Meena smiled at the warmth and snuggled as close as she could. Her ribs groaned with the pressure. "Thankyou" she whispered and fell into a deep sleep.

Eiwen smiled back even through he could tell she was already asleep. She would need to rest up a great deal, but after a few days they would problably be able to start making their way back upriver to the waterfall and pools where it was safer. The river had been unkind to them, but with the onset of winter, the water would be too cold to slip up again; he needed to watch Meena carefully in her weakened state. Soon she'd wake up again and they couldn't go forever without food; he'd have to hunt which meant he needed his leg to heal faster....

Meena slept for three days and finaly woke up. "I'm hungry"She growled softly. she sat and then stood up and took a few labored steps. "Eiwen? You awake?" she questioned.

Eiwen lifted his head from his paws then stood up. He yawned and stretched fully then walked hesitantly up to Meena, limping slightly on the injured leg. 'I'm up now. ...How do you feel?'

The dark wolf walked up to a puddle and lapped at the muddy water, it was at least enough to satiate is thurst until they could find a stream or else get to a safer spot by the river. 'I'm parched....' He cast an eye over at Meena and sat down.

|| Blackbird singing in the dead of night...||
[Take these broken wings and learn to fly]
|| All your life; ||

[Cyde]

It wasn't like she had any clue where she was going but, she was following the watery bubbling that was the constant ringing in her ears. She knew she was heading towards a river, and her dry-mouthed thirst was driving her crazy. Picking up her speed only one thing was flashing back and forth in her mind, the lustful cool water.

Escaping the tree shadows and the bush obstacles the femme finally saw it, the river. Feeling her nostrils start to flare and her sides heave in and out of excitement she was by the river's edge in a heartbeat and drinking to her heart's content. Her tail was wagging wildly and her hindquarters moving with it, the femme was happy she could finally end her mind throbbing thirst.

Raising her soaked muzzle she licked the extra droplets of water before a distinct sound caught her attention. The femme's ears were now perked and she looked upstream, there was a waterfall not to far away! Getting a flash of excitement through her brown eyes the femme started to trail up next to the river's edge, leaving paw prints in the moist soil.

Cyde seemed to be happy in the enviroment, her tail was swaying softly with the breeze and her eyes were bright.

Cyde wasn't anything special, just like any other wolf. She had a nice glossy brown coat and a lighter shade of brown to go with it. The femme was the average height for any fea, but she held a lot of muscle under her coat. The femme walked with pride but she also gave off the sort of vibe that made her very kind and accepting. Cyde hadn't meet with any wolves just yet but she wouldn't rush it, she had to get used to her enviroment as well.

Seeing the waterfall instantly pulled the femme out of her thoughts and she stood and just stared at it for a moment before smiling. Cyde would be here for awhile and explore this little spot before going to the next one.

The passing of winter and the gentle glide of spring had Anafiel Delaunay in high, hopeful spirits. For once, he felt he could relax... and relax, he did.
The beta rested high on a thick tree branch that loomed over the river, enjoying the soft breeze that flowed up from beneath him. The mild waters sent brilliant ripples of light dancing upon his rusty ginger fur. The canopy of leaves above him cloaked him with shadows that complimented his handsome bone structure. One of his back legs hung lazily off the branch, while his head rested comfortably on his forepaws.
He was purely D'Angeline, a scion of the most beautiful gods that had ever walked the earth...
As such, his beauty melted in with nature's own, and the sight was achingly charming.
He'd closed his eyes to the world around him, taking in the gentle sound of the river, the frogs in the reedbeds, the rustle of the maidengrass, the chorus of the birds...
The Beta was at peace.
Having been a nomad for so long, he'd developed a rather strong connection with nature. In turn, his social skills had significantly dwindled. He'd gone from an outgoing court noble to a softspoken pack beta. He'd never admit it but, as he stood now, he was more than ashamed with himself. He'd never have made the Beta position anyway if Firefly hadn't helped him...
But he wouldn't think of such matters... at least, not now. Not when the weather was finally nice and warm, and the wildlife was alive and frantic with the mating season.
Again, his thoughts diverted unbidden.
Mating season.
Anafiel's eyes opened slightly to stare thoughtfully at the clear water below.
Now that he was Beta, would he have to take a mate to ensure the Pack's future?
He blinked. Come to think of it, he'd had suitors aplenty ever since word got around of his newfound position. Sometimes he had so many people around him he thought he could scarce breathe.
But... he didn't like females... at all. No matter how hard he'd tried for his own family, he couldn't choose to tolerate just one.
But they weren't here now, so...
He furrowed his brow. It always seemed his thoughts meant to attack him for as long as he lived. But no, no, no, not now.
He pushed them away, determined.
Anafiel dismissed the dilemma, closing his eyes once more.
He intended to enjoy what peace he could for as long as possible.
And so he rested, focusing on nature until his thoughts were naught but meditative.

The sound of water crashing down into water could reach the alert ears of one fae. She had left the calm quiet field of flowers to come in search of another place. Listening to the rushing water one could only assume that there was a river or something near by. The sound lured her calling for her to come. The small fae smiled as she came into view of the river ahead. There was a waterfall which was the cause of the loud water crash sound. As she moved closer to the river her white fur stood out against the sun while her grey and black fur felt quite warm against the rays of the sun. Walking over to the river she starred down at her reflection. She took on the looks more of her mother then her father. Her brother looks so much different from her with his fur color.

Myona sighed as she shook her head. She had to stop thinking about her brother. She had not seen him since she fell off the cliff that separated them long ago. Her brother probably thought she was long dead or something. Besides she had not caught her brother's scent in a long time so she assumed he was still with their home pack a long distance from here. She laid her ears back as she laid down at the edge of the river bank.

"Syoke I hope you are living a good life"
Myona whispered softly. Her front paws were in the water edge. She sighed as she laid her head down on her front legs watering the water rush past her paws. She noticed a few sticks from trees move along with the river's current. The current did not seem that strong but she was sure in some places even she might loose her footing but there seemed to be safe areas quite a few to be exact. She closed her eyes as she listened to the breeze rustling the leaves along with the crashing of water meeting water from the waterfall.

Times like this reminded her of when she was still a young pup. She and Syoke would often sneak away from the pack to go and explore. Although Syoke was quick to tell her when it was to far for them to go and not safe. He had always been the more responsible one thinking of their safety. Sometimes she wondered where her and Syoke would be if she had listened to him and not get to close to the flower that caused her to loose her footing and fall of the cliff a few years ago. She was amazed herself that she survived and was the start of her adventure in life. She was in search of her brother but now she was thinking about maybe finding a pack to live with. Move on with her life. She smiled softly as she remembered her brother scolding her like he was an older brother when they are the same age.

Rushing water. The sound that calls for many when they are in need of water. This was not the case for one man. He appeared human as he stood by the edge of the river just watching the water rush on past him. He was in fact a pure white furred wolf but has an human form. This form kept him hidden among humans for very long time. Keeping his identity of being a proud wolf. The human life was good for him but like his pack before that he started to feel out of place. He grew bored of this easily and others he speaks with can even bore him. Not many could stand him at times. You could say he does not have a whole lot of respect for others. They have to prove it to him before he will show respect to them. If you want it you have to earn it in his eyes. Although that could be the human traits he had picked up over the years he had spent with the humans. He would have stayed with the human life if it weren't for one little sad wolf pup. He has adopted this wolf back as his own. He soon started to walk along side of the river walking with the current. His almost white hair got caught in the wind causing some strands to fall in his handsome face. He just smirked slightly before moving the stands out of his face as he continued to walk.

"Well well what do we have here? The beta enjoying some time to himself?"
Riko asked as he chuckled to himself. He had spotted the brute up in the tree Riko now leaned against the trunk off. Crossing his arms he starred towards the better who seemed to be enjoying himself in the peace and quiet. Almost made Riko want to just keep walking on by but only almost. The beta had beauty many would be jealous of. Of course Riko a similar beauty but since in their pack the beta outranked him the beta was seen as the one to come out on top. Riko had joined the pack shortly after leaving the human word with the young pup who is not like his daughter, Dimika was her name. Such a cute thing and so much for her to learn as well. Riko enjoyed watching over her but at the moment she was wondering on her own with in the pack's territory of course. Can not leave a pup unattended but was safe where she was for the time being.

"Care if I interrupt your relaxing time Anafiel? Guess I am already dong that by talking to you,"
Riko said as he smirked slightly. Riko crossed his arms as he watched the wolf laying on the large tree branch that was looking out over the river. The beta was lucky to have gotten to this spot before Riko or else he would have surely taken it for himself. Nice view it gave you and it seemed relaxing at least from where Riko could see.

Anafiel's sensitive nostrils flared momentarily as the other male's scent drifted in.
Reluctant to abandon his meditative state, he refrained from moving for a few more peaceful moments... But, eventually, his eyes sleepily blinked open.
He raised his head from his paws slowly, gracefully turning his proud head to acknowledge the other male. The flecks of topaz glimmered in his ash-grey eyes, and his ear twitched thoughtfully as he studied his subordinate.
Anafiel wasn't sure if they'd met before, but the brute had known his name... Such things were common happenstances these days. It often made Anafiel feel a poor excuse for a Beta, not knowing the names and faces of the various pack members... But, Elua, there were so many!
This one, Anafiel decided after studying him briefly, he'd never met. No. He'd have remembered such fair, wispy hair. He'd have remembered the almost intimidating sense of confidence he radiated. He'd have remembered the man's striking beauty...
...For a moment, Anafiel found himself wondering whether or not the man was D'Angeline, and he near convinced himself he'd seen a familiar face in one of the adepts of Cereus house...
But no. Anafiel was far from home, and he was merely hopeful.
Repressing an inward sigh, he dipped his head politely, greeting the male.
"'Tis no great interruption," he lied.
Well, really it wasn't a lie, as Anafiel was finding himself strangely intrigued by this strange male.
"Such scenery deserves appreciative company. I'd be selfish to dismiss you, sir..." He trailed off, hoping the man would introduce himself.
The spring breeze picked up again, as it was prone to do so this time of day. It rustled the leaves above, sending scattered rays of light dancing once more upon Anafiel's thin, silken fur.
He rather looked the part of Beta, all statuesque and regal in the midst of nature's peaceful stirring. Though he rather preferred the elegant beauty of his human form, the enigmatic air of his true, wolfen form was no less impressive.

As Riko watched the beta it would seem he disturbed a bit but was not to upset about it. Makes one wonder if he woke the other wolf up but was not sure. The beta was still in his wolf form but not Riko. He was ashamed to state he liked being in his human form better. Maybe that was why the human life appealed to him so much a few years back. If it was not for his adopted daughter he would most likely still be with his human friends in his human life. Although he had to admit he did miss the life of the proud wolf. A proud wolf is what Riko was. Even with his human life he still often thought of roaming the lands as a four legged creature but still he enjoyed being in his human form. Such complicated feelings run through his mind with this little personal situation.

"Riko, Anafiel the name is Riko,"
he stated as he smirked slightly. He ran his hand through his soft silk hair as his piercing green eyes starred up towards the beta. This was the first time Riko had spoken with the beta since joining this pack. Although Riko could not help but to have the feeling of recognize when he looked towards Anafiel. Crossing his arms again he spoke calmly to the beta.

"How has life been treating you my friend?" Riko asked calmly. He liked to think of other pack members as friends at least. Although Riko did not know much about a lot of the members of this pack including Anafiel even if he did feel he recognized Anafiel. The name was a foreign kind of name but it rolled off of one's tongue. Such a lovely name and fit Anafiel well with the handsome appearance he had. A soft breeze picked up causing some strands of his soft white hair to move along with the breeze. The rustle of leaves could be heard as the breeze picked up.

Anafiel felt his face grow hot and, for once, was thankful for his wolfen form; it hid his blushing quite efficiently.
The other male's confident smirk, the secluded atmosphere, the awkwardness of it all...
...The beta repressed the urge to shift unfomfortably in the tree.
Stupid, poor excuse for a beta, I am.
Careful not to let his embarassment show, Anafiel nodded calmly, his voice cool and collected.
"Mm. Riko, then. 'Tis a pleasure."
He tasted the name with his tongue; Riko... Definately not one he'd heard before. But nonetheless, the man's combination of strikingly pale hair and earthen eyes threatened to send Anafiel into a homesick frenzy.
Again, he repressed the urge to sigh, and smiled (albeit sadly) instead.
He laughed humorlessly.
"Life's been treating me as well as it should, I suppose," he offered vaguely, averting his gaze to the sparkling waters below.
Anafiel suddenly felt rather warm. Under different circumstances, he might've shifted to human form to take a dip in the clear, refreshing pool... but, strangely, Riko had him feeling a bit more than self-conscious.
Instead, he stared, hoping the longing wasn't apparent in his topaz-flecked eyes.
"What about you, Riko? What brings you here?

(( OOC : Sorry for the crappy post... ))
(( Hehe, Anafiel's such an uke little b*****d. XD ))

Cool, twinkling topaz eyes took in the quiet river with a distant haze clouding their golden depths as Firefly sat in her tree, silently musing whatever it was that elders mused over. Skylark was busying herself with the newly ripened blackberries, leaving the elder fae to wander aimlessly until summoned. The young wolf that she had agreed to teach today hadn't shown up, either, which left Firefly with nothing to do but come here, her favorite thinking spot. Something about the way the water took on an innocent, benign gleam in the sunlight calmed the elder's mind, making thinking that much easier. It was just peaceful here, as if the chaos of the pack hadn't been able to spoil its tranquility even through decades of living here.

The fae sighed, snuggling back against the rough bark of the oak tree she was in and brushing a few stray strands of snow white hair from her eyes. Nothing to do now but sit. Sit and ponder. And ponder she did.
