I chipped a piece off my standing mirror by accident yesterday while moving it to wipe up some water on my floor in the bathroom...does that count as breaking a mirror and mean that I'm going to get 7 years of bad luck?

I really do not know; since, throwing some salt over my shoulder and knocking on with with a rabbit's foot have not brought me diddly squat but weird looks from people. sweatdrop =^_^=

Haha....I don't throw salt over my shoulder since it just causes a mess that I have to clean up...don't have a rabbit's foot, or a four-leaf clover, or a horseshoe...only thing I do is maybe knock on wood but there isn't much real wood around nowadays...I did get a charm from the buddhist temple from my mom (like I do every year) and I burned the old one so maybe that'll help...

I started on another cactus but the pattern is quite different. This one looks more like a fern but it's a lot of stitches and it twists together so looks like a tangle of knots...I think I'm starting to make sense of how it's suppose to work but it's going to take a long time to crochet....

Thanks! I got faster once I figured it out. It's coming along pretty well. In other news, my boyfriend's brother is having a housewarming/baby shower this Saturday so I baked cookies to bring as a housewarming gift. He said he liked my shortbread cookies so hopefully him and his wife enjoy them. I'm going to ice them tomorrow since it's getting late and the cookies haven't cooled yet.

After looking at the medal standings for Pyeongchang, I do have to wonder WHAT those Norwegians are doing to get that many gold medals. The same for the Germans. Is it their training techniques? what they're eating? Maybe they just got lucky finding some truly talented athletes.
My concern is now whether or not we'll be able to find some more talented athletes here in Canada once this generation of olympians retire. I mean, they have some rather large shoes to fill, and I worry that they might wind up get roasted like Nathan Chen did if they mess up. These commentators aren't very kind to people that are still young and learning..
