The Stranger Username: magnadearel Name of The Stranger: Cadeyrn Name Meaning: Battle King Prompt: 2
History: Silence is a virtue. Cadeyrn learned early on that you hear better when you yourself stop speaking.
As a juvenile he was selected to roam out in the roguelands as a spy. Rigorous training until adulthood taught him how to infiltrate large and small groups of felines. Further study showed him what he needed to listen for. By listening alone, Cadeyrn gathered much about individuals and group.
What were the weak points? How best to take them unharmed or with minimal damage? Did they know the area? Could they find ways to escape? Just a few of the things the lion had to keep in the back of his mind. When he felt the time was right then he would spring the ambush laid out. The very young were taken back and raised as one of their own to learn the pride’s ways. All others were used as slaves. Prompt: (Many of the lions seem distrustful towards you, and you're not sure you understand why. Explain your thoughts on why you're a quiet lion. This may elaborate on the history, or be the memory of a specific event.) Cadeyrn was on another infiltrate and capture mission. This time he’d run across a large group of lions. It certainly was a mixed group with adults and kids of various ages. He began to lurk around the edges as if he belonged. No one seemed to question his presence. With such a large group, Cadeyrn was going to take him time gathering information.
What he heard a couple days later troubled him greatly. The group was going to join a pride? He had seated himself at the periphery edge of the group. A deep, thoughtful frown crossed his lips as he listened to the Leader speaking of the pride. It seemed he knew a great deal. That certainly put a kink into his plans and timelines.
With rogues traveling randomly he had all the time he needed to gather information. Now he had several choices. One would be to abandon this group and search for another. He could even possibly cubnap one or two of the cubs when he left. Two was to stay and study for the time he had, then spring his trap early before they reached the pride. Or three; three was the boldest and most daring. He would stay with the group and join the pride with them. Then study this pride, seeing if it was as the Leader said, and see if it could be over come. It would be the capture of a lifetime.
Cadeyrn pondered all that night on his choice. The first would still earn him some points. The second maybe more, but he wouldn’t have all the time he liked to study them. The third was the most risky, but afforded him the greatest reward. In the end he choose to go with the last. If he could get all the information he needed for his pride to overcome this group and the pride his name would go down in history for the greatest capture ever.
He settled down to sleep. Come tomorrow he would begin his search for everything the Leader knew of this pride. When he got there Cadeyrn would see if the Leader had spoken true and what he hadn’t mentioned about the pride.
