Her Personality: Ceremony is a dabbler in natural magics. You could say she's a witch of sorts. She does own a broomstick! But no pointy hat. She's a bit quirky, and sometimes childish if it entertains her to be as much. Around strangers, she can appear distant, lost in what she's doing at the moment. Finer details of being social, can evade her if she's focused on her apothecary. She has her own way of doing things.

Ceremony has a son that the spirits granted her through a wishing star, and a racoon familiar. Both are never far from her, and keep the batty mare safe from harm. When they can...

~Her Story~

Ceremony can't remember how she got here. If you ask her, she will either say she doesn't know, or make up some wild tale of her existence. The one thing she does know, is practicing magic. Real, natural magics. Casting fire and lightning bolts? That's the stuff of stories you tell your foals. The magics we are talking about, are the ones that use herbs, incantations, and cooking skills. The power of some magics, depends on the person the magic is being used on. Meaning, it's more of a placebo effect.

Ceremony has a small clientele that come to her for potions to purchase. Payment can be all sorts of trade worthy items. The witch isn't picky about currency. Some of the things she sells, range from sleeping potions and poisons, to love potions and charmed stones. The love potions have no real magic, but her clients don't know that! They serve more as courage for the person using them most of the time. She tells them that in order for the magic to work, you have to believe it works. It's a fail safe, so they can't come back to her calling her a charlatan.

His Personality: Kodama is a mute, though he hasn't lost his voice. He adores playing with other forest animals, and makes up games to play with them in his free time. His heart is made of gold. Maybe literally! As he bleeds gold colored blood. His silence, ended up being his strength, as he watched on to things unfolding around him. By not speaking out against his inner demons, they seemed unable to bring him harm. Should there come a day when his words are needed, he might choose to use them.

~His Story~

Kodama is the child of a granted wish from the wishing star spirits. His mother made a half meaningful wish, with some twine, the wing of a bat, and an empty bottle. She treated the wish as an experiment, as if casting a spell. To her delight, it seemed to work! One day, a basket appeared in a small tree by her home. How the basket got there, is unknown! The spirits blessed Ceremony with a basket, and somehow it ended up in that tree for her to find. Kodama's name in fact, means just that: Tree Spirit.

When he emerged from his basket, it turned out he looked nothing like Ceremony. He had blue flames from his eyes, glowing antlers, dual fox tails, and paws. He wasn't violent, like some pawed soq. Instead, he was just a normal lovable foal, learning about the world around him. Ceremony treated him like a son one minute, and a nuisance the next! Often he was shooed away to go play on his own. Luckily he never got lost or foalnapped! The other interesting thing about him, is that he can see spirits and ghosts! Not all the time, but every now and again they pop up to haunt an area. Kodama tries to play with them, not having any friends. The ghosts seemed like they could be playmates just for him! His mother never even noticed, or just thought he had an imaginary friend.

Kodama grew up under heavy oppression from his mother, and her mental way of parenting. When Ceremony discovered he had golden unnatural colored blood, she began using the blood to sell to others, and experiment with. Sometimes, she would cause him harm, just so he would bleed. Afterwards, she would nurture his wound, and tend to him with care. It left him so confused and conflicted. Overtime, it caused him to go mute. He stopped speaking, but his mothers abuse persisted.

As an adult, he keeps away from his mother when needed, but cares about her deeply. He checks on her often, even if it means submitting himself to her abuse.

His silence, ended up being his strength, as he watched on to things unfolding around him. By not speaking out against his inner demons, they seemed unable to bring him harm. He's able to endure almost anything, and quietly contemplate why we exist while gazing at the stars. Compared to the stars, our existence seems so small and frail.

Throughout his life, he's always had a love for animals smaller than him. In his free time, he makes up games with his forest friends. Safe to say, he doesn't eat meat! He prefers berries, grass, and roots.
