Lyra gave a nod at his comment on Illia. Her sister wasn't one to purposely ignore her messages, she just assumed that her phone had died. She would be lying if she said she wasn't worried, but she also knew that Illia was perfectly capable of herself. She glanced at him with a playful eye roll, ending in a grin as she heard his joking, "Yeah yeah, OK mom." she joked back. She continued to check things off the list as she lead him through the store, adding items to their cart as they moved. Pausing for a moment, she turned her body in his direction and raised an eyebrow, "What is this surprise you've been talking about? Can't you just give me a hint?" she asked suspiciously.

Kyle rolled his eyes at Lyra's response. His girlfriend was always full of witty retorts when they played around like this. If anything this was just how they flirted with one another, although he didn't mind it in the slightest. These moments were special to him, so he enjoyed every bit of it. The young man followed her occasionally looking at the items that she would put into the cart. They seemed to be getting the shopping down pretty fast, which was perfectly find with him. His stomach was starting to feel hungry as well, although his attention was redirected at his girlfriend when she turned around and questioned him about the surprised he had planned. Kyle tilted his head to the side a bit finding it amusing that she was so nosy about it. "I could, but that would ruin the surprise wouldn't it? Besides if I do give you a hint what do I get out of it? I'm not gonna just give you a hint that easily, Lyra. I do want to surprise you after all. I may be willingly to make a comprise though." Kyle commented with an obvious playful tone in his voice. He wondered how badly she wanted a hint, and waited for her to respond one way or the other.
Lyra paused for a moment to think about what to say. Over the years they had dated, they had went through multiple deals like this. In fact, she was pretty sure that was how they had a first "date". After a moment of pondering, she crossed her arms, "Hm.... Well, what do you want Archer?" she bargained, holding her head high in a challenging way. She was always up for a game, and she loved this sort of banter with him. It made life interesting, "I can help you with your science homework like before." she teased sarcastically, referencing their previous high school years. Unlike her boyfriend, Lyra was pretty good at sciences, which made studying an easy bargain when they were kids. Dropping a few more items into the cart, she continued on as she waited for an answer.

Kyle had debated about what he could ask for, although those thoughts diminished when she mentioned helping him with his science homework. Naturally, he lightly glared at his girlfriend for the reference to their high school years. That subject was and still is his most hated subject, and that was always one of the main things she offered to help him in return for some favor. He had to give it to her that she definitely had him wrapped around her finger even before they were dating. "Hahaha funny, the good thing now is that I don't have to deal with science homework ever again. Now you don't have your most popular bargaining chip, Lyra." He sarcastically remarked, while rolling his eyes a bit. The young man knew she was enjoying the memory very much. It could easily be heard in her voice, and she wanted a challenge. "Alright, if you want to have a hint so badly. You have to kiss me on the lips in public right now, and tell me that you love me. That shouldn't be too hard for the brave Lyra Tsukimi should it?" Kyle taunted with a slight smirk. She wanted to tease and challenge him, so he figured he'd play her little game.
Lyra laughed as she heard his response to her tease. It was nice to think about the past, especially when they'd been together so long. It was sad to leave high school, but it was certainly one of her better memories. Hearing his challenge, her face turned bright red in imagination. Lyra had always been bad at public affection, or affection in general. Furrowing her brows, she pushed him lightly, "T-That's cheating!" she exclaimed, crossing her arms as she turned her head away. That sort of thing was impossible, for her at least. Deciding to get back at him, she turned her face to him reluctantly, "... Fine." she said softly. Slowly, she leaned in on her tippy toes. As she inched closer, she raised her hand last moment and poked him in the forehead, smirking a little, "Just kidding!" she teased, "You've made your point, I'll wait until tomorrow for your surprise." she gave in, sticking her tongue out at him as she turned back to the grocery list

Kyle let out a small amount of amused laughter when her face turned red followed by his girlfriend's light push. He was never sure if Lyra was just embarrassed or nervous to display affection in public or maybe both. After five years, her showing that she did care for him when it came to intimate gestures were largely made in private. "You call it cheating I call it evening the odds, Sweetie." He retorted, although was completely caught off guard when she turned to face him followed by her soft tone. His cheeks redden slightly at his girlfriend actually agreeing to his little challenge, and as she leaned in slowly it made her look adorable. That was before he suddenly felt her poke him in the forward followed by her classic smirk. A small frowned marred his expression at having been tricked so easily. The young man started following Lyra once again, but walked next to her as he grabbed her hand in one of his. "You do know that I'm going to make you pay for that back at home right? That was really dirty of you, Lyra." Kyle mentioned with a light pout, although with a slight dangerous tone showing he wasn't just going to let her get away with her little stunt.
Lyra felt his hand grasp hers, looking up at him as he gave a cute threat. She grinned, shrugging, "What can I say? I like winning." she commented, chuckling a little. She knew he was going to get her back somehow, and she was surprisingly looking forward to it. She enjoyed their jabs and wars at each other, it made them feel close. Looking at their cart, then back at her list, she smiled, "Alright, all we're missing is chocolate chips!" she said excitedly, pulling him along side of her.
She made her way to the bulk section, looking through the items around. Finding a pack of semi-sweet chocolate chips, she tossed it into the cart and smiled,"Good to go! I'm starving, so let's get home quick!" she smiled.

Kyle could only smile and shake his head at her childish excitement for chocolate chips. It was easy to bribe her with sweets, which was what he did from time to time. That side of her personality was one of the many things that he did love about her. Sure she had her faults like any other person in the world, but he loved those about her as well even if they sometimes got on his nerves. After his girlfriend had collected the chocolate chips, Kyle led her to the checkout counter, and began putting the items on the convener belt. The cashier gave a kind greeting, and totaled up the items. "That'll be seventy-five dollars and seventy five cents." They said, and the young man used his debit card to pay for it. After punching his pin number in, and signing his signature, the cashier handed over the receipt.
Another employee had bagged the items, and put them back in the cart. Kyle looked at Lyra with a light smile. "Well we better get on home, so we can begin cooking. I'd rather not deal with cranky Lyra after all." He joked grabbing a good portion of the bags. The young man waited for Lyra to grab the rest of the bags before they would head home. It shouldn't take too long to get back home at least, so he wasn't worried about having to carry what they bought.
Lyra followed him as they went to pay for the items, watching Kyle pay for them before grabbing some of the bags. She smirked as he joked about her cranky side. Grabbing the remaining bags, she followed him towards the door, "I wouldn't want to deal with her either, I hear she's a real demon." she said in a sarcastic tone. Lyra was starting the like this atmosphere. The idea of living together seemed to be getting better every minute. [exit]

Ansel let out a usual sigh as he stopped had stopped outside the front doors and shifted through the many keys to unlock the glass doors. He really should hire an assistant manager to prevent closing the door every time he needed to run an errand. But until then, it was just him running it all on his own. Which despite the cons, it allowed him to make his own terms, which included unlimited smoke breaks. A plus in his book of fun. It had been several minutes when Ansel decided to just use the master key, and let himself in. Why the need to struggle when you could simply work smart and use the master key? If only life were that simple. Taking a quick walk around the store, the man made sure everything had still been in place while away on his hour break. As expected, every single aisle, from the canned foods to the deli was in check. After putting out his cigar, Ansel tossed blazer in the office and safely tucked his sunglasses away in his shirt pocket. They were his most prized possession, the window that separated him from the rest of the world and allowed him to observe it without being seen.
“Alright, time to wait around like an idiot until some hungry fool comes in to pique my interest... ”
Nikolas had been new in town for a very short time and had managed to find a map to guide him around. Quickly he had been able to secure a job to get funds to survive. Whatever that meant to him at this point. He turned a corner on a street and saw someone in front of a store. The person pulled out a key, unlocked the door, and went inside. Nikolas walked down the street a bit and looked up to see the name of the store. It was where he had applied to and had been accepted. A large grin stretched across his face and he followed inside.
"Hello whoever is in the store! I am new worker here, and am ready to work!"
Be grateful, Our scars have the power to remind us that the past was real..
Ansel had changed into a casual shirt and apron when he heard a booming voice echo across the store. The loudness of the voice came off as obnoxious to the manager though hid his irritation with a smile at the approaching new employee. His blue hues taking in the man's rugged appearance and already coming to conclusions, though he held off on a final analysis until he was able to gather more information.
So you're the new applicant? Well, all applicants go through a trial process, so we'll see how things progress and decide if you're here to stay. Also, we do have a dress and health code...Mr.....what do you call yourself...?”

Jaquinne was out of breath and bleeding from a superficial cut on his cheek. But he'd finally made it to the grocery store. Jewel and Jerome were out with friends, and so he was doing the best he could to pass the time until they returned. He hated to admit it, but he always felt a little lonely when his days weren't spent looking after the two children. The blonde sighed, catching his breath as he entered the store. He'd tried to distract himself by running the distance from his home in Lumiere District to this store. Naturally, he didn't make it that far, and had to constantly stop to rest. It didn't help that he'd tripped over seemingly nothing and cut his cheek on a conveniently placed rock. He had the feeling that he'd also put some strain on the stitches in his left arm, which was a worry. If they opened, he'd have to take another trip to the hospital. Jaquinne looked around as he walked down a random isle, searching for something to eat. Absently, his hand rested on the coiled whip at his hip, an unconscious habit of his that always showed when he was anxious. He absently bit on his lower lip as he stopped in front of the fruit section, a victorious expression suddenly lighting up his features. He seemed to be oblivious to the other people in the shop at the present moment, choosing to focus his attentions on finding what he needed and distracting himself.
A trial process! A challenge! Nikolas quickly folded the map and slid it into a pocket in his pants. He grinned a bit more and shot his right hand forward in preparation of a handshake. He decided that he liked his new co-worker very much immediately.
"I am Nikolas! Nikolas Alfsson! And what is your name friend?"
