Eiwen barked in surprise and fear as Meena slipped from his jaws yet again. He peered underwater and couldn't see her. Fear spread through him and he dove clear under. He managed to oull back up just in time to avoid a collusion with a submerged boulder.
A slightly different lump on the water;s surface caused Eiwen's heart to catch in his throat. 'Meena!' Her limp body was floating atop the water's tumultuous surface. He launched off from another rock, hitting a few more as he splashed towards the unconcious she-wolf.
The water flippd him over wrong and he hit another rock hard with his foreleg. He heard a crunching sound and pain shot up his leg. Wincing, he clenched his teeth and ignored the agonizing pain. Using his back legs more than his front now, he got close enough to Meena and saw that she was just unconcious, but barely holding on. He grabbed her again by the scruff and pulled with all the strength he had left in him. The rapids were a sure sign for another waterfall up ahead as the water quickened its pace. However, the river also gave them an advantage, it had gotten a lot shallower and they weren't as far from the shore anymore.
Eiwen went for the final thrust and pushed them into slower waters shelters by overhanging branches. He paddled limply until they caught in the grasp of the branches. The pull of the river no longer an issue, he managed to nudge Meena in front of him until he reached the bank and limped onto the muddy slope, pullling the she-wolf behind him by the scruff.
Eiwen just managed to pull Meena's limp body onto the grass farther up before he collapsed with a shrieking yip. His foreleg was bent at an unnatural angle and a small bone fragment protruded through the skin. He whined and barked as he tried to pull himself up from the mud, but to no avail. He flopped down half onto the grass, his hindquarters lolling on the muddy bank. He shifted a little closer to Meena and saw that she was breathing, thank the moon. He tried to curl closer around her body to keep her warm despite their drenched fur but it did no good. He, himself, started to shiver. At first it was just a slight chill, but it escalated into a racking quiver all over his body. He pulled himslef inwards and tried to ignore the pain, the cold, and the sinking feeling that they were impossibly helpless. He was unable to move and Meena wasn't responsive. Eiwen lay his muzzle down with a whimper and a heavy cloud passed over him as he blacked out.

Tumorias's blue eyes widended as she watched the scene before her, the water seemed more dangerous than it ever did before. She used to play in this river with her friends. Stiffling a gasp she walks deeper in to the water, feeling cool liquid rush past her knees but, she kept pretty stable. Her brow furrowed as she thought on how she could help save the two wolves. Yet, she was a tiny being and how could she save a full grown brute and a fea. Damn it... The poor fea thought as the scene turned even more horrific. What didn't help was she was just standing, staring at the dreadful scene. Trying to get a plane in action she quickly swerved around her heel, slipping upon the mud of the river floor and falling. Luckily her brother was right there and he turned into his human form and grapped her from a possible watery death. Sighing she laid her head on his chest for a moment before whispering her thanks then walking away from him. Making sure to stay close to the bank but, far away from it as well. It confused her, she was usually so calm around these waters. She used yo prance and play upon the small currents of it, talk to the water plants below. Why was it so deadly today? Why did it decide to try and harm them? Her brow furrowed as she thought these things through and her plan. She then stopped walking and mentally yelled at herself, she needed to help these wolves! Not get lost upon the depths of her thoughts. Hearing the yowl of one of the wolves she froze, were her efforts gone wasted? Snapping her head to the right her worrited eyes landed upon the brute falling to the ground and the disgruntled leg. Gasping she turned around and ran down the opposite way, passing her brother once more and him following her. Going over to where the little rock brige was she jumped onto one and jumped from rock to rock, her human legs carryong her as fast as they could. Her wet jeans clinging to her legs as she moved quite gracefully over. Jumping once more she felt the earth below her and she ran towards the two wolves. Shrugging off her jacket she laid it upon the female to keep her warm. Then, Tumorias's blue eyes landed on the brute, and she looked at his leg. It did not look good, not good at all. She swalllowed back fear and tears of frustration. Here she was trying to save two unknown wolves's lives and she had no practice in the medical field. Burying her face into her hands she thinked, closing her eyes and feeling wetness threatening to fall. This was one of the times when a wolf needed Sora the most and Sora was not here. Sor was best at the medical field in Tumorias's group and the fea could be on the other side of the lands. Feeling a warm hand upon her shoulder the poor girl looked up, looking into the familiar eyes of her brother. Seeing them hold a rare warmth, "Are we going to save these wolves or not?" He asked her in that dark voice of his. Tumorias smiled smally and looked at the two wolves once more, and she nodded. "Let's go.." She murmured and started to work as best as she could on the brute's leg.

Eiwen felt a warm hand on his pelt and he whined softly. They came.... He was relieved and yet scared, he'd only thought they would help them, what if they hadn't? He shuddered at the thought.
Slowly he opened his emerald eyes. Lating in front of him was Meena, her nose barely touching his own. She seemed to have moved since he'd laid her down, but now she was out cold again. He yelped once and clenched his teeth as the newcomer female touched his broken leg. He knew better than to move anymore, seeing as he'd probably screwed his leg up enough already.
'Ugh, ...thank you... for coming.' He kept his head against the ground and it felt strange talking to somebody on his side. The female's brow was furrowed in concentratin and concern as he watched her face to keep his mind off the throbbing pain. The brute next to her felt similar to her, perhaps a sibling. A discarded coat was half draped over him and half under Meena, probably from when she passed out again.
As the female moved his leg again he clenched his teeth, but held firm in resolution, not letting out a single yelp. Pain was nothing new to him, but this new kind of fear mixed with the cold stiffness of his body was unnerving. His stared blankly at a fern growing in front of him and grounf his teeth angrily as he realized that it had been all his fault for falling in first and suggesting to play on the rocks. He growled deep in his chest, but it subsided when he felt Meena's breath on his face as she lay unconcious in front of him. If it weren't for her breathing, she looked as if she'd drowned already, her long coat matted with water and face, tear streaked level on the ground. He stretched his neck and licked Meena's ears with the tip of his tongue both to reassure himself as to perhaps comfort her.

Tumorias's brow furrowed as she sewed the leg as best as she could. Hoping she was not hurting more that he was already. As soon as she was done a sigh of relief escaped her lips, floating in the air for mere seconds before disappearing. Looking at her work she couldn't help but smile, she had to admit, she did a pretty good job. Somebody could think that the smile was of flauntiness but, it was more of happiness. She was not one for the medical field and she had saved this wolf's leg. Pride and warmth poured from her heart and swimmed in her veins, she had not felt this good in a long time.
Running her small hand through his fur once more she said in that soft voice of hers, "I'm sorry if it hurt more than it should.. I'm not the best doctor.." She took a small pause, "But, you were my best patient." She smiled smally after that. The smile directed towards Eiwen and Meena, the smile meaning they were lucky that they survived. the smile saying that they would live to see the next day. Putting her coat over Meena's body Tumorias shivered some, her spaghetti strap shirt did not give her warmth at all and the soft cool breeze and her being damp did not help.
She just sat though, having a small shiver spasm here and there but she did not complain. Her deep blue eyes were staring forward, waiting for her brother to return. What was taking that stubborn fool so long? Her gaze narrowed, he probably got distracted by something. Groaning she rubbed her temples and sighed, "I will be right back.." She whispered before hopping up and running away from the two laying bodies.
When she had ceased running she looked about, looking for that herb. She bent down and pushed the tall grasses aside here and there, looking quickly for the plant. As soon as she found it she examined it, and then smiled. Walking up to the river she washed it the root hurriedly and then raced back to Eiwen, bending down she said to him, "This should help with the pain.." After he had eaten it she smiled once more and patted him on the side.
Sitting next to them she had turned into her wolf form now, her small and skinny body standing out clearly against the green hues of the grass and bushes. Her black and white fur warming her up quickly as it ruffled some in the breeze, her white tipped ears perked and alert, her white tipped tail wrapped around her hind legs. She was much smaller than her larger brother and smaller than the average female wolf. Sighing she closed her eyes for a moment, taking in deep breaths so she could relax a little, scents attacking her black nose.
She was calm, wanting to talk to Eiwen and Meena but, they probably wanted to rest so, she would let them. The voices once more clouded her mind and she listened to them, waiting for one of their voices to interupt her thoughts.

The root tasted bitter, but so did almost any medicine. The pain dulled to a throb that numbed his leg and torso so that he felt a little disconcerted, but far more comfortable than before.
As Tumorias shifted he lifted his head and cocked it to the side, taking in her new shape. She was even smaller than Meena, which was a bit of a feat itself.
'I wonder, would it help if I also shifted? My clothes should be warm enough, and with the wound taken care of to some extent, maybe I can fashion a splint....' Eiwen tried to roll over some and he managed to pull himself up hind legs first. Once he pushed his front off the ground and was standing, he shifted, feeling the wind suddenly engulf him and his forleg turned into a human-like limb before his eyes. His ruff turned into red-auburn hair that fell to below his shoulders and his fur receeded until only a slight fuzz covered his body. He was clothed in long, dark jeans, a loose white tee, and elaborate, crimson jacket. Pulling up the sleeve, he braced his arm against his torso and attempted to rise to his feet, but stumbled and decided it was best to still sit on the ground.
As he settled cross-legged on the dirt he tried to keep his arm imobilized as much as possible. 'Tumorias, do you still have bandages? If you can find a short, sturdy branch or some stiff grass I can make a splint...' He pulled off his sash and flipped the end over his shoulder. Bringing the other end underneath his injured limb, he made a loose sling.
Eiwen smiled and looked up at Meena. 'I'm sure I'll be just fine. I'm more concerned about you though, you hit your head pretty hard.' He reached over and smoothed out the fur around her face. She was still really wet too. He pulled over some dry grass and twigs and fashioned a small pile in front of him. He leaned over and whispered something in a strange, hissing tongue and a small, hesitant flame sprang up. Whispering more encouraging words to the fire, he fed it a few more twigs and it flared up hungrily, eating at the dry grss and taking to the wood slowly. He smiled absently, the fire was easy enough to call on if it was just a little one and the familiar, shifting glow help him to relax somewhat.
