"Hello there!" Sub said waving to Kai before heading into the training room. "Do you wish to join us for some training?" He asked the trainer before heading into the room. "Alright, so Ice Beam training is up first huh? Well then I hope you brought your jacket cause it's going to get chilly!" Sub said taking out his SNAG and spoke into it. "GRAY, prepare the arctic field in the training room for me will you?" He asked the AI. "Arctic field it is then, I hope you don't get frost bite because then I'll have to call an ambulance and that's too much work. Oh, there is some jackets and scarves in the corner of the room, in case you water filled humans can't take the cold. Regardless, arctic field coming up." As GRAY finished talking the battlefield in the training room began to lower into the ground and rising up from the rectangle hole left behind a new field rose up, a frozen tundra-like field with large chunks of boulder sized ice, various frost covered rocks, and a slick sheet of ice covering the ground, the temperature also dropped in the training room.

"Try again," he said to Snover as they continued the training. He nodded and concentrated, letting out a cool mist. However, it was still Powder Snow, freezing the ground. "Remeber," he said to Frose. "It's only similar. Not the same as. Meaning, try not to freeze anything." Frose nodded and focused again. They had been practicing this technique for a while now, trying to use Icy Wind. It seemed to difficult a task, though. However, that was what they thought. This time, a sparkling mist filled with blue snow came out, giving off only a cold chill. "Icy Wind," he said, squatting down to pat Frose on the head. "Good job Frose." Snover blinked in surprise. They then kept training, trying to master the technique. Once they were sure they had got it down, they decided to go back into the Hq, slumping on one of the couches.

"Well Kai, if you would like your Shellos could join in on the Ice Beam training." He said to the trainer as he removed a pokeball from his vest. "Alright, why don't I let the teacher's aid out? Come on Lenore, I'll need your help for this one." Sub said pushing the button on the ball, causing the device to pop open and in a show of light Lenore the Weavile appeared from within. "Vile." Huffed the Dark type as she folded her arms and just shot a glare at the other Pokemon.
"Alright then, first thing is first, if all of our students are out on the field, for you Water types we are going to start by practicing Water Gun, or Water Pulse. The goal is to use the stream of water to pierce one of those chunks of ice, but don't smash it. So in order to do this instead of increasing the power of the water stream you need to condense it, make it compact and contain a tight sharp jet that can pierce the ice, got it?"

Kai nodded, and released his Shellos. The blue and green Pokemon began to slither or whatever slugs did out onto the battle field, which made it shiver a little bit. Shellos were from Sinnoh, however, and the Pokemon soon adapted to the colder temperatures. Kai listened intently to what Sub had said, and began to command Shellos. "All right, Shellos use Water Pulse on the ice, but condense it." Shellos did as told, condesing the rings until they looked like streams. But, Shellos could not get any power, and when it added power, the streams turned back into rings, which smashed the ice. Shellos kept trying, making slow progress.

Kai made Shellos try again. The Pokemon was getting closer this time, but it still could not pierce the ice. Either it barely did anything, or totally smashed it to pieces. Kai felt a little stressed. The leader of his new team was right there, but he was unable to do the task asked of him. Kai calmed down. Shellos was trying it's hardest. Soon, the water Pulse was denting the rock slightly. "Alright, try to keep it condensed just like that, but ramp up the power. I know you can do this, you are a strong Pokemon." Shellos nodded, encouraged by his words. It shot a stream of water, and after a few moments, it pierced through the ice. It was imperfect, but a start.
