiet while I look for the cubs.' Macaria thought back. Someday he would figure out how to get the voice out of his head, till than he was stuck with it.

He found a dirt pile. Carefully he starting to dig at it, thinking that maybe one of the cubs were hiding in it or something. But all he found were ants. And they weren't happy.

Kalua decided to take it slowly. It was more likely that one of the leopards would find the cubs over her. So she'd take it easy and not get too worked up about babies that didn't even belong to her. In fact, they might one day grow up to eat her babies. She frowned at that thought but continued looking. Her nose sniffed the air and she looked around. There were none to be found here too.

This was getting him no where. He felt like was getting as pessimist as his dark side. It really wasn't fair for these cubs to waste all the leopards time like this. He knew others were getting just as tired as he was. Maybe soon the cubs would be tired of their games and come out soon. He hoped it was soon. His leg was getting soarer and soarer by the minute.

Kalua wandered over to the other side. She sure wished she could still be taking a nap. She needed to digest all those yummy roots she had dug up. Instead she was searching for leopard cubs. Her fear on the food chain. Still she dug around and sniffed the air some more. There were no cubs here.

It was hard not to feel discouraged by the complete lack of success of the search party. No one seemed to be having any luck and Jazi couldn’t help but to wonder if they’d been asked to look in the right places. Still, he kept walking, calling out for the little ones in his soft voice, humming a tune and stopping frequently. None of the missing cubs came to him, however and Jazi felt even more discouraged even if the thought of giving up never crossed his mind. Until the pride members sent him away – probably forcefully – the brown leopard was not about to turn his back on the lost cubs. Where could they be?

Kalua started to hum a tune in her head as she searched. She was sure that none of the leopards would appreciate her trying to hum out loud. It never came out as nice as the birds around them. Birds were great singers. She let her thoughts wander as she hummed and looked around. It never occurred to her that not taking it serious might be the reason she wasn't finding cubs. At least she wasn't frustrating herself.

Alright this was it. He would take a rest just for a moment. The cubs could wait. He found a nice shady spot under some trees and let himself relax. It was nice. The wind blew gently against his fur. His dark side was being quiet for once. The only noise around was that of the other leopards searching for the cubs. His rest didn't last long. He knew it couldn't. Slowly he got back up and started looking again.

Caius had sulked enough. The leopard had gotten a drink of water by a near by stream and made his way back to help the female. It was embarrassing to have to leave but he needed some time for a break. Now he was back on the grounds again and up in the trees. The leopard looked through the leaves and the tall branches but came across nothing.

These cubs were experts.

As he looked he wondered what the cubs were like. He would be sure to volunteer to help watch them. Like a cub he was still full of energy. Unlike cubs he was slightly more mature. He was a good match to watch the cubs, that is as long as he didn't lose his temper. The moment that happened he would probably get in trouble.

'but it's okay to lose your temper now and than. It's natural.' his dark side reminded him.

'It isn't natural to have you pop out every time I lose it though.' he thought almost bitterly. What did he ever do to deserve his dark side?

Kalua continued her search, her head swaying back and forth to the tune in her head. It was something she heard the birds sing before. She was so caught up in looking for the cubs and humming in her thoughts that she didn't even notice the leopards in the trees. When she did, they startled her and she snorted out of fear. No, they were also looking for the cubs. They weren't going to hurt her. Still, no cubs were to be found even with all they eyes, ears, and noses about.

Keeping low beneath the shade of some dense fronds as the shadows of a few search party members ran by, the mossy figure decided that the longer his presence remained unknown the better. The undead only knew if this colony had connections to the one he came from and would be aware, just from a single look that he was the devil incarnate. Cht.

Scoffing under his breath, feral eyes watched them pass, finding it difficult not to reach out a paw to trip them up. His heart racing with their nearness. It would have been too easy to ambush them, yet a nagging voice of ******** if he didn't hate that stupid voice--whispered reason into his ear. Mess with them and you'll definitely be caught.

There was still no sign of cubs. Caius decided to remain up high though in attempts to counter his last tactic on the ground. He jumped to another tree and scanned the area. A lizard popped out from one of the branches but no cubs. The leopard had half a mind to knock the lizard off the branch but refrained from doing so.

There were still cubs to be found.

Mchanga'alfajiri had merely stumbled upon this rampant rush to find lost cubs. While the leopardess had merely been passing through and in no hurry to actually interact with anyone, she felt the slight pull and need to help. Maybe it was because her own cubs had long ago grown that she didn't want anything to happen to ones supposedly so young. She did not interact with anyone, and instead silently began a search for any of the young missing leopard cubs. It was the least she could do before passing back on her way.

His leg was hurting even more now. If the cubs weren't found soon he would have to go back to the temple anyways and do some serious resting. He would be no good to the pride with a hurt leg. He glanced at other leopards to see how they were doing. No one seemed to be able to find the cubs.
