The darkness flowed into her subconcious dreaming and she whined softly in her sleep as the tendrils enveloped her as she tried to cry out, but to no avail. She struggled and snarled, but the cloudy film began to creap over her vision. She lay limp and gave in realizing it was the moon reminding her the toll it would take for using her powers to an excess. She wimpered and stared straight ahead of her, head against the ground. A tear spilled from her eye as she blinked. The darkness covered her vision and leeched hungrily at her sight.
As she opened her eyes this time she came out of the dream and her vacant eyes found the dark, blurred landscape of shifting shadows and spirits familiar as she accepted her punishment. The moon was satisfied with her sacrifice as she looked upon the white and black she-wolf laying down below on the cold, hard earth. You have done what was right and saved an innocent life, my daughter, so why do you dispair?
'I know not.... only that I shall never know the sweet pleasure of seeing those I love and their smiling faces ever again....'
The shadows swirled angrily around her and she realized the dark shapes of her friends laying next to her. A slightly smaller form lay off a short distance away. As she smelled the air she realized that it was Kaiya back rom her wanderings. Neira whined softly and slowly and carfully made her way over to the dark warm, dark shape. She sighed heavily as she flopped down next to her familiar friend. All colors seemed to have fled her world, all but for soft quivers of light at the center of the dark shapes she could feel were her friends. She wondered at this strange phenomenon as she drifted back into a light sleep which was the only place she was able to see color anymore, her mind's eye....

Alcuin's tiny silvery-white form wound effortlessly between trees and around rocks in his path, displaying a fluid grace that no typical pup could hope to behold. His eyes, deep murky pools of violet, were attentive and keenly observant as they scanned the surrounding terrain. His caution, even though it was great, was masked entirely by a veil of awe-inspiring serenity; he was d'Angeline, and was trained to be poised as such. Thus, he padded through the lush, green forests as if he'd done so a hundred times. One could easily mistake him as one of the pack's lifelong pups, and find themselves wondering how they never noticed the diamond-in-the-rough pup. It was a wonder nobody did notice him, with the Beta being his foster-father and all... He accepted the solitude with grace. He didn't envy Anafiel, no, not at all. Rather, he pitied him sometimes. He hardly got a moment alone these days, and all kinds of tasteless femmes were vying for his attention... Alcuin considered himself lucky, somewhat, and these lonely walks had more or less become part of his daily routine. The green of the forest quickly became lusher and brighter, and Alcuin caught the heavy scent of freshwater on the breeze. The calls of the birds became more varied, more exotic, and the pup knew he was making a transition of some sort. So it was, and the forest spat him out into the clearing of the lagoon. Alcuin's puppy eyes sparkled, and he gaped considerably as he took in the beauty of the area. He hadn't been here since spring had arrived, and the sight was breathtaking. Clear, blue water cascaded freely down rocky slopes, collecting in a pool so clean and fresh that he could see the colorful fish that lived therein. Smooth boulders were scattered this way and that, their surfaces luminous and beckoning. In all his travels with his dearest Anafiel, he'd never come across anything like this, and his little heart throbbed with the joy of his discovery. In a way, he was so taken by the beauty of the lagoon that, as he bound up to the water's edge, he found himself staring into the water rather than diving in. To his glee, he caught the eye of a curious fish. It swam fearlessly toward him, its scales glimmering charmingly as the sun reflected off of them, and looked up at Alcuin wonderously from under the water. Alcuin smiled and gave a soft giggle, a sophisticated rather than childish sound, and the fish flicked his tailfin in joy of it. Alcuin lay on his belly, staring down happily at the fish, rather oblivious to the rest of the world.

The soft earth gave way as thin lime green dyed bones pressed down into the ground. The weight of the creature was enough to leave markings on the dirt below his feet. A long serpent like tail, black rings around the scaled muscle swished across the vibrant deep green grass. He could scent the water near by, his thirst would be quenched in moments and he quicken his bouncy trot towards the running stream. His back feet looked the same as his front, the anatomy of the creature was that of a dog, obviously by the way his legs formed to his body. Around the elbow of his front legs, the lime green fur began and lead up to his shoulders. receding as it reached past the shoulder blades began soft velvet like skin until his rump was reached and scales began. The fur trailed up his neck before ending at his jaw line and horns. A skull for a face and a small glowing flame against his horn he felt the slope harden and drop as he walked. Glancing he watched the earth become stone and lead to a cliff drop, water below him. Hissing softly he noticed a small white pup, shimmering against the green grass at the water line. Jumping to a ledge he grunted softly and jumped once more, half way down the cliff. The sound of bone clacking against claws echoed around the lagoon. The vibrant red from his ribcage was a bright contrast to his green fur. Stepping across the brown-gray stone he rocked his shoulders as he walked to the edge of the stone and taking a short jump to the next one down. The sound of scraping bone echoed as his front legs hit the wet stone and he slid slightly before catching himself. The small flame flared as he caught himself and he turned to face the wolf pup. With a last launch he landed on a short ledge, leaning his neck down and letting a long lime green tongue lash out and lap up the water into his bone jaws. A small drop of green saliva dripped into the water and he lifted his head up, bone dripping with water.
