Mika stared after him, not able to keep his eyes off Iroha. When he had disappeared into the house, he admitted that he had to go and that there was no point in staying any longer. With a sigh, Mika accepted defeat and got inside his car, getting back to his apartment.

TIME SKIP-------------->Next Day
Iroha found himself bedridden. He had caught a cold from the rain. Coughing and wheezing, he was told to rest in his bed as his grandparents went out to get herbs to make medicine and his sister attends school and to turn in his homework. He was alone at home, with just a bucket of ice cold water next to him. The thing he hated most was becoming ill.

Such a boring day... All Mika could do was sit on the couch and watch television. It occurred to Mika that the rain was gone and was replaced by the sun. He got up and went out onto his apartment's patio to enjoy the sun as he read a book.

Tired of just laying on his back, he took the towel from his head and placed it in the bowl as he sat up. "..." laying his hand on his forehead, he stared at the floor for a couple of minutes for the dizziness to slip away. He coughed a bit as he walked out of his room and down the stairs to look for some medicine to subdue his fever for a while, till his grandparents were to return home.

I should have asked him for his number...
Boredom had reached him. He thought for awhile.
He is just so adorable. I wonder if I asked him out on a date if it would creep him out? I don't even know if he would like being with a guy or not. But what if I decided to ask him out and he hated me for it, not wanting to be my friend anymore? I guess I should just wait longer to get to know him before I would ask. Then I would have a better chance at staying his friend if he declined to go out with me.
Mika poundered the question in his head, thinking it through, finally letting his mind go at ease.

The boy felt lonely in the big empty house, that is only being occupied by himself. He remembered the number that Mika had given him and thought for a bit. '...Should I call...? He might be busy though.' he shook his head which made him dizzy for a second and decided to call him anyway. Picking up the house phone and Mika's number, he began to dial and waited.

Mika was startled for a second to hear his phone ring. He looked at the number, not noticing it. He didn't even recognize it. Of course thoguh, he answered it. "Good morning. Mika speaking, may I ask who is calling?" He asked politely.

Iroha felt nervous instantly after hearing Mika speak. His face warmed up as he felt a lump in his throat. Trying to swallow it, he stuttered, "H-he...hello...? I-it's iroha..." he spoke quietly. He was very unexperienced to this, calling a friend and such. Mika was the first for him to ever call who isn't a family member.

"Oh! Iroha, how unexpected. How are you on this fine morning?" Mika asked excitedly, but surprised that he actually called. Though Mika was happy. Any contact with Iroha was a great thing, since he did seem like the type who was unsocialable.

Coughing from behind the phone, he appoligized. "S-sorry. I have a cold..." he said over the phone. "Um...I don't really know what to say..." He felt his face warm up a bit more, as his face flushed red of embarrassment.

Mika sighed sympathetically. "Say whatever comes to mind or what you want to talk about. I thought you might get a cold, though. Hey, if you need anything, I would be glad to help. I could run to the store and pick up anything you want." Mika said. Not only would he do that because Iroha was his friend, but also because he felt partly responsible for Iroha's cold.

"No, it's fine. My grandparents are out to find ingredients for a remedy." he replied, "But...thanks for the thought..." He coughed once more. Iroha cleared his throat "Ahem, hm...so...um...what do you do for work...?" he asked, trying to start up a conversation with the other.

"I want to go to college. Been trying to get accept in a certain one, and finally just recently got accepted to one. So now I am just waiting around till school starts. I earn my money though by playing drums in a band." Mika answered.

"...You play in a band?" Iroha asked, "Can I hear you guys play one day?"

"Yeah, sure. Of course. You can also find it easily on youtube. Our band's name is NightWish13." Mika said, twirling his hair.
And old habit he got into when he was having fun talking to someone he had a crush on. He stopped playing with his hair.
I shouldn't be thinking of Iroha as someone more than a friend.
