SubonicXP Blizzard120 A notion that Pryce knew was going to happen regardless; just as before the Pain Split manages to rob the Piloswine with a fair bit of its strength to use in this fight, but the fight wasn't over by any means. "Piloswine! Ice Fang!" The gym leader commanded. "PILOOOO!!!" The Piloswine's tusks ices up, making them look considerably larger and painful should anything get caught up in them. The large hairy behemoth then charges full steam ahead towards the Mega Sableye. Poe would let out a bit of a dramatic, almost cartoony, shriek as the Piloswine gained much bigger tusks made of ice, the imp cowering behind his massive gem shield and 'shivered'. Sub would just roll his eyes at Poe and proceed to give him his next command. "Hold your ground and use Metal Burst!" The Dark One ordered. Dropping the comical actions the Mega Sableye would get its self in position behind its massive gem and prepare for the incoming Piloswine as it charged towards him, Poe watching him from behind his transparent gem. The Swine Pokemon would slam into the gem with such force and power that Poe began to slid backwards across the icy field as the Piloswine pushed against his gem. As Pryce's Pokemon pushed the gem would begin to glower brighter and brighter until it gave off an explosive blast of silvery energy, Poe holding his footing this time as he dug in with his claws, and actually getting to use its gem as a shield for once. Despite holding his ground he was left harmed by the Ice Fang, pushing back against such force would wear down anyone. The leader's eyes narrowed. What Sub probably failed to realize, this was just what Pryce needed. Sub at one time would wonder why and how did this leader's apprentice get such a rather strong affinity, if not out right bias, when it came to counter attacks. The Snagem leader would find out why. With the damage from the Metal Burst clashed with the Ice Fang attack, Pryce would give the command: "Piloswine! Avalanche!" The Piloswine bellowed out and charged forward, retaliating on the Mega Sableye with massive force, with a massive surge of ice and snow following up in its wake.

Sub's eyes would go wide upon the command of an Avalanche, the Piloswine wasting no time in obeying the command as it rushed towards Poe, all kinds of frozen substances joining with it in its charge. There was simply no time for Poe to put up a Protect and save himself, but maybe... "Poe! Use-" From Pryce's side Sub's command would become drowned out by the mad stampede of his Piloswine, the Pokemon soon slamming into Poe with a fierce explosion of snow and ice. Once things had settled Poe would disappear from sight, now buried in a pile of water frozen to various degrees. At first even Sub thought this was it, that Poe just couldn't take anymore abuse. Much to his surprise however a tiny little purple hand would claw its way out of the snow pile, Poe slowly but surely digging his way out, steam rising up from his body as the imp locked eyes with Pryce himself, a devious grin on his face. His gem was lost somewhere under the snow but he didn't seem to mind as his wounds began to heal a little at a time, the steam resulting from the healing process producing heat as his wounds healed. It looked like Sub's command got to Poe and the Mega Sableye managed to pull off a Recover just in time, that said while Poe's physical body appeared able to take more abuse he wasn't sure how much longer mentally the Darkness Pokemon could hold up, especially now that he has lost his gem, which was a security blanket just as much as a shield.

It looked like Sub's command got to Poe and the Mega Sableye managed to pull off a Recover just in time, that said while Poe's physical body appeared able to take more abuse he wasn't sure how much longer mentally the Darkness Pokemon could hold up, especially now that he has lost his gem, which was a security blanket just as much as a shield. The gym leader would be lying if he said he didn't think it would have been over after that. The Avalanche attack was the proverbial ace up his sleeve and it got mitigated by the recovery efforts of the Sableye. Granted, it lost its crystal shield in the chaos, but it doesn't change the fact that its still standing and still very much a threat. Needless to say, Pryce wasn't sure how much longer his Piloswine was going to keep going either, not after those first few moments clashing and retaliating. The Mahogany gym leader's options were very few. "Icicle Crash!" Pryce called out. The Piloswine dug in the wake of its chaos, and shoveled out a massive chunk of ice, rushing forth with it, enough to give it a hard toss towards the Sableye.

As the Mega Sableye came down, he would crash down on a bunch of crushed ice from the battle's progression. As Poe missed and shattered more ice he would let out some profanities, confirming that if Pokemon could talk, which Poe can, some would curse like sailors. While Sub could no longer see his Pokemon in the mist he had a pretty good idea of what happened after hearing Poe rant and rave. This was embarrassing. "Chill out, Poe. This isn't over yet. Thankfully they've given us a breather so let's use it, Recover!" Sub commanded. With a cackle the Mega Sableye's back gems would begin to glow as they appeared to be the 'organ' responsible for healing him, the crystals unleashing a wave of healing energy through the imp body as more and more of its wounds were healed.

Right from under the Sableye, the ice trembled, rumbled, then in a furious roar, the Piloswine shot out of the ground, ice and snow flying everywhere. Piloswine used Dig. "There we go! Grab it, Poe!" Sub shouted, almost cackling with glee. Now Pryce was the one acting pretty predictable, this felt like something right out of Blizz's book and this time he was prepared for it. While Poe's Recover was indeed interrupted at least it got a little healing in, otherwise this Dig attack would have probably buried him (pun intended). With a smile the Mega Sableye would take the hit and then proceed to latch onto the Piloswine's body, digging his claws in. "Now Power Gem!" The Snagem leader commanded. Responding to the command with almost maniacal laughter Poe's body gems would begin to glow. At first nothing much seemed to happen but if Pryce notice it the snow pile which Poe's giant gem once rested on was now much smaller as the snow collapsed on its self. Without much to ponder what happened over there a flurry of much smaller gems would shoot up out of the Piloswine's tunnel, stopping in mid air briefly as they completely surrounded both Poe and Piloswine. With a flash of his eye gems and kicking off the Swine Pokemon the floating gems would rain down on the Piloswine, pelting it from all around it as the imp escaped the zone just barely in time to watch the gem shower, a look of glee on his face. Poe might not have his favorite gem and shield but they certainly weren't going to let go to waste what contained the bulk of his Mega Evolution power.

Pryce, much that he didn't care for it, had to admit, he was out-gambitted. As the Power Gem came down on the Piloswine, more ice and snow kicked up everywhere from the devastating attack. Pryce had to turn away for a second to shield his eyes then looked back at the chaos that was wrought upon the battlefield. The Piloswine was still standing for a moment, but it was only a moment. The Piloswine tottered left and right, until one droll moan came from the Piloswine then finally collapsing on its side, out for the count and out of this battle. What looked like a battle that was clearly in his favor was taken from him just like that.
The seasoned leader had a feeling that one of these days, in his remaining days of gym leading, that he'd end up losing to a Mega Evolved Pokemon, although he wasn't going to make it easy for anyone. Even in exhibition matches, such as Janice who recently obtained her own capabilities for her Steelix couldn't stand up to the experience that was Pryce. Though it could have very well been that Janice herself was new to it and didn't know what the Steelix was capable of then in its newfound state. That said, although he was resigned to that fact that a loss was inevitable, at the very least ever since his apprentice told him about the discoveries his apprentice had in the Kalos region, this one didn't quite sit well with him for some reason, and he couldn't explain why. This wasn't like the other scant few of Mega Evolution battles that he had prior to defending the gym against Sub.
The ref at the sidelines looked on, assessing the battle as it unfolded, raised his flags. "The battle is over! Victor is Sub!" The ref proclaimed.
The old man looked down towards the ice for a second, silent, but then took out the Pokeball and pointed it at his old friend. "Piloswine, you battled fiercely today. Thank you. Return." he said, recalling the fallen beast back to its ball. Regardless of how off this battle felt to him, it was still a loss never the less. As he stashes the Pokeball, the ref arrives by the old man's side and hands him a small envelope. With a nod, Pryce walks upon the battlefield towards Sub. It was what the Snagem leader came for, after all.

Sub would recall his Sableye, the Dusk Ball drawing in all the pieces of gem along with it as they were technically parts of the Pokemon too. With a very exaggerated prideful walk the Dark One would approach the gym leader and with both hands pressed together, palms up, he awaited for the envelope to be put in them...which didn't happen and he ended up taking it himself. Now he sees where Blizz gets his attitude from, neither seems to take a joke.
"Thank you very much. Just like my battles with the old Cold One this was a hard fought victory. That said, you do know I'm going to brag to him about this, right?" He said with a fiendish smile as he pocketed the envelope. "Either way, I'll send your love to Blizz, you don't have to ask, I'm glad to do it!" He said cheerfully before walking off. Now onto Blackthorn City and Claire.
[Some time later.]
"Blackthorn City gym. I wonder if I'll run into Darts here, or maybe RC. Does RC even come here anymore? Hm...don't think so." He said with a shrug as he entered the gym.

SubonicXP [Some time later.] "Blackthorn City gym. I wonder if I'll run into Darts here, or maybe RC. Does RC even come here anymore? Hm...don't think so." He said with a shrug as he entered the gym. The first thing Sub would notice upon opening the door to the gym was a rush of pressurized heat wafting into his face as soon as the elaborate door was pulled aside, causing the temperature to attempt to equalize. The boiling pools of lava inside the building probably had something to do with it, liquid pumice bubbling and frothing out a set of paces from Sub down at the bottom of an artificial rock ravine. The heat was sweltering and oppressive, waves of insipid temperature floating off of the top of the indoor magma chamber. There was what looked to be some kind of lobby area set just off to the left with a receptionist's desk and a couple of padded chairs arranged neatly in formation. A friendly-looking blonde was leafing through a magazine, cool and comfortable behind a solid wall of heat resistant glass that ringed her reception area. It was evident that the thing was air-conditioned as a vent above her head kept blowing some strands of golden hair out of her face. She blows a bubble with her gum and allows it to pop, flipping another page.

It was evident that the thing was air-conditioned as a vent above her head kept blowing some strands of golden hair out of her face. She blows a bubble with her gum and allows it to pop, flipping another page. Sub was not prepared for the sudden change in tempurature, the sudden rush of near-searing air hitting him hard and taking him by such surprise that before entering he took a few seconds to make sure his eyebrows were still there. He lost them once and would hate to go through that again. After confirming his eyebrows were still in fact he would proceed in, the door shutting behind. Again he was taken by surprise as he discovered the source of the heat, literally pool of lava, in the gym! He had seen some wacky gyms in his day but this one took the Lava Cookies. How did she manage to constrict this? Does this place sit over an active volcano? Why is the Pokemon League okay with this? Children are expected to come here! Ignoring the hundreds of questions he had about the safety of this place the Snagem leader would take note of the lobby area and more importantly the receptionist. Wasting no more time he proceeded on over and after seeing no bell or button he chose to just tap on the glass to get her attention. Despite how life threatening this gym was it was pretty modern and nice in some ways.

She reaches down and depresses a button near the front of her work surface, leaning in to speak into a short-stemmed microphone. "Oh, hello!" She says with a friendly smile. "Didn't see ya there. It's the end of our day here." She sets aside her magazine and turns to the computer to her right and hits a couple keys on the keyboard, booting her machine up. "What can I help you with mister...?" "Sub." The man quickly and plainly replied. After waiting a second or two for the strange name to sink in for the woman he would elaborate further on his name. "My mother lost a best." And he would leave it at that. "Is the mistress of the manor herself in? I'm looking for a battle, of course." He said to the receptionist as he glanced around the area a bit, pulling at his shirt occasionally as he attempted to peel it off of his sweaty body. It was hot in here.

And he would leave it at that. "Is the mistress of the manor herself in? I'm looking for a battle, of course." He said to the receptionist as he glanced around the area a bit, pulling at his shirt occasionally as he attempted to peel it off of his sweaty body. It was hot in here. "Let me check and see what she has on her schedule." She clicks off the microphone and picks up a phone behind the desk and though Sub cannot hear the words it appears as if there's some back and forth and the mentioning of his name via lip-reading. After a couple moments of bandying, she clicks back on her microphone with an odd look on her face that quickly passes. "Clair says to take a seat and she will be right with you." She gestures helpfully to the various couches and chairs scattered around in the heat for him to wait.
