Conrad smiled and nodded. "Sound good." He replied and then started to clean everything up. "Then we can work on weaponry too." He said with a soft smirk.

"Right." Alyson said, determined to learn how to protect herself. She wasn't going to be caught off guard ever again! In the meantime though . . . She picked up the paper and flipped to her daily sudoku puzzle. There was time for a bit of entertainment.

Conrad couldn't help but smile. "Oh!" He said handing her a book saying: Sudoku. Oh it. "I bought this for you." He explained. "So you don't have to wait for next weeks paper when you're finished." He went to leave then paused. "I'm going to go shopping, do you want to come or wait here?"

Alyson grinned as she was handed the Sudoku book. Then, she heard Conrad invite her to go shopping. "I've been cooped up in this place for too long. Of course I'm going with you!" she cheered, rushing to get herself together so that she could be presentable to the outside world.

Conrad watched her and smiled softly. She was rather adorable when excited. "Now, Alyson, be careful, okay?" He said when she returned. "It's been a while, the linguistic change has been great since well. . . you were alive? For lack of a better word. And some of the items have changed names."

Alyson looked a bit skeptical. "It can't have changed that much." she said, unable to believe that the English language had gotten beyond her comprehension. Surely, she'd be fine communicating?

Conrad smiled and took her to a car locking the house up tight, then drove her to the supermarket with a list of things he needed to buy, and the money he all but stole from Marcus, and pulled into the parking lot. He drove at the speed limit so she could have time to look at all the things of the outside world too. "Stick close to me okay?" He warned. "The humans are pretty. . . rowdy in these places. I don't want you getting lost."

Alyson gazed out the window, frowning a bit. Since when did the city get so big? There were even more buildings now . . . and they were much taller . . . She frowned as they got to the store and Conrad told her to stay close. "We're going into a store. How lost can I get?" she asked, with an eyebrow raise.

Conrad smirked holding her hand and taking her into an elevator pressing the ground button. There was a slight jolt as it moved. "You'll see." He said smiling a little at her. "Don't worry, I'll keep you safe."

Alyson followed Conrad, not commenting on the hand-holding thing, mainly because she was too busy looking around at the world outside her house, so Conrad was basically pulling her along. Then she noticed they'd entered a small room . . . and the door closed . . . oh! It was an elevator. But . . . where was the person who manned it? She looked at the button that he pressed and her eyes widened. "How does that work?" she asked him in a hushed whisper.

Conrad smiled softly at her. "Well you see." He began telling her all about how the technology had evolved in small words. Exactly how Alice explained it too him. He was very careful not to confuse her in any way.

Alyson tried to follow. She really did, but despite her best efforts to keep up, and Conrad's best attempts to be clear and not lose her, she got lost in the explanation by the time they hit their floor. "Er . . . maybe you can tell me once we get back home." she murmured as they got off, a bit of a headache coming on as she tried to take in all that information at once. Oh, she really needed a telly so she could keep up on current events. Maybe she'd go to the library and search through the newspapers. Surely they'd have some valuable data! All she needed to do was to find a library.

Conrad stopped not long after he emerged into the fray of people. His hand was empty. "Ally?!" He called panicked. Oh god no! "Ally!" He had to calm down. Listen for her heart beat. He knew it well. His eyes snapped to a near by technology shop and smiled. He stalked to it noticing a few televisions playing the news. "Ally?" He asked hoping she could hear him.

Alyson had been walking along, her thoughts on libraries and newscasts from the television, not really paying attention to the fact that she was no longer holding Conrad's hand. Suddenly, she noticed movement out of the corner of her eye and she turned to see what it was. Her eyes widened. No. Way. Like a magnet had pulled her, she moved to the glass window separating her and the tvs, her face pressed against the glass as she watched. The picture was so clear! Like the people on the other side were actually there but tiny! It almost seemed like she could reach out and touch the people on the other side of the telly! She didn't even notice when Conrad found her, just so absorbed in the amazement of it all.

Oh you're so beautiful. Conrad thought standing behind her protecting her from other's who'd try to hit on her. "Ally." He said putting his arms around her from behind. "Don't be alarmed. There's a man not too far away who was eyeing you in a horrid way." His actions were in an attempt to make the man stop looking. And it did.
