The blind spirits fingers danced across the string, gently plucking at them to create sound. She did not even falter when she was joined in the shop by an unknown man. She just continued to play, knowing that once they were ready to buy something they would head up to the counter. It was not long before whoever it was walked up to her and spoke. Her eyes remained closed, and her fingers did not stop moving but her head did move towards the man, indicating that if her eyes were open she would be looking at him..when she was more or less noticing the sound waves his voice produced. His accent, as all accents did, produced certain sound waves. He seemed to be a British male.
He had asked if she was playing something she had composed to which she shook her head no, but nothing else was given. Her fingers stopped moving, but the sound persisted. She played another song though the song in the shop did not cease. It was some serious concentration on her part. As she played the musical notes would seemingly come to life and float around the male to spell a word that would read out Heather Fairwyd in place of her silence, in the best way they could. The notes would fade away after as she stopped playing the song. She went back to playing, so the song did not loose momentum. She kept her face turned up towards the male, standing from her seat so she could help him if he needed it.

Melpomene nodded to his questions about Heather Fairwyd before the man asked if he could get some assistance on picking out candy for his darling. She offered an innocent smile as she began to walk around, listening to the ways of music. She didn't quite know what this man's darling was like, but if it was romantic candy he wanted then perhaps a nice variety would like, and she was sure the man could correct her if she picked out something he knew she would not like. Following the silent songs she made her way around the store. She would stop by certain pockets to point out the candy. She would point out sour candy, the hard type, chocolate bars, lolipops, and rock candy because she had heard people were in love with the stuff.
He fingers never stopped moving the entire time. Hoping he understood her pointing and recommendations she moved over to the cashier to let him gather his choices and come over. She had chosen out candy that could be considered romantic or sweet and so would probably tickle a lovers fancy. She set the harps down, but the melody did not stop, and persisted as she was ready to ring him up. She had a kind smile on her face though her eyes remained closed.
She found it so sweet that the man would come here to gather sweets for his lover, especially with how early it was. She remembered her own husbands gestures, though his were more expensive with jewels and gold, but it was a great thing still. She hoped his choices would work out once he made them.

Melpomene smiled to the man as she rang him up, figuring out the prices from the songs the sweets sang to her. Mel did know of modern day currency though it took her a little bit to learn. She was more or less used to it. She played the harp, to spell out all he owed, and once she produced the money she held her hand out, gently touching his hand to know it was open, though he had to drop it in her hand. It seemed to be right, he seemed like the type of person who would stay honest. She separated the money based on what she could recall before closing the register.
Melpomene began to bag the candy when he asked her for her name. She blushed lightly at his complements. This nice man was a charmer She thought for a moment before reaching into her dress to pull out something clipped to the inside of her dress. She held it up for him to read as she could not tell him her name the same way others might. On the tag it would read read Melpomene Zamir: Manager for him to read.
She finished bagging the seats and handed it to him. She played her harp, and soon a pair of rather blank figures, one clearly male, and another female would appear. The male figure would hand another bag to the female figure, and the female figure would hug the male one out of gratitude. This was her way of expressing that she hoped it worked out for him, and that his loved-one might love it. She had a bright smile on, though it might have looked weird with her perpetually shut lids.

Melpomene nodded to the man, had the two figures wave in her stead. She could guess by his words that he was also a musician of sorts, in which she would enjoy it if she could play with him when he returned one day. He was a kind man. She gave him a small, elegant bow before the two figures faded away with his leaving. She let out a silent huff, but the calm smile remained on her face. She was happy to help someone with their romantic endeavors. She wondered if she would be lucky enough to find her own one day, but that was a thought for another time..right now she was going to focus on her work.
Melpomene went back to playing, but with people coming in as the day picked up the revenant would just to her feet to help them in any way they could, though most did not quite need it, she was already ready to help people out. She was the only one working at the moment so she had to watch after the entire establishment, but that was her job anyway and she was doing it happily. Back in Troy she was not quite allowed to work and were it not for one of the gods kidnapping her she would not understand what work was, but it was paying off now.

Mel's work day had been going fairly well though her site made it only slightly difficult to clean the store. She would often sit down to play music, though her melodies remained calm and alluring so that people would be curious. She remained near the counter, relaxed, peaceful and doing hr duty diligently, and when Izzy entered the store she was still doing so, but what she heard seemed to be a cat. While the store, she had heard did have a cat, she believed it was with the owners.
She stood up and walked over, still playing, though her fingers would momentarily stop moving, though the music did not. She would have a smile on her face as she would listen to the sound the woman and the cat made. She said nothing, but of course was ready to help if the woman needed it, though the cat was of some curiosity. She played a small melody to welcome the woman to the store, as she did for others.

Mel let out a silent giggle as the young lady played with the cat she had found. Mel wouldn't kick out a cat or whatnot though it wasn't the stores default mascot. It seemed friendly, and like it just needed to get from outside. She was sure the owners of the store would not mind, whatever it was they happened to be doing. She continued to play until she was approached by Izzy, her head tilted in her direction. She was happy for the complement, confident on her skills. She gave the strings a few plucks to signify her happiness though she could not vocally express it, but most people understood what it meant even without her using her abilities.
She moved her head as if to say she was looking around the store, wondering if the woman needed any help with her selection, or if it was mainly the music she was attracted to.
Nightengale was a wondrous source of music. It was finely decorated, made to emit wonderful sounds on its own without her manipulating the music that came from it. It was working perfectly.
The comment on Izzy not having much affinity on the arts would only draw another chuckle. She figured everyone had something they were good at. She never really applied to term arts to such narrow fields as music, painting, and anything else others might apply it to as anything could be considered art to her, even just being friendly to people was an art Mel had taken for granted at one point. The melody of the store continued to play out, keeping the atmosphere calm and friendly to everyone within though no many were coming to the store.

Mel nodded as the girl went off to go pick out her candy. She moved back over to the counter and sat down, changing the melody being played to Quiet In Six-Four Time, an equally as serene peace as the last. There was not a single not missed. Kept in perfect time as the sound, while remaining mostly in the background of the store, was louder outside. There was a knock at the door, though the action was strange given the sign on the door did say open. She gave a nod to the new arrival as she the playing continued forward. She was of course paying attention for Izzy to gather up the candy she desired, or if anyone wished to speak to her. She would try to make herself riveting for them, and hope that her service would convince them to return to the store if their business concluded, even if it was simply through the music. She did know more modern songs to play as well if it helped bring people in.
