Aden was quick about recalling his Pokemon for now, not wanting what he said to be heard by Nidoran. "Yeah, but he'll manage. I'm guessing the whole thing's a blow to pride, what with him being with me longer than Flaaffy has." He said.

I'm guessing the whole thing's a blow to pride, what with him being with me longer than Flaaffy has." He said. "Probably." I said. "But it happens, one way or another, sometimes. At any rate, if you are ready, then lets head off to the Goldenrod gym. If Dahlia was right, then she is probably more than ready to take you on." I said.

"You know, that actually gets me a little. Though, as fast as news must travel among the league, I probably shouldn't be surprised." Aden said, starting out of the Pokemon Center. "But, yeah. Ryan can catch up."

Darksol88 "You know, that actually gets me a little. Though, as fast as news must travel among the league, I probably shouldn't be surprised." Aden said, starting out of the Pokemon Center. "But, yeah. Ryan can catch up." I made my way out of the Pokemon Center and started to go down the city blocks, leading Aden all the way to the Goldenrod City gym. Compared to a lot of the gyms, this one pretty much blended in with the rest of the city. Its large structure with a glass roof overhead, this place looked relatively normal compared to the gyms Aden has seen thus far.

Aden would be quiet as he followed, at least until he took out the ball containing his Nidoran. Letting him back out to follow, he started to talk. "Look, if you're upset, that's fine. But don't let it get to you like this."
Nidoran didn't say a word, not really up for talking. Not even when they got to the gym.
This did leave Aden a little surprised, though. "...That's it? This is a little underwhelming."

The one type of Pokemon that is virtually jack of all trades, but master of none...except maybe attacks of their own attacks, of course. They tend to be the most versed, learning all sorts of attacks and abilities to cope with any and all types that comes their way." I said. "Whitney in particular is no slouch in doing that, and that is of course using an individual Pokemon's strength." I said. "Really, Whitney's got a lot of options, but one thing I can virtually assure you. She WILL have that Miltank at one point or another out. That's basically her 'ace in the hole' as it were." I said.

"Like Falkner and his Pidgeot, or Bugsy with the Scyther he's got." Aden was starting to get it a little. However, he still really didn't see how it could be that bad. Sure, he didn't quite take down Pidgeot, and Scyther was at least doable, so a Miltank couldn't be much worse... to him, anyway. "Guess it explains why this one's plain. At least I'll be somewhat lucky with there just being her."

"Well, let's head on inside then and lets see how well you do, huh?" I asked, making my way forward and to the doors, opening it up for Aden to go through.

"Right." Recalling Nidoran again, Aden went on inside. He wondered how this place looked... he doubted anything like it was at the other two gyms, though.

Darksol88 "Right." Recalling Nidoran again, Aden went on inside. He wondered how this place looked... he doubted anything like it was at the other two gyms, though. Compared to the other gyms, this one was plain contemporary if anything. Wooden tempered floors, plain white walls. Though of course, it being Whitney in here, she did decorate the place a bit with flowers to have somewhat of a simple, yet decorative charm. Apparently she favors carnations more than anything in this gym. And of course, they get plenty of sunlight from the sun overhead coming through the glass roof. "Well well well!" A girl clad in a white top and white shorts caught notice to the two of us. She would a slender female for the most part, and hair that couldn't be any more red if it tried. Though if she looked nice enough, if one was to get close enough to her to look at her hands, one would notice that those hands were a bit on the rough side. She took pride in a bit of hard work, being the country girl she was. "Look who we have here! Blizzard! I was told you were on your way here with someone. So this is...Aden, right?" "Morning, Whitney." I said. "Everything going alright?" I asked. "Oh of course, first Ryan Caughtem was here, now you." "Wait. Ryan?" "Oh yea...wait, I almost forgot, he was traveling with you two as well. Bugsy told me about that." She said. "By the way." She leaned over towards Aden. "Nice job putting the bug boy in his place." She said softly with a giggle.

"Huh... somehow, I get the feeling she'll have a few words about my-" Aden started to say, but stopped himself. Whitney didn't look bad or anything, but at the same time... he had this feeling things were about to go a tad less well than he thought. A tomboy? Not an issue. One that seemed to revel in femininity more than his sister did at times, was a gym leader, and infamous for a cow? He might be in for more than he bargained for.
"Huh. So that's where he went after the contest. And, uh, thanks..." News really did travel fast...

"Well, I'm all yours this morning, Aden. Just little ol' me." She said. I shook my head. "Good luck, Aden. You're going to need it." I said, walking off for the spectator stands. "I believe you know what to do, Aden." She said as she made her way over towards the side of the gym and took out a little device. Looked like a pager of sorts. She pressed a button on it. It was only a minute before a ref made his way out. "You called? Someone here to challenge you, Ms. Whitney?" he asked. "That would be him over there." She told him. "Of course." The ref ran to the side of the battlefield and waited on Aden to get in position.

Aden said nothing at first, though he did have this feeling of pure dread that he couldn't shake off. "I think I'll be fine... maybe." He commented after what Blizzard said, walking into position. A Pokeball was already in hand, ready to start at any time.

He commented after what Blizzard said, walking into position. A Pokeball was already in hand, ready to start at any time. The ref checked the stats on Aden, then when he had his brief tidbit of info he got into his announcement phase. "This is a Pokemon League Sanctioned match, a battle for the badge kept here in Goldenrod City Gym. This will be a battle in Singles format, three Pokemon a piece for each combatant, between the challenger, Aden of Agate Village in the Orre Region, against the Gym Leader of the Goldenrod Gym, Whitney! The challenger may switch anytime as he sees fit. Whitney will not." The ref announced. "Alright, Aden. Give me your all!" Whitney shouted to him. "I'll settle for nothing less!" "Here we go..." I said to myself. "BEGIN!" The ref shouted, raising his flags up. "Let's kick things off with this! Go get em! Clefable!" She shouted. She tossed the Pokeball out and out came a pinkish off-white Pokemon, with a grin on its face. A rarity, no matter where you go, in this world. "Clefaaaaable." The Pokemon spoke up as it came out of the ball. I looked towards Aden. Lets see how he kicks this fight off...

Already a little on the ugly side, Aden thought. "Yeah... I wouldn't expect anything less. Come on, Poliwhirl!" He said, tossing the ball to release the Pokemon in question.
"Whiiiirl." Not much of a cry, but hey, he was still ready.
