Ahhh, yes. The always differing opinion on which pet is better: dog or cat.

Oh man... I wanted to fly OPFOR. You guys cut through ties like butter, you need someone decent to fight not the dregs of the Academy.

stellarmagic Oh man... I wanted to fly OPFOR. You guys cut through ties like butter, you need someone decent to fight not the dregs of the Academy. Tough s**t sherlock. You have to defect by the end of the mission, one way or another. You can fly as a TIE pilot, but not for long. We're basically trying to replace Rogue squadron. And last time I checked, Rogue wasn't exactly a mediocre squadron at all either. Wedge can blast TIEs like butter. Of course, that is "unrealistic", isn't it? that a pilot can take on multiple opponents?

Not really... A good pilot can take on multiple pilots of lesser caliber, but only one of equal caliber. Still, Rogue Squadron against one Imperial Squadron, about 1/4 of the time (More in the OT less in the EU) someone dies.
The green replacements will die first, thats for sure.

The Squadron has less than 5 "regulars". The rest have died in battle. Trust me, we've had our fair share of losses to cover those we cut down.
addendum: I was also being sarcastic. The only problem which I can see with the RP is that I'm basing it off fighter pilot missions, transposed into starwars, so I fear that I may lose some benefits from the fact most of my stuff is for planes, and I falter at converting what is required for space missions.

I still have a deep rooted affection for the TIE Interceptor, and am pretty proficient in an TIE/Ln.
I'd be willing to do it so long as I get to keep flying the Squint. If you really make me angry I'll just have to switch from the squint to the gunship modification (She's scary).
