***What to Expect When Maeve's a Stay at Home Mommy***

My prayers are with you and Taran, Maeve. *hugs* Kinda hoping you can go into labor before Monday - I have talked to a few female relatives and the general concensus is that babies should come when they are ready, but if he is that big.... Well maybe Tigs is right - he is comfy cozy in there and not quite ready to make an appearance. Can't wait to hear the good news, tho!

yepperz, by the time you read this the little bugger will be out (hopefully) and I'll be here, waitin for teh story of how it went XD maybe you should have your husband post so we can see his side of things?

WELL!
I started having contractions 8:30 Sunday morning and started having them five minutes apart sometime around 10:30-11:00 AM.

I was admitted into the hospital around 1:30 PM.

I did get an epidural...it made the contractions before labor so much easier. By 8ish PM I was dilated enough to start pushing so they gave me some Pitocin to help the epidural wear off. I was in hard labor for close to 2 and 1/2-3 hours and Taran was born at 10:57 PM February 28, 2010...4 days late and under a full moon. Daddy was by my side the whole time...he best birthing coach I could have ever asked for. heart

Born with a head of dark brown/ black hair (just like his Mommy was!)

Congratulations! I know I haven't been very frequent around here, but I have to say - it's good to hear that all went well!

On a side note: how come I suddenly know a whole lot of mommies on gaia? I mean jeebers, most of you are my age!

We've moved a little flat screen tv into his room so Daddy can watch movies while he works the "Taran Graveyard Shift". I was a huge fan of Flight of the Conchords to begin with, they've gotten us through many a night. Taran's "busiest" time seems to fall between 10PM-2AM.

Although he's been fussy since 11PM last night. He's only just settled down since 6ish. I hope he sleeps a little better tonight. I was up with him until 3:30 this morning. I am so glad it's the weekend and Daddy is home. smile
