Dark & Handsome Name: Sefu Owner's Name: moineau bavarde Personality: Sefu has no moral compass and a poorly developed sense of self. He changes his name, morals, and personality to suit whoever he’s with and whichever pride he’s nearest to. His experience with far-flung prides has taught him that there is more than one way to live and more than one set of rules to live by – so why pick one? He’ll follow rules to blend in, but “right” and “wrong” are fuzzy concepts at best.
Despite all this (or perhaps because of it), his default personality is sweet and charming and he never holds a grudge. He’s a good enough fighter to win most fights and smart enough to run from ones he’s likely to lose. He won’t let anyone push him around or make him do something he doesn’t want to do, but he’s not the brightest male and can be talked into doing foolish things. He holds gods in high esteem and will carry out any task they give him, provided it doesn’t take too long to do.
He gets bored easily and although he hangs around the borders of prides, he rarely does so very long and has no intention of joining one. Plot Plans: Initially he’ll wander the rogue lands, hanging out near prides and being his usual flaky self. He’ll do good things and bad things in equal measure, not understanding the difference between them. Help catch slaves for the demon pride? Sounds cool. Help a distraught mother find her lost cub? Sounds cool.
Everything will change once he abducts another lion simply because someone asked him to. It won’t be the first time he’s done such a thing, but this lion will belittle him for his lack of morals the entire way back. NAME will grow confused by the arguments the lion presents and release them. The lion, male or female, will start following him everywhere he goes and continue to criticize him. At first Sefu will be annoyed by this, but in time they’ll become either very close friends or mates. Either way, the other lion will become Sefu’s moral compass, telling him whether the things he’s doing or good or bad.
Sefu will always have difficulty understanding why stealing is bad and telling the truth is good, but under his friend/mate’s influence he’ll develop a set of rules to follow and maintain a consistent personality. Ultimately I’d like him to join the swampies with his lion friend/mate, and change his name one last time. He’ll stick to his new name and settle down to raise a family.

I Have Class Name: Haa Owner's Name: Krysin Prompt Response: It was alive. Haa hadn't believed that such a small cub could survive even the remotest of injuries. The only reason she had ventured close enough was because she was curious to see what it was. From a distance it was difficult to realize that the small form was a cub. The fur was matted with blood, so the wound itself was difficult to see, and Haa wasn't exactly keen on touching the thing. Her mother would have left the thing to die, and Haa wanted to as well.
Her relationship with her mother was... strange, to say the least. It was something that she couldn't properly describe. The words were hard to form in her mind, and if they did they were far from fluent and instead were mildly embarrassing. How could someone love a mother like Uuni? Her brother and herself only truly received attention when their mother had a use for them. It made it difficult to discern whether Uuni truly cared for them, or just found them to be similar to a tool. Surely it would cause any cub to resent their parent, but oddly enough Haa didn't. She was embarrassed to admit that her mother was still a mystery to her, and that intrigue kept her from resenting Uuni. Haa couldn't hate Uuni for being how she was, but to say that she loved her was a stretch.
Uuni would have left the cub to die, and her brother likely would have done the same. The Nergui likely dealt a fair bit of damage before going on their way, and it was really a miracle that the cub was still breathing. Glancing slowly from her left to her right. She half-expected her mother to be to one side, and her brother looming not far by. They weren't there, but that didn't take the edge off of her paranoia. They would tease her for the thoughts going through her head, and tease her even more for acting on them. It really was a shame there wasn't a source of water nearby that she could dump the cub into first. With a clear grimace, she picked the youth up with her jaws, trying not to choke on the taste of blood and dirt. Really, blood wasn't as appetizing when it belonged to the same species as herself. The cub groaned, which at least showed it had some awareness, so maybe it would survive.
She took the cub far away from the Nergui lands, cleaned it up, and then lay to rest beside it.
When morning came, the cub was awake, mumbling something underneath its breath. The cub was darkly colored, plain looking. Its eyes were closed, which were likely for the better since it could not see the expression on Haa's face. Her pink eyes were dark, haunted. The corners of her lips were drawn down into a small frown. Paranoia crept up into her mind once again, and she banished the look from her face out of fear that the cub would see it.
For weeks, she remained with the cub. She would carry the boy to a watering hole to drink, would bring him the tiniest morsels of meat so that he could manage to swallow them on his own. There was improvement from the first day she saw him, but Haa knew he should be doing better. His injury was nearly closed, but he battled constant fevers, suffered through numerous delusions and hallucinations. He would have moments of clarity where Haa would smile down at him and entertain him.
'You'll be alright, Varn. You'll pull through this.'
'You're getting better. There is a light to your eye's.'
'It's okay. I'm here.'
Their conversations were always short, but Haa was never far from the cub. When he passed away, she was by his side, whispering warm words of comfort, trying to hide just how shallow her heart felt in that moment. The grief came easily, though for all reasons it shouldn't have. Haa had known since her first night with the cub that he wouldn't last long. The vision had been clear, she had seen the life drain from his body twice. She had stayed despite knowing that he would die. Haa had stayed to give him comfort, to give him a chance, to fill him with hope. And maybe she too had come to hope that her vision had been wrong.
She had hoped that he would survive, so that she would not feel so miserable without him. For the first time in her life, she cried. Haa wished she could say that her crying was dignified, that only a few tears were shed. But she sobbed and cried for hours, stayed by his body in hope that he would come back to her. Couldn't someone, anyone, make him come back to her?
Months would pass, and never would Haa feel anything close to the connection that she had with Varn in just those few weeks.
