Not for me, I wasn't executing the moves at such a slow rate as it did. The first one was just... fail...

To use Zero Suit Samus at the start of a match, select Samus on the character screen and hold the following button before the match starts with the corresponding controller that is being used:

Gamecube/Classic controller: Hold the R button
Wii Remote with Nunchuk: Hold the Z button
Wii Remote: Hold the Minus (-) button

cant you change between them both during a battle? or is that only by smash ball?

Lag really sucks when you are playing a fast character like Meta Knight or WW Link. Their speed means nothing D:

The lag is bad based off of location more than anything. I don't think they can fix that part of it, but the speed should overall get better some time later since Brawl is such a recent game. They still are having the problems with battles against those not registered as your friends. Hopefully, that is fixed soon sweatdrop

Oh, I guess I didn't mention it, but I was referring to friend battles. I only had much problems due to long distances rather than multiple people connecting at once. You are definitely right when it comes to battles against random people.
