Hmm, the L thing is reasonable, but it sorta sounds a little cheesy. Naming people after things sounds cool in Japanese and is pretty common but it's completely different when it comes to English.
I also think translators should concentrate on giving the reader an accurate expierence that japanese readers would get when reading the original series, rather than translating everything so literally. Tasteless, direct translations suck.
Gosh I remember when they renamed the sharingan in the viz shonen jump to something like "COPY-WHEEL-SPINNING-CIRCULAR-IRIS-PART-THING-EYE"

The guy with the Scythe does the SAME FOUR ATTACKS over and OVER.
Tira ((chick with the Hoola Hoop blade)) does NOTHING BUT BLOCK.
....well the chick with the Umbrella isn't Cheap....she just sucks.

Saw a few clips of tira. Frankly she doesn't impress me much :/ The fighting style's wonky... holding a hoop with both hands leaves you too open for attacks.

edit: just visited the mainsite... isn't seung mina almost a clone of kilik? Only she's fat and happens to have a blade on one end of her staff. That's odd... I didn't think she'd be considered a default character in sc III o_o
