"We just got shoved out the door unarmed, and we have our own assignment," Trajan curtly replied before DuPont could say anything. "If you want information, we require a few items of assistance." Trajan took note of the Fae; he was the one they were going to assassinate, until orders changed. "First of all, we need our weapons back. I'm not doing anything until my rifle is back to me. Second... we need an escort. Someone to vouch for us while we go back home. Shouldn't take long, but it needs to be done."

DuPont was really starting to like Trajan. Maybe it was just him, but they seemed to have developed a sort of equilibrium when it came to dealing with the "fair folk" of the land. He shared a few bits, then Trajan would take his turn. If Donnie was right, his turn wasn't too far off now. For the time being, he simply admired that they had gotten off so easy. Maybe there was something to that Archmage Azrial fellow...

But that was for another time. They had a new set of directives, and the Dane couldn't agree more with Trajan: they needed their weapons back.

Osiris couldn't do anything but hope Nine would translate (and correctly). He hated feeling so useless.

Oh, this is just too much, Morea thought as she stood, practically bouncing on her heels. Now she could see the Trent headed in the direction of the prison, not to mention the Fae & Druid (still limping, that poor man) approaching the humans. I have to see!

"I'm going for a closer look," she said, moving towards the edge of the roof closest to the next building. "If you decide to come out of your funk, perhaps you'll join me?" She gave him a playful wink as she waved him a little goodbye & then crouched. What came next were a series of jumps as she leapt from one roof to the next, moving more like an animal on all fours to keep her balance. She only slipped a few times, when the gaps were wider than she'd judged, & she had to dig in with her claws to keep from falling.

While she couldn't reach the prison itself, she was able to make it to the nearest building, just close enough to be within earshot. She didn't know much of the Human language other than a few snippets she had picked up here & there, but she thought she heard their words for 'door', 'assist' & 'weapon'. She knew that word well. She peered over the edge of the roof, frowning. Why did they come? she wondered. For weapons?

Theridan grunted again. Humans...

"I should offer to vouch for them," he whispered, a cruel smirk on his face. "Plenty of opportunities to kill 'em off then."

And then the GM said that Osiris could suddenly understand the humans.

"Your weapons?" he said thoughtfully. "I'm not sure that having you carry weapons in this area would be a good idea. How about if I get them and carry them until it is time to leave. We don't aim to hurt you; we would have taken the opportunity to do so while you were unarmed instead of talking to you. Does this sound acceptable?"

Ashling might have laughed at the fact that everyone was meeting up at the same place. Jail.

She shook her head, seeing that Osiris and Nine were there.

The humans didn't seem to know who that was. Yet again, they did not say anything. She caught sight of a hidden Fae guard, so she grabbed at him. She tossed him in the building and waited for Phallo to come out.

The fact that she seemed to ignore the humans (if temporarily) was amazing. She was obsessive about keeping promises, and human involvement did not matter. Now once she had Phallo back, that would be a COMPLETELY different matter.

The guard must have been frightened because Phallo came out in a few minutes. "Daaamn woman. What did you do to that soldier? He looked like he was going to wet himself. Not that I mind you doing that for me," he said.

Ashling nodded.

But s**t on roots, I've screwed up my mission. Oh well. Perhaps she could bring back Aeon's head to her superiors. That might make up for the failed assassination. Or I could come back and complete my mission. What kind of excuse she could give to Azrial was a complete mystery. Eh. We'll go with Aeon.

Cypress bless the man, he seemed to be the answer for all her troubles.

This isn't making sense. An assassination for Azrial. Freely walking humans in Azrial's own city. Are they connected?

"My entertainment! You are here!" Nine seriously considered running up and hugging the two humans. He clasped his hands together girlishly with a malicious glint in his eye. "I was just on my way to rescue you and here. You. Are."

He listened to the conversation between Osiris and the humans for a bit, and only perked up when weapons were mentioned. "Yeah, if you get those... we're taking them. You people can't be trusted. Neither can I, obviously, but that's because I'm clinically insane." Here he winked conspiratorially at Darke. "But I'll gladly escort you! Give me your hand - it'll be like a dance!"

And then Ashling came in, totally dominated the situation, and sent Nine into an arms-akimbo, foot-tapping frenzy as he tightly resisted the urge to make Ashling flambé. "You know," he murmured to her with a scowl, "you'd look far better as a series of figurines."

"All right, let's everybody relax," Osiris said wearily. He was already getting far too used to managing Nine and groups of people. Tensions were already far too high; they had a disgruntled prisoner, equally disgruntled Trent, two angry (though luckily unarmed) humans, and a literally insane Fae who could probably go off at any time.

And then there was Osiris, who was too wounded to do much of anything if things went sour. Diplomacy was their only recourse at the moment.

"Nine is right," he said to the humans. "We can't just hand you your weapons in the middle of the city. I'll personally handle them, if you don't mind. Look at me; I'm not going anywhere with them." He smiled, hoping things would start to settle.

Luckily, at that moment Zuberi emerged from the darkness of a nearby alley and timidly took Osiris' hand. As much as he was bothered that the boy hadn't listened, Osiris knew that the presence of the child would force the group to step down their tensions for a time. That was good.

Theridan smiled; acrobatics, was it? He backed up a couple steps, ran down the building's roof (the noise his steps made no doubt sparking some curiosity in anyone inside) and leaped into the open air, rolling as he hit the rooftop across the narrow alleyway and continuing after Morea, matching her jump for jump. While she stopped, he tapped her on the head and began to descend the building, waving cheerily at a Fae inside as he continued downward.

"Ladies, gentlemen, psychopathic abominations alien and otherwise," he greeted them once he reached the street, nodded to Ashling, Osiris, the humans, and Nine in turn. "Why the hell are aliens walking in the streets?"

Trajan maintained his poker face. No sense in getting irritated now. "Fine. Weapons are yours 'till we're near humans. We get the weapons then. It'll be good for you too, if you're dragging us around unarmed they'll think you're carrying prisoners. I think that would be an unfortunate mistake." Then there was Saturnine, and the tree.

"You're Saturnine, hmm? We were captured, but we've been released pending some sort of assignment. I guess Azrail is just as interested in finding Aeon as you people are. We have a lead, but we need to make a trip first," Trajan explained, again.

And then there was the Trow. "I'm not repeating myself," Trajan informed Theridan, expressionlessly glancing over to the Trow.

"Nobody asked you to make noises at us, alien," Theridan snapped.

Before he could properly respond to Osiris, Theridan interjected. Donnie immediately rounded on Trow. "And nobody wants to hear your snide little voice. Learn some ******** diplomacy or shut your goddamn trap. We're supposed to be working together, not beating our arrogant chests and roaring at each other." Then he took a deep breath, and looked to Osiris. "We're agreed, then. Now let's move." He gestured in the general direction from which the Dane and Trajan had come.

"Hey, Nine," Theridan faux-whispered. "I'll bet pretty much nobody will do anything if you kill the aliens."

Trajan glanced over to Theridan. "Nobody except perhaps Azrail. Wouldn't we just love another civil war?" No expression marred the statement, no air of joke. "What have I done to you, trow?" Turning, Trajan tapped DuPont on the shoulder. "Let's just go. The ones who want to follow will," he murmured.
