Running from the waves, Averi found her toes entangled with the kelp that washed ashore. Stumbling to balance herself, she gave a lighthearted chuckle as she shook an ankle to untangle herself. If she couldn't laugh at herself, who would? There was no one else around. Snatching up the kelp, Averi muddled her way away from the water to inspect the weed she held in her hands. Plopping onto the mud, she wiped a few strands of her wet hair out of her face so she could see better. With such short hair, she couldn't pull it out of her face with a hair tie like when she had it long. It was just a learning curve. Even if she wasn't used to it, she liked it! The change signified a change in her life and the start of a reinvention of her person. That jerkward was far beneath her now! The blonde woman frowned at the kelp in her hands as she continued to examine it, thinking of her ex-boyfriend. Good riddance!
Green eyes shot up at the sound of a startled and winded voice. Ripping off a small piece of the plant, Averi reached into her bag to store, never breaking eye contact. "A scream..." she mumbled in confusion. Thinking about it, she hadn't heard anything like- "Oh! You mean when I squealed? Geeze, didn't realize I was so loud," she stated in realization. Picking herself up, she tried her best to wipe the mud off her butt as she laughed. "I promise, nothing's wrong. The water is just really cold!" With a friendly wink, Averi waved off the girl's concerns. "I'm totally fine, just inspecting the species around here," she reassured. Looking the girl up and down, her dark skin matched her forest green hair rather well! Here she was some plain Jane, while this girl was an exotic beauty! Why couldn't she look like that? She looked like an island queen or something! "Wooooow! You're really pretty~" Averi cooed, a light pink coloring her cheeks; though it may have been hard to see in such dreary weather. She wasn't embarrassed by saying anything about what she thought, but she was just so taken by her exotic beauty that the heat couldn't be helped.

Etana could tell when she was being observed and it definitely seemed like this woman was checking him out. He remained there, crossing his arms over his chest before she began to speak up, making a little pass which caused him to smile "No. If a man as handsome as me stopped I'd consider it a blessing." his tone let her know he was indeed telling a joke. Etana was vain, he was jovial in his vanity. He nodded "Still it'd be a shame for such a thing to happen even if they need only apologize." he said as she shook his head to get rid of excess water.
Etana didn't seemed threatened by her approach, a man confident in his skills even if she was to try and kill him. He knew what to look for if someone was going to come at him "I am Etana Kara-Bel Shenshen." he gently took her offered hand and kissed it. He let it go as he placed his hands on his hips "I didn't expect too many people to be out here in the rain. Most people tend to wish to stay dry." he said. It was fine to relax a bit since he had been running for awhile. This could be his break.

As the seconds passed by it became apparent to Lola that the woman was doing just fine. She watched curiously as the woman placed a piece of kelp in her bag. Strange, but at the same time not much of a concern for the huldra. Her attention was mostly on the blonde in anticipation for her response. At the puzzling look she received, she once again questioned herself. She giggled nervously as she briefly dropped her gaze.
“W-well, maybe it wasn’t much of a scream after all… I was a little distracted so I think the noise caught me off guard. I guess I overreacted.” It wasn’t her intention to put the woman on the spot or embarrass her. What if she was just enjoying herself and Lola ruined the moment by being so nosy? She sincerely hoped that wasn’t the case.
Hearing her laugh was definitely a relief, her smile widening even more. “Oh… Oh, ok, I see!” Honestly, she didn’t really understand. The feeling of being cold was foreign to her. It was why she was at the beach while it rained and was without an umbrella to keep her dry. Not that she would ever admit that to a stranger. Except, she realized the woman was also without warm clothes and an umbrella. How peculiar! “Well, I’m glad it was that and not you drowning or something!” She made a show of dramatically swiping her hand across her forehead with another “phew”.
Since Lola wasn’t being shooed away she took it as an invitation to stay. Plus she was really wanting to take her mind off her earlier moping. “That’s pretty interesting! Is there a specific reason you’re doing that? I’ve only ever seen people pick up shells. I mean, I don’t think I’ve seen anyone try to look for anything else… Do you have a collection with all the things you find?”
The woman’s compliment caught Lola off guard and her cheeks turned a noticeably darker shade. She felt a little bashful by such a direct comment like that, but with her current mood it wasn’t unwelcome. It really lifted her spirits. “Aww, thanks, that’s so sweet of you!” It made her happy to feel accepted, if even a little. But how rude of her would it be to not return a compliment? “You’ve definitely got the looks to melt some hearts yourself!”
With a lighthearted laugh she reached a hand out for a possible shake. “My name is Lola by the way. It’s nice to meet you!”

Tsuki decided to check out the beach once again since the last time he was there, it was crazy with the whole beach event going on. He did make some friends in the process though so some good things came out of it even though he didn't participate in many events. Only this time, he wanted a place to relax and unwind and the sound of the waves crashing up against the shoreline was a perfect place. Once he was at the beach, he went out to find a good spot. The beach wasn't very busy also so that made things even better. Once he found a good spot, he set his stuff down, laid out a beach towel and sat down on it. He then reached into his bag and pulled out some sun lotion and started to apply it to himself so he didn't get burnt.
It was drizzling a bit when she left the house and separated with her twin brother, Haruki, so she was worried that her little trip to the beach would result to another failed attempt for some training. Due to her brother being confined at the hospital, Akira was not able to join in the fun at the event. She was really looking forward to it but Haruki comes first.
She was wearing a simple white dress that covered her one piece swimsuit just in case the heavens would allow her to take a swim in thw deep blue sea. The young lady surveyed the areas to see if there is someone whom she might know. There was someone who frequents the area which fortunately was busy putting on some sunscreen.
Akira tip-toed towards his direction, making sure that her presence would not be felt. As soon as she managed to get the chance, she placed both of her hands over his eyes, "Guess who?"

Tsuki had applied lotion to his neck and started to apply it to his arms. He wasn't exactly expecting to run into anyone he knew in particular but the possibility was always there. After all, it was the beach. As he was rubbing the lotion in, his vision was suddenly blocked as a pair of hands came around him and covered his eyes. Not long afterwards, he heard a familiar voice speak out from behind him, asking him to guess on who it was. "Hmm well, the voice reminds me of a girl with long, light brown hair who's crazy strong. Am I close, Akira?" He has made a lot of friends but even with a blocked out vision, he could recognize a voice anywhere.
The brunette pouted upon hearing his response. Was she that obvious? "Maybe I should have altered my voice a bit." she said removing her hands from his eyes, placing them right on her waist. "So...how was the event?" Her gaze went back to the sky. It was still a bit cloudy. Hopefully, it would not raim that hard. Then again, it would be quite a challenge to swim in such weather, something she would deffinitely love!

Tsuki's vision soon returned to him as he turned his head back to look at Akira. He had a white and red-striped hat on with a with a simple white dress. He could only assume that there was a swimsuit underneath said dress. "The event was pretty good. The place was pretty packed full of people. It was a little hard to find a good spot to set up my stuff though since I wasn't in the best of shape and didn't get to the beach when I wanted to." He then moved over and patted the towel. It was big enough for two people to sit on. "Come join me if you'd like. I also have some drinks and snacks in my bag to as well as an umbrella in case it rains." He wasn't going to let a little rain get in the way. If the umbrella proved to be ineffective against the rain, he could always use his abilities to form a makeshift shelter around them.
Averi laughed at the very notion of her drowning. Her power base may have been made of air but she was an excellent swimmer. Her father had been a fisherman, it almost felt required! "Averi," she introduced quicjly, with a smike, before returning to their previous conversations. She was flakey but not rude. Turning on her heal, feeling the grainy mud squish beneath her skin, Averi began to march off in a random direction. She may not have said anything to Lola about moving on, but she also hadn't implied she wanted the woman to leave. Having company, making friends, these were things Averi loved doing! Friends were her family now and the more she had, the more she felt loved. Right niw, since moving, she didn't have any friends in town but that would change. She knew it. "I'm a marine biologist. Or...well...studying to be one," she finally said as she scanned her surroundings before looking to her green haired company. "Of course I freaking have a collection!" she added with excitment. How could she not? She collected all sorts of things pertaining to her profession! Hell, she even collected water samples. While she couldn't collect marine life for her own passion, she certainly helped santcuaries and acquariums with their marine life. And she loved every minute of it! Thanks to her dad, who used to take her fishing with him, she grew to love everything about the sea.
"I actually work at the acquarium here in town," she added, stopping when she found a jellyfish washed ashore at her feet. Her rather cheerful expression dwindled into a neutral one as she bent down and dug her knees into the mud. "Careful Lola, the stingers are still active," she warned, holding up a hand to make sure the woman didn't sting herself. Jellyfish stings were the worst! They were painful and often left hideous scars. Plus there was the added discomfort of amonia being a deterent for some of the pain. Averi stared down at the beach jelly and wonder if the water rolling onto shore was causing it to look alive, or if it was actually alive. Even if it wasn't, the toxin that made the stingers so deadly was still active. Having been stung a few times, Averi wasn't as phased by the pain as someone who had never been stung before. Reaching down, she paused as she reached into her bag and grabbed a small vile and tiny clippers. There wasn't anything she could do for the creature now. Once it was washed ashore it was done for. Jellyfish weren't like other marine life and died nearly instantly when in contact with pure oxygen. They could handle the minute amounts in the water, but on land was a whole new story. Clipping off a stinger, Averi flinched as her fingers were stung. Did she have any extra medication for stings in her car? Shoot, she couldn't remember! She would need to get some from home if she didn't, and fast if she didn't want any permanent damage to her fingers. "What are you doing out here in the rain? Aren't you cold?" she asked as she placed the vile into her bag.

She smiled, he had chosen well in how he greeted her. This Etana gentleman seemed just that: a gentleman, but with a little bit of rogue thrown in, just like most of the male leads in the classic romance novels. "I'm from Ireland, my dear Etana, back there if one did not come out when it was raining, one would hardly ever leave the house. Besides, it isn't very fair if I make the ocean get me wet, but do not let the skies do the same thing." She tried to look dignified, but after half a beat she gave a slightly nervous chuckle. "Ok, wow, that was horrible. I was definitely trying to go wise and philosophical, but instead I just sort of sounded like a porno fortune cookie or something. Truth is, I don't mind the rain so much, especially if it means it'll make everyone's clothes stick to 'em a little better." Untold millennia on this planet, and she was still about as smooth as a reverse stroke on a porcupine. "Well, now that I've made a fool of myself, guess I could ask you the same question you sort of implied: what brings you out here? I can see you're running, but why do that out here? I'm sure there are places a little more dry." Seemed like it would be more of a pain than anything else, but maybe it was cathartic or something?

Etana could not hold back at his laughter at her attempt at a proverb, but it was far from a mocking laugh. He nodded his head "I give you an A for effect my lady." he clapped. He wasn't much of a poet either so he understood the difficulty of coming up with wise platitudes. The man gently ran a hand through his hair once again, it outlining his face every so often "Well it has been quite some time since I was in Ireland. I think last I was there I came into conflict with a whole family of Dobhar-chú." he rubbed his chin again. The way he was smiling it was a good memory.
Etana stretched "Where I come from my lady a man wasn't a man if he wasn't ready for any situation." of course it was a bit of an exaggeration, but Etana came from the earliest of human civilizations. He had a few old values because he was there as they developed. He smiled "Rain, sleet, snow, firestorm, tsunami, hurricane, sandstorm, and more! A hero must be ready to do battle with all manner of fiend in any situation." he stated proudly.
He then looked to the distance "As well I believe there is a bar of some sort not far from here. I fully intend to drink my fill one I have finished my standard workout. I hear it may also have a great assortment of lovely women I can set my eyes upon." though he looked at her and without even a hint of hesitation and shame would state "Though it appears I didn't even have to wait for a wonderful vision to appear before me. This town does know how to treat its residents." a kind smile.
Akira sat right next to her friend with her legs stretch out in front of her with her hands on her side to support her. It looks like she was not the only one who didn't get to enjoy all the fun. "How about now?" She asked with a worried tone. She came here to get some excercise but she wouldn't push him if he's still not feeling well. "If you are...then I have a better idea." she said with a wide grin.

She quirked an eyebrow when he mentioned the Dobhar-chú, she hadn't really expected him to have been in her country, much less have had encounters with one of its more public denizens. The more she listened to him, the more comfortable she felt around him: he was a classic design like the men she remembered back in the days of old. Did that mean that he was actually really old? Well, probably not as old as she, but by human standards he could be ancient. She liked that about this place: everyone was so unique and different, there were more species and special cases than she had ever imagined. "I accept your invitation. I have a feeling you are referring to where I work, but I don't mind coming in on my day off." Her stomach rumbled, though at least it was fairly quiet. "Though if I go on an empty stomach, I'm sure to get drunk quickly, and that would be no fun for you." She stepped so close to him that she could faintly feel the heat of his body even through the rain. Reaching up, she began tracing his scars with her fingertips starting from those highest on his chest and working her way down. "If I got drunk too quickly, then I'm certain you would be a gentleman and take me home or to your place, and you wouldn't know if my advances were sincere or just the drink, so you wouldn't get to have any fun with me." She stopped tracing the scars once she got to the waist of his pants. "Would you mind terribly if we got lunch first? Then I should be ready for a long fun night with you. I get the feeling we have many things in common and would get along very well." She had a change of clothes with her packed away in a waterproof container, but she didn't bring her wallet with her. Though even if she had, it wasn't like she had much money.

Tsuki stretched a bit more. He would like to say he's better but he isn't. His sore muscles from the event were due to the fact that he didn't sleep very well compounded with the fact that he had a rough day the day before the event. This time, he had a similar experience. While he didn't have as much of a rough day before, he did have trouble sleeping again. He's not quite sure what's causing him to not sleep which is strange to him. He'd toss and turn for about an hour before falling asleep but just ends up waking up again not long after and then the whole thing just repeats. "Hmm...it's not as bad as before but I do feel a bit out of it. Been having trouble sleeping lately so I was hoping that coming here to relax would help relax my muscles.".
Akira blew her bangs off her face. "So much for a swimming contest. She was gonna suggest for them to go swim in the sea since he seemed to love that activity but she would not impose if she thinks that it would cause harm to the other party. "Oh well..." She sighed but then a suddeb realization came to mind. Akira shifted her sitting position to face him. "Wait! Don't tell me you couldn't sleep coz you're thinking of someone, are you?" She said wiggling her eyebrows. The maiden was no good with this whole love and infatuation thing but she heard from a friend of a friend of a friend that this usually happens when they are crushing on someone. She could be wrong though. It was just a simple guess and at the same time teasing Tsuki a bit.
