The Demon Arion

Do not be fooled by my calm demeanor

The next couple of nights were some what busy
But they all had to do with the planning party, and trying
to keep it hidden from my daughter, Arion and Bowen
Though I I trusted the two males, I feel Bowen would eventually
end up telling Arion about or plan on finding out whether or not
he is our secret guest,
As the days pass by, my daughter grows more and more suspicious
But we already have all the invitations made and sent
My sons have managed to keep Arion out of the house,
but the lad is smart, I am sure he has figured something
by now.
I do so very hope, that we find out, who this man is
This time I have decided that it would be best to have the
small party in the smaller dance hall, and perhaps, even
my sons could find a young lady that they would like to spend
their life with.
Lord knows that they are old enough to marry now
But they still refuse, they say that there is no woman
out there that would love them for them, and only wants their money
I do not care if they decide to marry commoners, so long
as it is love,
But it cannot be helped, if they do not choose for search for love

Kamen frowned, love seemed to be an alusive thing, he sighed at this, and rubbed his eyes befor continuing and trying not to cry.

The next two entries were the same, they went on more about the preparations, about what the master had chosen to serve on the night, and about how some of the servants were confused as to why the master was hosting another party so soon after her daughters presentation.
But Kamen finally got to the night of the party.

I was glad that everything seemed to be going
as planned, the guest arrived on time, and the
servants were very kind and helpful, the young bachelors
seemed... comfortable enough, but seeing their
conceded smiles, and hearing some of their small
talks, I could already tell that I did not like any of these
BOYS for my daughter.
They were more interested in outdoing each other
than in my daughter, I do truly hope my daughter does
not end up with one of these lads.
But the young man that I was hoping to see did not arrive
Not an hour later, or two hours, he simply did not show up
and Arion, was not around, so in the end, this did not prove
anything, and it only seemed to bother my daughter.
Like last time, I watched her all night, and saw no real joy in her
eyes, only that fake smile, that so many of us have put on
in order to seem happy.
Many of the families had decided that perhaps IT would be
smart to bring their daughters and nieces.
And it would have been, if not because his sons did not seem
to be interested at all....or at least William, was not, but his
brother Vincent, seemed to be interested in a particular
lady.
By the end of the night, my daughter, and I were both
exhausted, there was still no sign of Arion, this party had
been for naught

kamen bit his lip, he closwd the book for a moment and took a breakl to rub his eyes, then after ten minutes he continued.

For the next couple of chapters it went on with very little entries that had to do with Arion, mostly about the passing of the days. Days become weeks, weeks became months, and it all seemed the same, and though there were not many entries in the journal over Arion and Bowen, it was clear that the master was becoming more and more suspicious. Before Kamen knew it, he was approaching the end of the second journal. But before finishing it, someone new, had been mentioned. A woman, her name was Casandra, entries of her, were becoming more common.

kamen sighed when he finished thebbook, he rubbed his eyes feeling tired and hungry. He wanted to keep reading but he wasnt sure how much longer he could stay awake. Looking at the clockand noticing it about noon he got uo, streched a little then headed down for the kitchens. He knew it would be bad form for the new apprentice to be late. Aftergetting into the kitchen he looked around for the cook.

By the time Kamen walked in, the cook had already began taking out the ingredients they would need for the days meal. When he saw the young dragon he nodded his morning and motioned at him to go wash his hands.

looking at the sink Kamen nodded, he washed his hands then right away got to work.

the cook brought him over a couple of vegetables "These, must be 'fin'ley 'hopped" he said, though he still had a thick accent, it didnt sound as thick as it did in the beginning.
Arion was walking back, it was quiet and the sky was dark, thunder rumbled off in the distance, and before he was close to the mansion, rain began falling.

Kamen nodded at the chef and started to finely chop the vegitable. He could hear the thunder coming from outside. Once more he had a strange feeling of being watched.

"You seem to forget, that even an elemental such as yourself can fall victim to the common cold" Bowen said with a quiet chuckle as he walked up to a soaked Arion, as soon as he opened the door.
"I can control my core temperature" Arion commented back as a thick soft towel was thrown over his head.
"And yet, youve already had a fever three times in the last year, a flu seven times and a cold thrice already" Bowen commented getting a small glare from Arion, just like when he was younger, only making Bowen chuckle louder.
Bowen began rubbing the towel against Arions hair "Go and take a both Sire, your meal will be ready momentarily I am sure." Bowen said with a warm smile.
"How did you know to wait for me here?" Arion asked when Bowen turned on his heal.
"Because you always took comfort from her whenever you were troubled" Bowen said, in a low almost sad voice as he looked over to the giant painting that hung over the entrance to the ball room, the painting of a smiling Melinda.
Even though thunder rumbled loudly outside, the great stone walls dulled it, and it actually felt somewhat peaceful inside with the warm candlelight and the warm smile painted on Melinda's face, that was one of her genuine smiles, and it always lightened up her face.
Looking back at Bowen, Arion noticed that the male had gone in the direction towards the kitchen.
Arion continued rubbing his hair with the towel as he himself walked up to his own room.

Kamen was still helping with the cooking he stopped for awhile and sat down he rubbed his sides, he couldn't even feel pain anymore, he was ready to try flying. Maybe tonight when he was alone he would attempt it, he was itching to fly.

Bowen was walking down the hall with his hands behind his back, his footsteps echoed, and the thunder rumbled outside Bowen was quiet, thinking of everything and nothing at the same time.
Outside of the kitchen a group of dogs let out small whines, they remained outside the doors, but they lightly scratched at the door.
The cook smiled as he stirred the wooden spoon in the big pot, while the dogs let out another small whine, followed by a quiet bark, they almost sounded like puppies, but each dog was a ful grown, giant adult furry dogs, that looked like a small mix between a bear and a lion.

Kamen heard the dogs and he chuckled a bit he looked at the cook. "Scared of thunder hugh?" He asked him.

The cook smiled and shook his head "No, no, it is lunch time" he replied as he went over to Kamen, took some of the cut up vegetables and placed them in the pot "These dog, no afraid, o' nature" he added in and let the pot sit for a moment as the dogs barked once more, but this time, it was in greeting as Bowen approached them, let out a small chuckle and petted them in greeting as well before walking into the kitchen "Hello you two" he greeted the cook and Kamen.
