The light faded and Aisling fainted-exhausted.

Dougal speaks..

"I am a coward.....
Beelio knows this to be true
And so now do you.

*he looks to the resting Aisling*

Though siblings we once called each other
There is no blood that binds us
Hence forth-I shall be your enemy, sister.....

Ha-I no longer have the right to call you so......"

Dougal then looks to Adam with a blank expression.

"What now ancient one?
What will you do?
Your powers are weakening
-The whole ploy of this plan.
And when you must return to hell
Who will protect her then?"

“You know well enough that blood has nothing to do with family.” Adam said with distaste.

Aisling, you have to learn how to run. Turn invisible if you can and run. I will come with you as far as I can, but you will have to hide alone Adam mentally said to aisling. His headache increased and he winced agaisnt it.

“Dougal, please. Listen to your heart, not your fear.”

Aisling heard Adams voice and her eyes fluttered open. ".....Aisling....flee...." She responded sadly as she faded from view and her presence seemed to vanish.


Dougal speaks once more

"My heart, archdemon, is too weak of fear...
and so shall be no more-it will die this day.

For slowly only mirrors....
Reflections of emotions remain.

I shall only say one thing more....*he tilts his head down*

Aisling-I thank you for the memories
Which are now like a passing dream
Like your name does mean."

Dougal's head then shoots upward and he stares at Adam-his eyes emotionless.

"My heart, archdemon,
Is no more the fear has now consumed it-it has died this day."

Dougal take's a defensive position.

“Then I am truly sorry, and,” Adam said, gripping his scythe and taking an offensive position. “I prey that I can find your soul when I send you to hell, and help you redeem yourself.”

"You pity me?.....*laughs*.....like she...," Dougal.

"Well then ancient one...
I hope I won't be such an easy match.

And when this battle over
Perhaps our paths will cross again & shall we meet."

Dougal charges forward with blinding speed-his chains lash out.

Adam winced. He hoped to God that killing Dougal would only make him a full demon, and not violate the ‘thou shalt not kill’ rule. He had not broken that rule since his creation and he wasn’t about to start now.

Adam refused to make the same mistake twice and instead of usuing his scythe to block the chains he used an arm. He yanked with all his strength, at the same time sweeping the scythe at Dougal.

Dougal flew forward at Adam's strength and gave a half smile to Adam.

He glanced up into the archdemon's blue eyes. "......protect her while you're still able...," Dougal then closed his eyes for what would happen next. He laughed, "Beelio will not be pleased with me."

“When you reach Hell, hide in the caves. I will find you.”
Adam said with a sad smile. With that he swung his blade and slashed through Dougal.

Dougal's cry echoed through the air.

Into the darkness he decsended.....
and when he landed....
fast as he could he ran....
to the caves that Adam instructed....
there he waits and waits.....

Adaam sighed and raised his blood splattered scythe. His headache grew splittingly large, joined by a screeching ringing in his ears.
Aisling, run please...
“I have to go... Saito if you are trustworthy, please help the exorcists.”

With that he sladhed into the dimension to begin his task of collecting souls...

As Aisling fled she heard her brother's echo.

To herself she said, "....Aisling......alone again....."

Natasha dashed down the alleyways but found nothing but the broken body of a demon-man. She frowned.
“Was that the scream? What happened here?”

To say that Adam rushed through the deaths he was charged to that day was an understatement - anxious that the other demons would not inaugurate Dougal into Hell in the only bloody way they new how - he passed over as many souls as he could. But he did not grow careless, for those he could he saved them form flatlining.
By the time he was weak enough to have to return to hell, he had decomposed - a nice little way satan had of knowing how many people he had saved.
When he touched down on the dusty ground of hell, he was different to look at. One side of his cheek was decomposed away, exposing his fanged teeth behind it, and his ribcage was exposed and visible - his lungs rising and falling inside of it while he breathed. It was not painful to him, but nevertheless shamed him. He supposed that vanity was a sin he held, although he felt justified in lamenting his current appearance. His wings had begun to grow back, the shattered ends of the arm-part of the wings gradually growing back. However he was forced to remain on foot for a good while yet.
Hoping not to draw too much attention from the prowling scavengers, he nevertheless jogged towards the caves he knew of. Hell- being a kind of cavern in itself, was full of them. But there were a few that he knew, and he hoped that his projected image of them had reached Dougal.

((lol, sweet-seems like everyone has a changling now.....and yes-Kelp (the satyr) is the father to little Faust.))

Dougal sat and waited-fighting off scavengers when needed.

"If Beelio finds me I'll truly be damned....," he thought to himself.
