[EVENT] Hide and seek - Open!

Caius nodded in agreement that it was terrible. Then the suggestion from the other leopard perked the males brow. By the boarder?

"No... I haven't thought to.. I uhhh.. I'm not really part of this pride just passing through. Afraid Im not to sure where they consider their boarder." The leopard stammered over his own words. "Might you know?"

Kalua heard the leopards chatting with each other. She decided it would be best to not be near them. Just passing through, meant they might also be hungry if they traveled far. She did not want to be their next meal. She pushed her snout to the ground again but could smell nothing that could lead her to a cub.

Alright maybe if he could see them and couldn't hear them maybe he could smell them? He sniffed around trying to find a scent that might be the cubs. There was nothing though. There were too many scents in the air for him to even try to find the cubs sent. He didn't even know what they spelt like. He started thinking letting his dark side look for them wasn't that bad of an idea.

No cubs again. Mchanga was beginning to grow tired of searching, but even growing tired would not stop her. She'd feel bad about giving up when not even a single cub had been discovered. Mchanga wouldn't give up on them, at least not until it was clear that they would never be found. While there was still hope, Mchanga would search. There were lands she wanted to explore, and this one she had no desire in to stay in for so long but... well, there was a certain feel of necessity to this search. She had no idea how long the cubs had been gone, but it must have been a while.

Kalua searched all over the place. She eventually sat down again. She had no idea where they could be hiding. Considering how long they had been looking, they must have passed right over or under the cubs many times. She thought to herself that she would never ever do this again. It was much harder than she thought it would originally be. Still, she had to keep trying. May as well finish what she joined in on.

Jazi hated to admit it even in his thoughts, but he was tired of searching. Not physically but mentally. The lack of success was draining his energy quickly. He just wanted one cub to be found. It didn’t even have to be by him. He just needed a sign that there was still hope the cubs would be found safe and unharmed. He hated to think otherwise. He kept walking forward, his head low but his voice just as soft and calming as always, betraying very little of his inner turmoil.

The mouse managed to catch a few more minutes of sleep, that was until a large paw descended right outside his burrow, shocking him straight up out of the nice little dream he'd been having. He'd found a whole half ripe fruit, and there wasn't another soul around!!

That dream quickly evaporated however, falling away as reality replaced it. He squeaked involuntarily, hoping the very moment after that none had heard him. Oh gods... he didn't want to be gobbled up!

Maybe cubs were just scared of him? He couldn't think of why, but it would explain why he hadn't found them yet. He tried to think of anything he had ever done to hurt a cub. There wasn't a single incident that he could think of. 'Even I haven't done anything against cubs.' His darker self added. Maybe it was because he was just to serious. He could understand that being an unattractive trait for someone to have in a cubs eyes. "Hm. Well if any cubs come out I promise to play games with them." And nothing. No cubs. He would have to try something else.

The older leopard chuckled and offered the stranger a smile. It was good to know that the leopard-kin was at least kind enough to stop and help a potential rival tribe out if it came to it. After all, cubs were innocents. If they were in trouble it was their duty to give a helping paw.

"A fellow nomad. But not a learned one I see." He jerked his head back over one shoulder. "Follow the scent markers. Most tribes mark their borders with a scent. It's just a mile back that way."

It was time for a break. Her paws were beginning to grow sore, even though the pads had been roughened by years of travel. She was a leopardess that enjoyed lounging around, and while she was fairly active, it wasn't her preference. She stopped her search, sitting down to catch her breath. Her eyes and ears remained peeled for any signs of life, but there was little disturbance in the jungle underbrush. A cub would make a lot of noise unless it wasn't moving. Why the little brats wouldn't realize how much people were searching for them and come out already was beyond her comprehension. She just hoped it didn't mean they were hurt.

An idea struck. She would practice on her ball curling thing she'd been working on! Laughing, she ran straight forward at her top speed before curling up in a ball and literally rolling, grunting when she hit a tree. "Ha! that was the longest one yet!"

It was starting to get hard to find the motivation to continue searching. First off, these were not her cubs. Boars couldn't even have cubs to begin with. Second, she was their food source so she really shouldn't be helping them survive. She was sure that leopards would not help a boar find her piglets if they got lost. Then she thought of how scared and helpless they must be. Well, certainly not helpless at hiding. If hiding could feed them, they wouldn't need any help at all.

What was this? Another leopard? Shakuntala raised a paw, peeking at the new leopard. As she rose to a sitting position, she let out a light puff of air. "I'm afraid we've tried everywhere..." She flicked her ears and heard the cubs giggling again. At least two were coming from the trees, and that made it all the MORE frustrating. She glared at the trees, hoping the cubs could see her doing so. "They're sneaky little terrors, that's what they are!"

The little mouse curled in his nest, shuddering with fear until the large cat passed, seemingly unaware of his tiny life so near the large paw and sharp claws. All the more lucky for the little mouse.

He had no idea they were searching for cubs, and didn't care, really. But he was starting to think his little nest was a bad place to be... there seemed to be cats all around him, and so close! He was thinking about moving to a different area when he peeked his nose out to look around.

"I wasn't always a nomad," The leopard frowned remembering his home pride and mother. Atia ... if she was still alive. "But .. now I suppose we are like brothers as now I am." He was unsure if he should be offended by being called not learned or not. Part of him wanted to be but he swallowed his pride. They were here to find cubs after all.

"Alright. Ummm... I suppose it might be good to start toward that way then," He offered a nod.
