The Flower Meadow

she smiled and laughed as she nuzzled against Alex,resting her head at alex's paws, "dont worry..i wont tell anyone"

Neira wandered along the edge of the flower meadow, taking in its beauty from the scent and feel of the its softer grass on her sore, wanderer's paws. She sighed and closed her milky blue eyes. She missed the times when she had been able to see the colors of the flowers and identify all of the different kinds. Now it was just an overall feeling of peace emanating from this place.

The she-wolf whimpered as she remembered the times she'd played with old friends in the meadow, seemingly so infinitely long ago after all that had happened to her. Her protective instinct had led her to barter her sight for the life of a pup. She never regreted it, but still reminisced what it'd be like if she'd never lost her sight, if she'd never left the pack, if she'd never fought with her brother. Eiwen, where...? Oh!

She'd caught the scent of others. Her tail fell between her legs as she cowered into the grass. She couldn't confront anyone in her current state; she was a complete mess physically and mentally. The small-ish female's snowy white coat tipped with black accents, once sleek and soft, was now matted and lank. Her mind roiled with uncertainty and heh very reaction to the presence of other pack members told her just how broken she was. She should have never left, but if only there had been someone there to help her through the darkness...

Alex smiled. She lowered her head and nuzzled the top of Jasmine's head. She felt so happy t oosee Jasmine again, and to knwo she was going to stay for a while.

Jericho wandered away from Lakota. He smelled another wolf nearby, and curiously followed it. In the distance, he could smell the wolf, but couldn't see it. The one thing he hated about being a pup was not being big enough to see things.

She looked ahead, sighing contently and trying to hide the fact she may have to leave again. She closed her eyes enjoying the touching and being close to Alex. She opened her eyes softly and then looked to the pup, she looked to Alex, "where is the kid going"

"He's wandering again, Lakota." Lakota heard her and followed behind Jericho. "He probably found something interesting...he tends to wander off without telling anyone.

She looked to lakota and then she lowered her head and closing her eyes, her body tense from her travels. "what have ben here all of this time....why", she asked softly.

Neira whined softly at the rustling in the grass. It sounded like something small, but she didn't want to be ambushed either.

Sniffing, she discovered it was a pup wandering her way. Her ears cocked forward, she crept forward slowly in case the pup was accompanied by another wolf. She could smell a few young wolves along with the pup's stronger scent nearby.

"...Hello?" her gentle voice came out meek and softer than she intended, but maybe they'd still hear her and not be surprised or frightened by her presence.

 

[Yuetchi Farandole]

Jericho's ears shot upwards. "Hm? I heard something..." He couldn't help himself, so he kept creeping forwards towards the source of the sound. He could faintly make out a figure through the grass. "Hello?"
"Careful Jericho...you know better than to sneak up on another wolf." She cautiously followed.

Alex's ear twitched, adn she glanced down at Jasmine. "Hm?"

She looked to alex and licked her muzzle softly, "sorry about that, i was asking if you have been with this pack all of this time", she said softly before she smelled the other wolf. She rose slowly and looked where lakota went.  

[Yuetchi Farandole]

"Only for the past couple of months." She backed up a little when Jasmine rose. "So you smell it too...I might have to go check it out...Jericho could get hurt."

She looked to her and then she smiled softly, "okay, let us go and see where the pup is going", she said and she moved around. She looked ahead and saw lakota in the distance.  

[Yuetchi Farandole]

Alex padded over to Lakota as quietly as she could. "Lakota, where is he going?"
"Sister, I wish I knew...I smell another wolf, and he might be curious about it. It kind of smells familiar, like a pack member, but I can't tell..."
Alex padded faster to catch up to Jericho. "Jericho...Jericho!" She whispered loud enough for him to hear, and growled softly when he didn't stop.

Neira whined again, louder as the voices came nearer. Now the others were following the curious pup and coming towards her. She barked once, unsure if they were friend or foe. Most of the pack members were friendly, but one couldn't be too sure about some.

"Identify yourseves!" She called out, hoping she sounded braver than she felt. Her tail raised in a question of status, Neira walked forward, holding her head up so they might see her over the taller grass. She'd have to overcome her fears sooner rather than later if she wanted didn't want to starve. It was only a matter of time before her lack of substantial food would come back to bite her since she only seemed capable of catching mice and occasional rabbits with one less sense to track prey by.

The young female's azure blue eyes were opaque with blindness as she tilted her head to catch the sounds of the approaching wolves better. She needed to make allies if she wanted to eat again. Her ribs protruded through her lank coat of snowy white fur.

"Are you a friend of the pack?" Neira questioned, recalling her role as a Protector.

Jasmine stopped after following behind Alex, simply moving slowly through the tall grass. She sniffed the air, hearing this wolf as she turned towards Niera, simply waiting for Alex to speak first before she moved again or replying.

Alex lurched forward adn snatched Jericho with her jaws. She yanked him backwards and replied to the call. She barked back. Her ears twitched. "Yes, we're friends of the pack."
Lakota hid behind Alex, keeping Jericho in line as well.
