We all know that our time in this world is limited, and that eventually all of us will end up underneath some sheet, never to wake up. And yet it is always a surprise when it happens to someone we know. It is like walking up the stairs to your bedroom in the dark, and thinking there is one more stair than there is. Your foot falls down, through the air, and there is a sickly moment of dark surprise as you try and readjust the way you thought of things.❜

The poor guy was startled when he'd hear a loud shriek that came from the opposite direction, and when he'd peek his head out, he'd take notice of a.. puppy? He blinked, turned away and rubbed his eye before he'd return his gaze towards her direction. A puppy? No. That was just Zara, who seemed rather startled at first, in which her emotions soon escalated to something less gentle compared to before. The sapphire orbs that held such frustration would send a shiver down his spine, and he'd find himself in a tight situation once he heard the words she so loudly screamed at him. "I mistook you for a man- I'm sorry-..!" he whined, dodging once he noticed the rifle pointed towards him. He wasn't quick enough, though, and the paint would graze across his shoulder, yet enough to be considered a hit.

"Then.. I guess you're right." he nodded. He'd look at Summer when she spoke, but despite her reassurance, it still felt a little wrong to be shooting women. Or perhaps he was just too gentle, that may be the case. However, his struggles were short lived when she'd finally take her first victim. His golden orbs glistened with excitement and he'd cheer for her as he grinned from ear to ear. "Great job! That was an amazing shot!" with a pat on her shoulder, he'd return his gaze towards her victim, however, he would lay eyes upon a much more.. interesting sight and the man would find himself bursting into laughter. Was that what they looked like when he picked her up in the grocery store? She seemed to be struggling, though. 'Splat.' A bright shade of blue would colour the wall behind him, and he'd quickly duck behind his barricade.

Perhaps he'd take his aim at her teammate. Would he drop her though? Rigel paused and gave it some thought. Probably not.

                                                                                -Dice Roll Number: 3-
He pulled his trigger, aiming for the man (Lysander)'s arm, but with how quick he moved, his bullet would brush across Zara's shoulder, landing upon the white canvas behind her. A miss. With surprise clouding his features once more, he'd feel terrified of what she might think of him. He wasn't trying to aim at her, and he hoped she wouldn't take it the wrong way. He's hand enough of her fist of fury and he need not experience it again. With a small impact against his biceps, Rigel would snap out of his trance, and his gaze would dart towards the possible direction of where his shooter was, or rather.. where the laughter was coming from.

                                                                                -Dice Roll Number: 8-
'Splat'. The thigh (Alexander)? Rigel supposed that was close enough, and he'd quickly made his way towards the other side, away from where he once stood. Receiving two bullets in a row, that's pretty bad.

His gaze eventually fell upon her, and a playful smile tugged against the corner of her lips. His expressions never failed to amuse her, and she'd find her tails swaying behind her in an excited manner. Her? Sneaky? Perhaps so. Eventually, she'd blow him a small kiss before she disappeared behind the wall. She'd pick up on Zara's scent, and her features would take on her animal traits, narrow eyes, elliptical irises, her cornea a pool of brilliant gold. There she is. Being held up by a man..? The fox would stifle her laughter but once she noticed the lacy lingerie the siren wore beneath, she'd burst out laughing. Oh, such an easy target. She supposed she owed that man.. or woman..(?) a thanks. It didn't take much aiming to get a good shot with how Zara was being used as a shield. She was like the black human target in a shooting range, and Vixen found it rather funny to look at. Now where should she aim for..?

-Dice Roll Number: 4-
A mischievous grin curved her lips, and she'd take her aim at her right..? Left..? Left. She pulled the trigger, watching the bullet collide against her chest, dyeing her clothes a shade of purple. She may not be able to get back at Alexander for his shot earlier, but she supposed Zara would suffice. For now. "Happy shooting, you hobbit!" she exclaimed, and her gaze would now fix upon the man(?) behind her, "Well, now, thanks for the easy target, sweetheart~!" Vixen sent him a wink before she disappeared behind her barricade, now, running into a woman with pale blue locks who claimed to know the fox. Foxy mama, she was addressed as. The fox smiled, growing fond of the new nickname she received. However, confusion settled upon her features soon after, and she'd place her hands against her hips. "Mama's certainly having loads of fun. But.. have we met somewhere before?" she asked. Perhaps she had the wrong person? Then again, that would be quite impossible given the unique appearance Vixen took. Large ears, nine fluffy tails. Such a sight would be quite hard to forget. Before she could question any further, a figure would appear behind Lelwani. A.. floating figure? "Watch out-..!" the fox shoved her out of the way, however, it seems the bullet still got her somehow. The fox eyed the ever so familiar man, her lips curving into an unamused frown. "That's so unfair, Sahar! You cheater!" she stomped her foot. Then again, there were no rules saying they can't use their abilities after all..

She hissed to herself before she quickly looked around the corner. Seeing Rigel get shot, she then quickly looked in that direction. Spotting the blonde male (Alexander), she growled as she quickly took aim. Shooting at the same time as her partner, his bullet made a hit while hers splattered on the wall behind the male. Growling again, she quickly hid once more. "Well. Now they know we're here. So we should find a new hiding spot." She said as she grabbed her teammate's arm and led him behind her, running as fast as she could to another obstacle, he could continue apologizing to the girl after the game was over. The smell of paint was starting to make her a little light headed doe to her enhanced sense of smell, but she pushed through it. Loosing her grip on Rigel's hand, she then dived behind an obstacle and pressed her back up against the wall. Just assuming Rigel would hide next to her, she then peered around the corner, her gun ready to be fired and fire she did. Splat, the paintball hit it's target (Miki) on the back as she was running. Quickly hiding, she leaned her head against the wall and chuckled a little before her nose crinkled a bit and she rubbed at it. Despite the irritation to her nose, this was really fun.

Tyrese was sure Bree was a lot more excited about today's city-wide competition than any of her three companions were. He was hopeful it would be fun, but had his skepticism; the other two didn't appear as enthused either. They divided the passengers for their separate rides, as if they'd be able to squeeze two men in the backseat to begin with. He had Sela anyhow, today was his turn for 'bring-you-parent-to-school day' and he'd arranged to be there first thing. He'd been hearing a lot of 'I miss mommy's for the last couple weeks and the pup was even beginning to go as far as to have him up at twelve or so every morning asking to lay in bed with him- them. He'd return with her back downstairs and they'd fall asleep again on the air mattress or on the couch. It was worrying him at this point, so despite being shocked, he was inadvertently encouraged and relieved to hear that Hakem wanted to join them on their deterrent pit stop. However, trust him when he says it wasn't to help with Sela. The older wolf visably became flustered after ten minutes of having the child there during the ride, lifting his hands to massage his temples and stare silently out of the window until he parked in front of the school. Tantrums weren't abnormal for Sela's age, he hoped to make his uncle understand that. He gave up after two of his explanatory statements were met with no response. He sighed.

After speaking briefly to Sela's class, he kissed his child and told her to have a good day. Hakem met him back at the car and the ride across town was a lot less tense. Tyrese was ready to delve into the subject of what Hakem wanted and why he rode along, stopping at the first red light they encountered and whipping a cigarette and lighter from his pocket to light and inhale. He was wearing a patch, had been since Wednesday, but was feeling moody despite still lighting up when he felt the urge. He was stressing again, but he noticed that he always found a reason to regardless of the conditions of his actual situation. A worry wart, as the saying goes. Hakem, meanwhile, broke the ice as to what they were here for, starting off by questioning what had been happening in the Teagan household while he and Victoria were home adjusting to her shift. A lot of questions about where Finn was and statuses on the follow up police reports about Bree's kidnapper. Which led to questions about how her condition had been, ran headlong into and screeched to a halt when asked how much longer he planned to be living there with her. Now it was the former teacher's turn to have any attempted worlds met with uncomfortable silence. A half concerned and disbelieving, 'Are you two...' He'd lash his head from one side to the other, let the hint seep in that they needed to move this talk forward.

The tables flipped and they talked about how Victoria was doing, how she handled her change and what kind of wolf she was. The moment he mentioned her being an alpha brought the father to laugh, guessing that mean they butted heads often. Hakem seemed like he got some things off his chest, hearing it said lulled the other man into feeling comfortable enough to ask about soul mates. What his uncle thought about moving on from the one who had been proven to be. If he thought it was possible for soulmates to be incompatible. Then he asked about imprints, how the older wolf had gotten over his own and how long it had taken. By the time they finally arrived at Essence, Tyrese was feeling better about the previously unliked family memeber. There was common ground between them after all, it seemed. Putting out his cigarette and flicking the butt into the ash tray on his dash, the wolf checked his hair and shut off his engine, then climbed out of his SUV. Hakem caught up with him halfway on his staircase climb, holding the door to let them both inside where the action was. They were pretty late from when the announcement said the event would begin; from what he was hearing, they'd be walking in on full action. Their awkward bonding shifted to the back of his mind, the man shuffled over to the counter and checked in.

His name was checked off, he glanced the list of participants, then received and dressed in his gear. Hand stopping short of the helmet, his brow furrowed and he scowled. A taunt from his uncle warrented a 'tch' his way before he snapped his goggles free and opened the bag hooked on his shoulder. His kid was messy, so he'd kept this on his person without realizing. Nevertheless it was handy, the author offering the second wolf a cleaning wipe before shrugging and wiping down his eye wear. When he looked up, the attending staff announcing that he and Hakem could enter together, he directed a flustered blink and gradual return of the fist bumb offered by his uncle. "I suppose." With that the older man was off, Tyrese pulling his goggles down before strolling quickly after. They were welcomed into the makeshift area with flying gunfire, Tyrese taken aback but orbs falling on a single fleeing victim. Here goes nothing. With a huff he followed, lining up behind each pile of randomly scattered barriers. Checking his gun, holding it with the plastic replicas of iron sights facing the ceiling, he trotted along with eyes peeled. He was happy to see other purple teams members across the room and in his current position he stopped and took cover.

Kurisuchin Saiyuki

The first person he saw whom wasn't wearing purple had short brown hair and grey, perhaps blue-grey eyes. He snapped his palm against his goggles, tried looking down the sights, and spammed the trigger. No good, three shots wasted and snapping loudly against the paper lined walls. A flustered clinch of his jaw as he tucked down and moved, attempting to lower his likelihood of being spotted this way. The scope on this thing was supposed to assist his aim! But maybe his luck was just that bad? Snorting, he next stopped behind a half column, the kind a vase would sit upon. It wasn't fully protective, but then again he was only using it to prop up his gun. A fox eared blonde was just leaving base and he figured the situation made for an easy practice shot. He was rewarded with another two misses, a groan likely giving him away from anyone who hadn't plainly seen him already. "Oh come onnnnn." He had never held a gun before, so perhaps he should cut himself some slack. But still, the odds of getting a hit by now should be higher! Shaking his head and getting low to fit behind the next crate, the wolf kept up his prowl. It was because he looked behind him now that he realized Hakem was no where at all nearby. "Tch."

_Sweet_Dreamer_Kayla_

Another brunette crossed his sights, her curly hair longer than the last brunettes and her eyes a deep attractive amethyst. His heart skipped a beat, an instinct of expectation that the faces in the room would all replicate the woman's he loved and he'd dive into a psychotic repeat of the beach. A few blinks proved it wrong for now and he shook his head, shaking slightly nonetheless as he bared down on the trigger. Four damn shots and he was still missing this s**t?! "SON OF A BLOODY ********, COME ON ALREA- dy." A quick pinch with his fingers to the bridge of his nose and he forced a calming breath through his nostrils. Next move was to take off full sprint and clear the area entirely after his second outburst. He didn't have the patience for this, he wanted another damn cigarette. Damn it damn it! Another attempt at calming his mood with a second, deeper breath. How many times had he gotten shot at by now? With his level of fuss he'd have quite a few people possibly painting a bullseyes on his a**, but whatever. At this rate it wasn't like he was winning anyway. He didn't have a wish to make even if he did win. Better not to start wining like b***h over it, the whole objective was to have fun. Have fun, not think about nicotine. Not think about...

ShadowStar369

Another target, yet another brunette. This one looked older than all the others, all of which he would have pegged for teens. This one was alone, smelled of feline and paint (everything smelled like pain, actually.) This time he made sure to focus for real, the author lifting his gun and lining it with his pupal. Take your time, wait until she strays into your cross hairs. He inhaled, let his instincts absorb the stimuli in the air and bleed it into his muscle movements. He closed one eye, held his breath, and shot. It hit, the purple spattering exactly where he wanted it to just barely beside her arm. Her vest stained purple where her ribs would be, the father practically slumping onto his face after a victorious fist pump and an exhale. Took long enough!!! Now he could go home happy, wouldn't have to shamefully grumble that he hadn't hit a single person. Guns weren't his thing, that much he learned. Licking his lips and swallowing, Tyrese did recover to check on his victim again. How fast would she move? Had she seen him- heard him? She was a shifter of sorts as well, had to be. The wolf wouldn't underestimate her, would see if he could sneak around her and go on. Or maybe take another shot? Depends on if she was still vulnerable, so for now he simply attempted to shift his position.

▁ ▂ ▃ ▄ ▅ ▆ ▇ Camil 'Rye' Falkov Dragonkin
❛Sometimes you have to give up, not because you didn't try to move mountains to be with someone.
You give up because they didn't try to move mountains to be with you.
They settled for their life and the people in it, even when it isn't what they really want.
You weren't meant to live a lie.
Hold your head high and know that you won't ever settle for that misery.

Let go.❜

It seems the shorter male has caught Camil addressing him as 'bones' but he paid no mind to how the skeleton had reacted. He wasn't wrong, the woman did call him bones, though that struck his curiosity. Why was that? Was it because he's underweight? He'd brush his thoughts off, glad that the man had finally released the grip around his hand once they reached the designated area. He'd rub his wrist, feeling the heat clouded upon his cheeks though they died down fairly quickly. His golden orbs would glisten ever so slightly when he took notice of the nod of approval coming from 'Bones'. What did he say his name was? His eyebrows furrowed, 'Mara' was all he got, and he wasn't even sure if he had gotten the name right. Camil breathed a small sigh, deciding to give up on learning other people's names. It wasn't as if he'd keep in touch with them to begin with.

"A-Alright-.." he answered, rather startled by the small tug upon his sleeves. He'd keep his body low, following after the skeleton though it seems his words were cut off midway through. Did something happen? He cringed at the strong smell of paint that attacked his nose. It felt almost painful for a short second there, though he managed to get himself together shortly after. Just as he was about to move out of the way, he felt a violent push and the man would find himself on the ground. An accidental shot would be fired as the man was caught by surprise, his thoughts still unable to process what had happened though he knew he felt a 'paint'ful (I CAN'T BRING MYSELF TO LEAVE OUT THIS PUN IMSORRY) sting upon his arms and once again, his nose would be tackled by the horrendous smell given his enhanced senses. His expression darkened, obviously finding frustration in these sorts of events. What the hell was Rigel thinking, bringing him to a place like this. His eyes darted towards where the shot came from, catching a figure darting behind one of the barricades. This was too violent for him, too much for him to handle, and if he could just find where Rigel is, he'd demand his brother to take him back home. To the hospital, for that matter. His vision would turn black for a moment, and he found himself blinded. Was the medication taking effect? Was his overdose not completely cleared out yet? Was this the side effect? His eyebrows furrowed into knots, until he felt himself tugged by his arm and dragged towards another area. W-wait.. he couldn't see.

When they came to a stop, he'd regain his vision once again. The man pulled off his goggles, finding it terribly uncomfortable to have on, revealing the strange looking pair of elliptical eyes kept hidden beneath. His surroundings appeared 'negative', as if a snake's. He could see the 'heat' given off by bodies, but he still couldn't be too sure given the lack of colours. "The smell-.." he spoke in an inaudible tone as he hissed painfully at his discomfort, revealing the pair of fangs that would protrude underneath his lips ever so slightly. The dragon always found that aspect frustrating. He never seemed to be able to keep his cuspids from growing whenever his abilities kicked in. He'd feel a painful throb on his bottom lip and soon, the taste of blood would linger upon the tip of his tongue. He punctured his lip again, didn't he? Camil rolled his eyes, eventually turning his head in the direction when he felt a vibration within his ear. Where was it? Nine o'clock? His gaze darted almost immediately, landing upon a girl claiming her victory hit upon a.. floating man? He narrowed his gaze. What team was she on? Camil lifted his rifle, his pupils once again turning into a fine line down the center. She wasn't team white. The shade seemed a little off, a little.. darker.

-Dice Roll Number: 2-
He pulled his trigger, feeling the impact travel from his fingertips down to his spine. A hit. Camil moved backwards, keeping himself hidden out of sight, out of.. whatever that may expose him to the horrendous smell of paint. He supposed a gun wasn't too hard to wield, and he'd shift his gaze back towards the skeleton, confusion clouding his features. "Am I.. doing this right?" and he'd ask, as if a child searching for confirmation.

A squeal could be heard as the round painfully popped her in the rear and another on her leg. Well at least the paint color matched her eyes. She called out from where she was, "Well I think someone did, but I didn't see who. Looks like even your own teammate tried to get you.." She chuckles as she slinked quietly behind another obstacle. She caught glimpse of her wolf and smiled warmly. His voice was a welcome thing.. she couldn't wait to see him covered in white...

She took aim and fired off 6 rounds. The first two missed while the other four found their mark in his rear, his side, his back, and the back of his head. She winced slightly when she popped the back of his head, but she would make up for that later. For now, he was covered. She grinned as she quickly dove behind another obstacle. Hopefully, he wouldnt be too mad.

❝It made her hunger for things she could never have.

▶ ▏The mother had decided to leave the two women be when it seemed that most of her teammates had fled the base. She intended to find a good spot to hide... Possibly a stairwell? It would limit her escape options, but it would give her a great vantage point against her enemies. The stench of paint was making her a little dizzy, although with time she appeared to he getting used to it. The helmet was extremely irritating, however. Not only did it reek of another's sweat, it was heavy and weighed her down a little. What if she just left it in a safe place and brought it back at the end of the game? That seemed like a good idea. Lai rested against a covered wall and set her gun down beside her, struggling to remove the helmet. When her head was finally free of the protective gear, she breathed a sigh of relief and picked up her gun once more. She got up and scanned her surroundings, spotting a staircase not too far away. With her sights set on the stairs, she became oblivious to her surroundings and failed to notice someone aiming at her until it was too late. The brunette heard a faint 'click' nearby and instinctively picked up her pace, almost breaking out into a sprint. And with good timing too, as a coloured spray of paint collided suddenly against the wall beside her. She'd only just missed being shot. She had to be more careful! Lai continued fleeing the area until she picked up a strange scent. A familiar scent. Her pace slowed until she came to an almost complete stop. The colour seemed to drain from her tanned features and she looked around wildly, appearing much like a deer trapped in the headlights. A wolf! There was a wolf nearby. She could smell it. Her heart ached for the scent, as the father of her son had been a wolf. But this scent was different. It wasn't as sweet smelling as Jean's had been. Her shoulders drooped and she shook her head. How stupid she had been to get her hopes up. Her husband was dead. She had watched him die, for Christ's sake. Maybe it was just the paint fumes getting to her. Yeah, that had to be it. But just in case... Her head tilted a fraction to the side and she sniffed deeply. Yep. It wasn't Jean. And as if to prove her point, someone shot her at that exact moment. The dancer jumped, dropping her helmet and almost dropping her gun as well in the process. She was obviously startled, but recovered quickly. "b*****d!" She hissed, her eyes latching on to what appeared to be a fist pumping the air. Now was the time for a little payback. Lai inched closer to the wolf, memorising his scent in case he escaped and she had to track him. She lifted her weapon and trained it on the area ahead of her. "Come to mama..." She murmured, pulling the trigger the moment she had someone in her sights. Unconsciously holding her breath as her paintball escaped the barrel and headed straight towards her target. It happened so quickly but... She hit him! She hit him! But where did she hit him? Damn. Her aim was a little off. It had hit his hip, even though she had been aiming for his chest. However, Lai found that she quite liked the look of orange splattered upon the canvas that was her opponent. Without waiting long enough to see his reaction, she took off at full speed, fleeing his location. She stopped only to pick up her fallen helmet as she passed before continuing onwards. Her heart was in her throat and she felt so... So excited! This was fun. She almost didn't feel guilty for leaving Carlos behind. Almost. Speaking of her energetic child, the changeling made a mental note to enrol him into the local school as soon as she could. He needed to hang around kids his age. And although that meant that they wouldn't be able to spend as much time together, it was for the best. ▏◀

The fallen angel was still hiding in that spot, the sounds of shuffling still audible in her ears. Knowing that her teammates were now scattered, or possibly congregating in another spot far from her, she was on her own at the current moment. It was then that she heard a chirp and the pellet landed on her hip. Turned out that the blue-haired winged creature was retaliating for the splat. Immediately, she fired two shots at the winged creature, one pellet missing by a hair's breadth (4th day dice roll: 1) but the other ended up on the helmet (4th day dice roll: 6). It was not much, but she had to go with that. It was then that another splotch landed, this time on her chest, but the figure slinked away before her orbs would spot the form. Gritting her teeth, she had to take a deep breath, keeping herself in a low position. And then, another splat that startled her but at least it was a miss. Whoever attempted to startle her must be gone by now.

When she moved her head up, she had to move again to another obstacle. Her athletic legs were her ally as she transferred, and she kept her position low but her eyes were set on the fox girl, Miki, and the tanned male (Camil) speaking to his companion (Xio). Immediately, she fired another two shots at the target, the first pellet hitting on the tail (4th day dice roll: 4) but the other missing the mark (4th day dice roll: 1). As for the tanned male, he became Hikaru's next target, two more shots zooming straight to him. One pellet was now on his arm (4th day dice roll: 6) and the other missed, landing on the floor (4th day dice roll: 1). Once again, she dashed away from their sight, moving to another hiding spot. This time, it was another pillar, but taller and a bit wider than earlier. She adjusted her helmet as she kept herself concealed for anyone wanting to take on her soon.

❛He had known he wanted her, that for all time, but he hadn't realized what was between them.
He knew it was more than his body and mind.
More than his heart..

She was entrenched in his soul.❜

▇ ▇▇ ▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇

○I'm feeling a little calmer now, but I feel very guilty.
●I'm speaking to Rina at the moment.
○I'm currently wearing something casual.
●I have $200 on me and $800 stashed in the bank.
○I'm currently in a relationship with Rina Sohane.

▇ ▇▇ ▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇

He'd find it very strange, how she'd smile over those three very simple words, how it was mere words alone that would make her feel happy. Was it really this pleasant to hear? Is love this.. pleasant? For all he knew, it was the most frustrating thing he had to deal with, the most disturbing feeling he's ever experienced yet at the same time, there were so many moments it brought a smile to his face, a smile he thought he'd never have again. When she'd nuzzle her face into his hands, he could feel the small flutter within his heart, the feeling he always had whenever he was with her, the warmth he could feel that radiated off her skin yet at the same time, it felt cold where her tears once ran across. He rubbed her cheeks with his thumb in a circular motion, expression softening at the petite hand of hers that would ghost over his. He'd frown at her words, finding it a little cringe-worthy to listen to though he couldn't help the small smile that would tug against the corners of his lips, he couldn't help the warm feeling he received when he'd hear her words, her confession of love. She meant what she said, and he'd feel a little bad that she had to settle with someone like him. He had always been worried that one day, someone would come by and sweep her off her feet, and he wouldn't be able to hold onto her because he knew very well that guy would be a better option compared to someone like him. However, his worries were rest assured when she'd tell him over and over again that he was what she wanted, that he was who she loved. Wholeheartedly. "I just-.. sometimes the words people say would linger in my mind, about how this is wrong, how we're so young, that we don't understand anything.. They're right about that, though. We are young, and I don't know a thing about love. I'm just afraid that someone better would come by, and I wouldn't know how to keep you with me. I can't ******** keep you with me if I know he might be a much better option! But I don't know! It's just so annoying that I love you. You just forced your way into my life and now I can't seem to get myself together when you're not around. I didn't think I'd be capable of loving someone this much." he frowned, feeling her slender fingers tighten around his hands. A light shade of pink would dust her cheeks and he'd still find the sight of her mesmerizing despite her eyes that had turned red from the tears she shed. Perhaps that was one of the reasons he got puppies to start with, to have something to keep him busy. To have a reason to wake up to when things got busy and when he found himself too occupied to spend time with Rina. Perhaps he simply felt lonely, maybe he simply wanted companionship, but Seth grew to love the puppies for what they were. Sure, he was irresponsible for getting them as replacements at first but they became the love of his life, and perhaps he was wrong to put those two canines before Rina, because no matter what, he had to put his woman first, he had to put her above everything else. Just like how she did him. He hadn't really spent his time all alone. He had his group of friends he held close to him, and he understood what it was like to be loved. He just never realized the need of having someone to 'love' in his life, the need to search for a partner. For all he knew, his friends would only complain about how troublesome it was. "I don't need anyone to love me. I don't give a s**t about that. I just need you, that's all. I only need you to tell me you'll stay, to tell me you love me." and he'd feel the heat gather upon his cheeks, feeling the embarrassment of speaking the truth. His golden orbs flicked upwards when she'd remove his hand from her face. Had he said something wrong again? Was she upset? His frown deepened, finding it rather frustrating. Having honest conversations were very tough for him, if anything, he'd avoid it altogether. However, the kiss upon his cheek would startle him, and he'd find himself a blushing mess. His cheeks flushed red, and he'd stutter as he tried to come up with something to say. How many times does he have to tell her to stop doing things like that. Before he could protest, he'd feel something warm press against his lips and he would falter, whatever 'tough guy' facade he put up would come crumbling down. This time, he'd pull her closer, tighten his grip around her waist as he returned her kiss passionately, craving the touch he longed for. Her fingers would tangle within his red locks, and a satisfied hum would escape his lips. Her lips felt so infuriating, so placating. It felt so.. long since they shared this closeness with one another and he could feel the same desperation they both felt. Hard as it was to admit, it felt comforting. It felt reassuring. When she finally broke the kiss that left him short of breath, he'd let out an impatient groan, but he knew better than to do such things in public.

When she'd apologize, he'd fall silent, and he'd reflect on his own actions, wondering if she took anything he said to heart. He didn't mean anything he said earlier, they were simply harsh words spoken in order to spite her. He wondered what she kept bottled up within herself, and he'd blame himself for not being there to listen to her problems, for not staying up a little longer to listen to her speak. He thought he was being considerate, but perhaps he just hasn't tried hard enough. "N-no.. I-I uh.. I don't mind if it's with you. So don't worry, you won't drive me away. I'm sorry if I haven't been considerate enough lately- I didn't mean what I said.. my temper just- it- it just got in the way-" to be precise, his temper had always gotten the best of him. He's the epitome of the saying 'old habits die hard'. It wasn't possible that she'd drive him away. Perhaps for a short period of time when he'd retreat back into his 'cave' and let things sink in. What was he going to do without her by his side? He had grown accustomed to being taken care of at times, and to suddenly stop buying things in pairs would be a little too hard for him to get used to after how long it took for him to pick up this habit. The redhead held her close and rested his chin on the crown of her head, taking notice of how small she had become, or perhaps she had always been this small to start with. He fell silent, pondering to himself, internally arguing but eventually, he'd part his lips to speak, and he'd tell her: "A few days." he paused. "Stay over tonight. For a few days, we'll decide from there." if she wanted to so badly, he supposed he could compromise a little more this time around, put more effort into things. He supposed it could be a way for him to get a little more patient. He may not like it, but he supposed it's for the best.

"...And yesterday, too. I... umm, got caught up in a... armed robbery..." and he froze. Did he hear it wrong? "Look at me and say it again." he pulled away, his expression darkening altogether. Was that why she didn't pick up her phone when he called yesterday? Why did she keep it a secret until now? "And the robber that got me was a creep, too." and that was enough to pop his bubble. "Why the ******** didn't you tell me until now?!" he cried out in frustration, but despite so, his gaze would examine her, as if searching for any possible injuries inflicted upon her. His fingers would quiver. Out of what? Anger? Worry? Fear? He didn't know. All he knew was that he was angry he couldn't be there when it happened. Who were those people? Did the police arrest them? "You should've told me earli-" he paused, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath. There was no need for him to snap at her. It wasn't her fault, and it was in the past. As long as she isn't hurt, as long as she was alright. The next time he opened his eyes, his gaze would softened noticeably, and he'd hold her. "Thank goodness you're alright. He didn't touch you, did he? You're not hurt, are you?" and he'd wrap his arms around her as tightly as he could, as if he feared she might disappear. Perhaps it wouldn't have happened if he would just be a little more patient. Perhaps if he controlled his own actions then she wouldn't have to feel to terrible all the time.

Perhaps it was him who brought her misfortunes?

Lysander tried to make himself as small as possible whilst using his teammate as a shield. He didn't want the guy (Rigel, he'd been called) to shoot him as payback for earlier. If he wasn't going to get a number out of it (and a few dates) then he didn't want to get hit. The pain(t) was only worth it if he got a little action. Give and take, people. Not 'hit and skip'. Unfortunately he seemed to have picked up a rather feisty bundle, and could only hope that she wouldn't attack him. Otherwise he'd probably drop her. "Don't move around so much, cutie." He noticed her action of pulling her shorts down and could only imagine what she was wearing underneath. Maybe he'd get a look later? Here's hoping... 'Splat'. The blonde's grip tightened around the female's waist when he was suddenly struck twice on his legs. Why the hell was he being targeted all of a sudden? And before he could move, he was shot at again! Although the lousy shooter missed, it's still the thought that counts! Tch. Hit him up with numbers not ammo. A woman called out to him and he grinned in response, planning to find her later and coerce a date out of her. She hadn't shot him yet, so that was a good sign.

There are two sides to every person
User Image

"Easy there, tiger. I'm letting you down now. Just don't... Hit me." Lysander had only just begun lowering his tiny companion to the ground when they were shot at once more. In response to the renewed onslaught of bullets, he held onto her even tighter and ran. He managed to miss a pellet, but what still hit on the arm. Just his luck. Not only was he suddenly a popular target, but he was using a teammate as a shield. A teammate who would probably attack him viciously the moment he set her down. It wasn't the first time he's dealt with a rather... Small person who liked to lash out whenever someone mentioned their height. Or made a point of not mentioning their height. Their really wasn't any way to win with short people. But their bodacious bodies always more than made up for their terrible attitudes. And his little teammate was more than attractive enough to have him forgiving anything she did to him. Though he should probably make an escape plan in case she decided to bite. Yes. Drop her and run. Or try and win her over. Either option will work.

One we reveal to the world
User Image

"Okay, tiger. We're safe, so I'm setting you down now." Lysander had cleared the area and was presently hiding behind another hidden object that was large enough to hide them both for the time being. He set his tiny bundle of rage down and prepared himself for an attack, closing his single eye and tensing his body in anticipation of a hit. Why did tiny people have such short tempers? Being small was cute. Heck, in his opinion, being short made one better in bed. Though that could have something to do with him only really liking people smaller than himself, rather than actual facts. "Before you hit me... Can I please have your phone number?" He felt like it was worth a shot. He would feel satisfied even if he only got one number from the whole event. Just one and he'll be happy.

And one we keep hidden inside

The ginger-haired was almost there to his new hiding spot when he heard a splat not far from him. It was a good thing that it missed but he knew that it was a form of retaliation, definitely from Jessie. His heart sank at the thought, but he should not be distracted from the game. He should focus on what to do next to at least earn some points for his team. It was then that he heard an accompaniment of voices not far from his hearing, but he should wait until the coast was clear. Indeed, he was now worried about his teammates and he should return to them later once the enemies had been cleared off.

But now, as he was about to emerge from his next hiding spot, a blond female caught his eye and knowing that she was on the white team, he shot at the target twice, one landing on her arm (4th day dice roll: 4) and the other missing her by an inch (4th day dice roll: 5) Once again, he had to run as fast as he could before she could catch him. His next hiding spot was another tall pillar, just enough for him to squeeze into the gap. It was just at this one time that he was glad that he was a bit dwarfish for his height.

Murder. Zara was out for blood now. Starting off with this cross dressing a*****e with lack of boundaries, using her as a means of protection. The siren was glad that people wer targeting him now more than bfore. She was glad he was getting all the hits, too. Take him down. Avenge her! But of course she was being dramatic. Zara let out a small yelp as the male's grip on her waist tightened. She clung on to him as he ran for cover, slightly fearing him dropping her. Somewhere along the lines, she caught a glimpse of her wicked brother, squatting behind something, shaking with laughter.

She was supposed to be the one laughing at him.

Her abducter finally settled somewhere relatively safe for them to stay. The second he put her down, she shot him a glare. "Before you hit me... can I please have your phone number?" Zara's glare narrowed. Instead of a verbal response, she answered his question with a heavy hand; a smack on the arm. "Do that again, and I'll have your head mantled to hang up in my living room."

"Y'all mofos are goin' down."

She exhaled heavily, a wide smile on her rosy lips. Lucky! She had been purely lucky while tumbling next to the red head's side, a pair of slightly concerned teal eyes landing on her before they relaxed steadied out to the fleeing orange member she struck. Zip! Aubrey laughed again, quickly grabbing Victoria's arm and tugging her back down the alley they came from. For sure the orange team members hadn't expected a single one of those shots - but how could they? They had all been so absolutely wrapped up in conversing that not a single of them had been on the lookout for anyone. Granted, herself and Tori weren't the type of people to camp someone's base, nor spawn point when it came to video games - they weren't those kinds of people... But if it meant getting this event ongoing, then by all means! And it did. Splatters of colors began to line the white walls of the building, showering the entire building in a neon spectrum, an occasional few paints deducted by a white hurling ball that almost erased the prior colors. They eased not too far off, but Tori had her mind on other things.

Bree watched her friend turn, covering her mouth to cover the small laugh that exhaled her lips. Right on the a**! A wide splot of white covered Victoria's right buttock. She threw her hands up at a moment at the warning of being shot. Already the woman was staring where they had come from and, well, Aubrey couldn't stop her even if she tried. She'd tag along for a while... More because she wasn't exactly confident enough not to be absolutely destroyed on her own. She didn't have Tyrese's bulky frame (to her) to hide behind, much less any water to suddenly sprout and disperse the ball of paint with a hot singe to the outer plastic rim. She listened to her friend's below breath ramblings, keeping an eye out for anyone around. Zip! Another paintball fled past her hip, jolting her forward to almost fall on Victoria. However, quickly she regained her balance and turned her attention left and right, then upward. She squinted. It looked like... The corner of her lip lifted and she grumbled in irritation, nudging the back of Victoria's blue sweater and gesturing to what looked like a woman on the purple team embrace their own cyan member. Annoying. It didn't take long to see the trick, a splatter of white paint across the center of his chest within a few inches away. "Oh for the love of God..." She listened to Victoria c**k her gun and send a spiraling shot in Ryan's direction, clipping the corner of his helmet. "FOCUS you idiot!" Bree snapped before the two ran off once again. Sure, they were shooting their own team... But the man had lost them a point - and therefore very well could have lost the lead. Idiot. She grumbled thoughtfully to herself, lowering her aim to the purple haired woman that ran away from him. One shot and she missed inches above her head.

She felt a pair of gloved hands on her shoulders. "Ohhhhhh..." She murmured. So she had to line up the front with the back - who knew! They taught you how to use it, not how to actually aim with it. Pushing her tongue against the inside of her cheek she closed her left eye, straightening herself out to shoot again and clip Priya on the corner of her shoulder in time with her peeking out. She let out what could have been mistakenly an excited trill/laugh of excitement. Like a fluttering bird she turned back to watch Victoria, quickly ducking after her.

══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════

Kah! Victoria whipped her head at the feeling of something suddenly smacking hard against her rear. Her first mistake: Focusing more on the wound rather than the strands of the black strands making their escape beneath a white speckled helmet. She was jerked by Aubrey away from the dispersing orange team - all of the members practically billowing from the two entrances on either side. Her feet found themselves, bolting after the excited brunette, though her teal eyes remained on the leaving corridor, attempting to focus on the scent of - who she proposed to be - a woman running away from the "scene of the crime". She bared her teeth. That hurt! God damn it. As soon as Aubrey released her arm she spun like a dog chasing its tail, attempting to find a further glance of the white splotch along her back left side. With a small grumble she lifted her gun warily to Bree, narrowing her teal owl-like gaze into a more predatory stare. Of course, she would never, in her anger, shoot her pregnant friend. But that didn't mean the snarkyness of the situation hadn't exactly pissed her off. She had remembered she would be hit - but she didn't think she would be so quickly.

She turned on her heel to make her way back down, padding a little more quietly than most. She didn't want to be quick - but that didn't mean she wanted to leisurely pace while paint balls were blazing in the air around them. Licking over her bottom lip she ran her hand along the grip of the rifle, pulling the barrel back downward at the floor. If for whatever reason she came across someone - she hadn't wanted her first instinct to be to shoot them. A gentle nudge along her shoulder and she stopped, straightening her hunched form and directing her gaze upward to find where the woman was pointing. A man and a woman - both on opposite teams that one just so happened to have a similarity in them with - stood at the top of a staircase, embracing before she pulled back and fired off a round at him. With a click of her tongue she rolled her eyes, lifting her rifle and lining her sights. Spff! She shot against his helmet as a warning, lowering her gun quickly after and watching her handiwork. As much as she wanted to persuade herself otherwise, this wasn't time to be playing the romantic white knight or whatever the hell he had decided on doing at that moment.

But as Bree took a shot off, the dark eyebrows on her forehead furrowed. Her hands felt along Aubrey's shoulders, slinging her rifle over the side of her shoulder in order to give instructions. "Line this front notch up with these two. It should meet in the middle." She squinted and turned again, fleeing around another obstacle and pausing to kneel down and watch two more not far off doing what appeared to be the same. The female attached herself to him and although she was annoyed, it wasn't to say she was completely heartless. These two looked a little more... Distraught than the others they had come across. She rearranged her shoulders. Even still. This wasn't the time to be crying. If they both had their drama to work through - then why come to an event in the first place? She rose an eyebrow and took aim. One warning shot above their heads - or so she told herself. She had blatantly missed. Slowly she lowered her gun and aimed once more - striking the woman of the two on the back side of her calve. "We need to reload soon." She murmured lowly, tucking herself against the back of the obstacle.

Skye sprinted away from her hiding spot before he jumped and yelped as there was a 'splat' behind her. Turning her head, she eyed the orange spot behind her. That was close! Huffing, she continued to run. There wasn't time for her to hunt down the person that tried to hit her with the possibility of those two woman chasing after her. She knew that she would be pretty ticked off if she had been hit in the bum with a paintball. She just hoped the woman wouldn't have too hard of feelings! Sprinting to another pillar, she quickly ducked under it. Her heart was racing and her hands were shaking a little because she was so excited. This was actually really fun! Slowly crawling over to the edge of the obstacle she was hidden behind, she peered behind it. Her yellow eyes scanning the area in hopes of spotting someone that was on the opposite team.

                                                WITH ☾ Seth ☽OUTFIT Paintball? - Team PurpleSTATUS ☾ Seth's Soulmate ☽MONIES ☾ $950 ☽

Rina's hold on Seth tightened when he spoke, feeling bad when he finally let out how he felt. She knows that most guys don't just sit down and start talking about feelings, but she wants to with him. They have to address everything and get it all out in the open! Rina doesn't want him to have any more lingering doubts or concerns about this relationship or himself! No one has any say in what they're doing with each other or they feel about one another! They're on their own! They gotta sort out their feelings with each other...

Even though she had such thoughts in the back of her mind, she felt more at ease when he held her closer and rested on her head. It was like a nice big hug from him and she loved it. And she even became excited when he told her they could try living together for a few days. Rina had thrown her arms around him and nuzzled her face into his neck, showing just how happy she was with him finally saying yes. But, was he just forcing himself to make her happy...? If that's the case, then she has to work through it! She needs to show him that living with another person, especially the one you love, is great! It was after that when she told him about that whole robbery situation and braced for impact. And, it was just as she expected. While she had braced for it a little, it still made her flinch. Rina wasn't gonna try and say anything before he calmed down, as she feared she would say something that would infuriate him even more.

"No, no, he didn't hurt me. He did smell my neck and try to ask me out, which I said no to of course, but another customer had a gun and disarmed them all. Then the patrons tied them all up, and I think someone punched the guy that grabbed me." She wasn't gonna hide any details from him! Though it wasn't all that important now since she was okay. "Don't worry about it too much, Seth. I'm in your arms right now, aren't I? But... I'm worried about some of the things you said earlier." Being worried about her falling about someone else? And she wanted to ask him about some things! "I don't care if I have to spill my heart out to you a hundred times, but if it means you'll realize that my heart belongs to you, that I belong to you, then I'll do it. So I don't want to hear any more doubts, second-guessing, or questions about us, okay? It doesn't matter if you think another man or person is the best choice for me because I love you. Don't even think for a second that my heart will ever be won or go to someone else. You've already won it! So no more of that, or else I'll keep on kissing you, even if you complain!" Rina said adamantly, pushing her body closer to his to further stress her point. She can't prove it anymore to him! He has to believe in them! "And stop selling yourself short. If you only need me to tell you that I love you, how come you keep on worrying about me leaving you? You're a wonderful man, a wonderful person who's the only one for me. Don't think that my heart will suddenly just change one day and I'll leave you behind. I wouldn't do that to myself, and especially not to you! Don't you know that you're the only one that can bring me this kind of happiness? You're not a terrible person to be around and I crave being with you. You're sweet, kind, and considerate; you were even worried about me being bitten by puppies!" Though, that could be described as overprotectiveness, it was still a little sweet nonetheless. She's been talking so much! Rina really just wanted to tell him all that she was thinking, what was in her heart. All the worries that he had, she wanted them all gone. She wanted him to be comfortable and happy in their relationship, nothing should be forced! "You have your faults, your temper and you don't know how to deal with feelings of the heart all that well. But I do too! I'm a bit oblivious to some things, I've never been in a relationship either, and I nag you a lot. We both have these faults for good reason, though. It's a part of who we are, and how we show each other we care. So don't blame yourself for anything. Things just happen this way, maybe to bring us closer together. But, hopefully, nothing like this will happen again soon, and I won't have to give another little speech like this again either. And if I do, I'll just kiss you until I know everything's fine, so that's that." And with that, Rina buried her head in his chest, tired of speaking. Still, it was worth it if Seth didn't have any more worries. Ah, now her throat might be sore later!

As she started to rest against him, she remembered the shots that continued to go off in the paintball battle. "Let's go home now, I'm exhausted." Paintball, tears, and talking is way too much for her, and it wasn't even noon yet! She sat up to ready herself to go, when she realized the paint that she had shot at Seth's shirt had dried up against her own, causing them to stick together like cement. Whoops...
