Witnessing the intensity of the show skyrocket even further, Ryouta's eyes were glued to the screen as the masked trainer started to punch and kick the bad guys. Feeling pracitically giddy as the man lowered his horned helmet and charged at the big bad while his Heracross did the same to the man's Obstagoon, it suddenly cut to commercials. Feeling disappointed they cut away from the show right then, the boy and his Aron let out a sigh. It was at that moment the boy noticed something was off.

Glancing at the person who joined him out of the corner of his eye, the boy recognized her. That was the girl who had the canine Pokemon. She was with that guy who found them to be a bother, wasn't she? Turning his head to look at her, he didn't realize his goggles were not over them. Looking at her with his almost predatory gaze, he was wondering why she had come over to him. Had he done something to upset her?

With there being a silence between them, the boy's Nidoran friend seemed to be watching her as well. A chirp coming from him, the boy snapped out of it. His gaze shifting down to the Pokemon, he began to scratch them behind the ear. "Ya can't undastand ma wurds styll?" He asked her in something of a soft voice. Feeling Gaidoku kicking his leg as he enjoyed the attention, the boy was wondering quite the number of things.

As the show came back on, the trio's gaze turned to the screen. Watching as the trainer and Heracross rammed into the baddy and his Obstagoon, the two of them were hurled into the air. It was then they both exploded!? As the man and his Obstagoon fell to the ground, the trainer changed back to normal and with the help of his Heracross cuffed the man, all before fleeing before the cops arrived. While Kenshi began shaking with excitement, Ryouta started to do the same.

Turning his attention back to the girl who joined him, he didn't know what to say now. Ignoring the next show that started playing afterwards, the boy's feline-like eyes remained on her as he tried to come up with something to say to her. A faint hum coming from him as he tilted his head a little, a question did surface. "Da Gym. Can'ya 'elp me wiffit?" He asked her, remembering that Caius said that if he took on the Gyms and did the Pokemon League, he might find his way to his sister.

_____Deep below the small town of Beocht (while trainers were waking up and discovering what the mining center of Citra had to offer), the sounds of heavy footfalls, grinding of machinery, and the clacking of rock and metal echoed throughout long tunnels that snaked ever downward from the surface. Within a hollowed-out room a little off the main path, Arys sighed and removed the goggles from his eyes, letting them rest on his hat. Though not miners themselves, the DeLocke business would often be called upon to maintain some of the equipment so as not to let them become detrimental to the operation. One last job before regrouping with the others and moving ahead in his journey. If the group was even to remain the same. Arys was uncertain, but remained nonetheless excited to continue on. The knot in his stomach he had first experienced being thrust onto the stage had yet to truly vanish. It was scary. And exciting.

_____-Flash back- The previous night, as the others respectfully denied his offer of shelter, Arys had shrugged and told them not to worry about it, and that he would meet up with them later. They parted for the night, and he had gone home to sleep in his familiar bed. The realization of the journey ahead of him finally hit, and he wondered how he would mention this to his father. The man was always supportive in his ecstatic way, but Arys couldn't help but feel like he was shrugging off his duties. Falling asleep with a heavy decision on his mind, Arys went to the shop and wrote a short letter to his father, explaining the opportunity that had had landed upon him. He signed it with an "I'll be in touch," and left it on the table. He had a quick breakfast, and went to leave, but not without first checking the shop's voicemail. There was one message, requesting a check on a certain vent within the mine. Arys paused and shrugged, deleting the message. "Why not," he said to himself, "one last job."

_____-Flash forward-With sweat on his brow, Arys gave a tense breath out and pulled on the valve with his wrench to finally open the vent he had been cleaning. A flurry of wings flew behind him, and in surprise he fell back as the valve opened, releasing a hiss of steam. "Ugh. Freaking Zubat." Arys pulled himself up and off the ground, holding his trademark wrench as he looked around the room. His eyes fell on the Zubat and he gave a grin. "Alright. Let's see what you can do." Arys pulled a poké ball from his bag and released in a flash of light an aloof Magby. The Zubat noticed the threat and sent a supersonic wave towards Ignis, who became dizzy and struggled to stand up straight. "Shake it off Ignis, shake it off. Give it a taste of it's own medicine with a smokescreen." Ignis gave himself a waking slap in the face, jumping with a "MAG-" and firing a ball of smoke into the ground, covering the entire room in a haze. Arys hugged a wall, using a flashlight from his toolkit to gain a vantage point. The Zubat, seemingly unaffected by the smoke in the room, began an astonishing onslaught of attacks on Ignis. Arys shook his head in disappointment of himself. "Hang in there Ignis. Wait for your opporutnity!" Ignis continued to endure strikes from the Zubat, which appeared to have the upper hand.
_____Quickly though, the smoke began to dissipate as the vent began to clear the room as designed. Ignis, now able to see his assailant, began to spew embers from his mouth with a passion. The Zubat, screeching from it's burns realized the danger it was in, and quickly flew down the tunnels, egged on by Arys as well. "And don't come back!" he called after it. He looked down at the scratched-up Ignis, who met his gaze with a smolder that could only say "...really?" "...Sorry." Arys replied thorugh gritted teeth. "good job though." The two gave an awkward high five and began to chuckle.

Nate had made it to Tosach Town with no problems. The kid was light after all. "Come on you we have another starting trainer that I should be meeting." He turned to see a young girl staring at them with a Ralts. He took out his notes right quick and asked, "Are you the girl I'm supposed to be meeting up with? I'm the pokemon guide Nate Chur." He turned to the boy. "Give her a greeting too you daredevil." He had plenty mind to take them up the path of route 60 right away. He just wasn't at all prepared for the trip back that way. "You two get to know each other while I go and buy some supplies. Also kid." He looked at the boy. "If I find you back on that path. I'll introduce you to my Ampharos' Thunderbolt." He gave the kid a nice evilly sweet smile before he walked off to the pokemart.

Once inside he went about collecting all the supplies he would need. "Let's see here. I think some food provisions will be needed." He had already had his fair share of medicine so rather he was getting enough food to last for a week. It was plenty of food to transverse the path from this town to the next.

Where am I now?: Tosach Town Tosach Town
Who am I with?: This brat and a girl that was looking at them.
How am I feeling?: A bit pissed.

Solana "Soly" Wright
The Snowbelle Princess

User Image

The young trainer expected nothing short than praise after such a flawless capture of her first Pokemon! Well, the Ralts didn't really fight back and ran for a majority of their battle against each other....no matter! Solana and Vixey deserved to enjoy this victory! The first of many, they imagined. Now, with a new Pokemon acquired, the group was ready to travel over to Beocht Town.

Although never traveling throughout a region before, Soly desperately hoped that the rest of Citra would not be as tiring and wild as what she has experienced, but did blame Asta. The young trainer was almost certain different, and more safe, trails could have been taken to travel to Beocht Town. This thought solidified by the fact that the group did not encounter anyone other than Pokemon. Wait....didn't Asta mention that young trainers are prone to become pray for some wild Pokemon? Or becoming forever lost in the white death trap that covered the region? One wouldn't suppose that to be the reason why the group didn't see anyone else....right?

Once arriving in town, Solana knew that she would be parting ways with her escorts. Halston gave the young trainer a quick goodbye while Asta double, triple, and quadruple checked to make sure Soly did not need anything else. After assuring the older pair that she would be alright on her own, they parted ways. "I guess its just you and me now, Vixey." The snow fox nodded before taking in the sights and sounds of the town. The two hadn't arrived terribly late to Beocht Town, but were rather from the day they experienced. And the night spent on the ship was not the most comfortable. Solana decided to find a center for the night and explore the town a bit tomorrow morning.

Soly and Vixey took note of a few shops they wished to visit the following day. Using a few signs here and there. the pair found the Pokemon Center. A warm gust of air engulfed them once they entered. "I can finally feel my toes again!" Although use to a cold climate, Snowbelle seems like a summer dream compared to Citra's weather. The Nurse Joy of Beocht Town greeted the trainer and her Pokemon before giving them a room in the center. Not as nice as what Solana was accustom to, but anything was better than sleeping on that boat again. Now showered, fed, and finally off the phone with her parents who insisted on knowing every detail of the journey so far, Soly and Vixey drifted off to sleep.

The night went by in the blink of an eye and, normally not a morning person, Solana was up before noon. "Alright Vixey, let's going." The Pokemon stretched out its legs before jumping off of the bed they shared. The two had some breakfast where they overheard a few of the other new trainers mention that the route to proceed through town had become blocked by some rocks throughout the night. Well, she was in no rush to leave anyways. Besides, Solana no longer had escorts to travel with, so she and Vixey were stuck in town until they found a group regardless. Worked out in the end. "Now that I think about it, daddy did mention a Gym here in town. Maybe we should check it out?" Having nothing else to do, why not?

To be honest, Soly didn't have an interest for Gym battles, but Asta did tell her that she would need at least four to be able to travel alone. "I guess we should get at least the minimum, right? Who knows? We might be really good at it." Along with everything else. Some would be overwhelmed with being great at everything, but it was just the norm for Solana.

                                                    "Vul! Vul!"

Finished with their meal, the two got up and began to make their way out of the center when they heard a strange accent of sort. Being exposed to a few different languages growing up, the young trainer could make out a bit of it. Help. Gym. The source appeared to be a boy, who appeared to belong to the wild, and a very pretty female trainer. The duo approached them. "Hello! I'm Soly and this is my partner, Vixey. Are you offering Gym classes? I can pay!" Her eyes tried to remain on the female, but they couldn't help but bounce back onto the boy every so often. What a strange looking person.

Ari Taniuchi Pokemon Trainer from Nacrene City

So far, her travels through Citra weren't going exactly how she had hoped they'd go. Of course, she'd only spent two full days in this unfamiliar region. But, she had been hoping to be further along by now, not stopped by an injury or the fact they had to stick to groups.

A nurse had tended to her ankle, as well as to make sure that Newt hadn't been badly injured during his short lived battle against those wild Pokemon out on the route. Besides just cold from the temperature difference, the little fella was fine, nothing that a full belly and a decent nights sleep wouldn't help with. By morning, both Trainer and her companion were up and ready to advance further into their adventure. With nothing in her way, Ari had left the Pokemon Center as soon as she was dressed and had slipped her feet into the sneakers she wore.

The Snivy who accompanied her sat perched on her shoulder, clinging onto the hood of her jacket as he eyed the streets they passed. He'd never seen so many Rockruff in one place, but then again, they weren't a native Pokemon to the region they were from and the only other time they'd seen one was during that fight with the family of Nidoran. It appeared that they lived in harmony with the people of Beocht, happily yipping towards the children out playing or walking alongside those who passed by.

There destination didn't seem to be too far, Ari's blue eyes scanning the buildings they moved by as she searched for the Gym.

What they found wasn't what she had been expecting, looking rather welcoming. Then again, Ari didn't know anything about the Gym Leader or what to expect upon entering the building. Trying to hide the slight limp in her step, her arms outstretched as she pushed the doors open and stepped inside.

Upon entering, she wasn't sure what she had expected, but not what looked to be a small waiting room with a well dressed woman who smiled upon the moment her eyes landed on Ari. Seeming about as curious as his Trainer was, Newt scooted a little further forward on her shoulder, his little leg's kicking against her and his tail giving a twitch of curiosity. "Welcome!" The woman greeted them, giving a little bow of her head as the red head stepped closer to the desk that the woman stood behind. Scooping up a tablet from off the desk's surface, the woman's eyes swept over Ari and Newt before looking down at the tablet.

"Are you here to challenge Flint?" The woman questioned, only glancing up long enough to catch the bobbed nod in response. "Excellent! Now, I'd just like to know the name of our challenger."

                                "Ari Taniuchi."

Nodding, the smile never seemed to move from the adults face as her fingers quickly entered the information in. Standing awkwardly as she waited for what would happen next, Ari waited until the tablet was being set back down and those golden amber eyes were focused once more upon her and Newt. Shuffling out from behind the desk, the woman gestured for the child to follow.

There was only one door within the room, being opened, the woman allowed Ari to enter first before following behind her. The room past that door was much larger then the lobby, a rocky field which seemed to give hint that she must have been about to challenge someone well versed in Rock type Pokemon. Tensing, the thirteen year old tried to recall what she knew about rock types. Newt would be fine, right? He could handle this.

Seeming to sense her sudden lack of confidence, the woman turned to look back at her. "Would you still like to challenge the Gym Leader?" She asked.

Licking her lips, Ari tried to shake away her sudden doubts on this. "Yes." She answered, quickly moving to catch up with the woman as she was lead to the center of the arena. Surrounding them were empty bleachers, nobody there to watch her take on the Beocht Gym

When Alicia saw Cody being dragged, she let's out a nervous sigh thinking that boy was going to be a handful. She looks up at the "child abductor" whom Cody complained about. "Um, yes." replied Alicia as she tries hard not to laugh about that remark the boy made. It did look that way to her even when she realized Cody was in trouble for something. Looking at him, it's not a whole lot to look at except for those ears; she never saw any kid her age or even older have ears that size. Still, she doesn't feel hostility towards him as though she can feel free to approach him. She returned the greeting to Cody once he introduced himself. Right when Nate left, she found it hilarious in her head when Cody stuck his tongue out and said abductor under his breath. She even came up with a joke in her head that may be useful for her comedy act when she takes the stage, 'A boy was being manhandled by a guide named Ab Ductor.' but it could use some work. For the entire meeting with Nate, and then to Cody, she had been very polite and was half surprised Cody was cheerful kinda like being two faced.

Still, she wondered if she was supposed to go once Nate gave them the okay when he returns? Alicia shows off her Ralts and Ralts was acting like a diva towards Cody.

gaia_right Party of 1, but being dragged away by Nate - Area: Tosach Town to Route 60 - Morale: Static to sunny - Dex Count: 1 - Money: 20,000 PD
gaia_duck Team: Cyndaquil
gaia_up Apps: Phone w/ Contacts - Pokemon Quest - Pory-Tube - Town Map - Klinkstagram

Cody does not like to be manhandled. He goes on to calling Nate a child abductor and it inspired Alicia to come up with a joke. When Nate patronized Cody to introduce himself to that cute girl, he done a 180 from being irritated to being overly friendly. "Heyo, I'm Cody! I just started my adventure today!" said Cody out loud. Alicia wondered if someone set off a landmine to get him to spark such excitement. When 'Ab Ductor' threatened Cody to shock him if he doesn't do as he says, he went back to being mad. He even stuck his tongue out and continues to call him an abductor behind his back. He hasn't noticed, but he started a routine that has Alicia entertained. The boy got a look at her--she's cute, but isn't really falling for her. He went on and chatter about how he's starting his journey and asked her a number of questions in which the girl was a bit nervous to answer. He showed off his Cyndaquil first to impress her with his Enchidna Pokemon's coolness. He gives off a goofy grin when he saw how cute it was that Ralts was acting like a hoity toity celebrity.

He doesn't know if he should start the journey now that he's in a group or wait for Nate to send them off or wait on other trainers to catch up? Alicia had asked what was Cody in trouble for and Cody answered "Going off on my own, not considering joining a group. I got a rival to catch up to."

Not wanting to interrupt the children's show playing on the television, Gray kept quiet, hands stroking over her dress and then redting on her lap as amber eyes watched with less interest then the young boy seated next to her. Both Ryouta and his companion Pokemon seemed fascinated by the battle taking place in the show, the man looking like a Heracross defeating the villain with ease. The young woman never understood what kids enjoyed about this, but then again, she had grown up watching completely different cartoons.

As the show came to commercial and the boy finally took notice of her presence, Gray turned her attention onto him, their eyes meeting for the first time. Last time, those blues of his had been concealed behind the goggles that now rested against the top of his head, almost lost within the untamed hair. The fifteen year old was thrown off by his appearance though, those slitted pupils that reminded her more of a wild Purrloin then belonging to a ten year old. Her head tilting somewhat, she almost missed the question asked.

His accent was still difficult for her to understand, but she figured he was asking if she still couldn't figure out what he was saying. Giving him a small smile, Gray shook her head. "I've never heard an accent like yours before, so it's going to take me a minute. Just.. Speak slowly."

Commercial coming to an end and the show returning to the screen, Gray wasn't surprised when the boy and his Pokemon quickly focused back onto it. Perhaps it was like a sibling instinct, to worry about someone younger then you. She wasn't so sure though, as she didn't have any siblings. The only thing she had close to a sibling was her father's Gengar, Shade. But even so, the ghostly Pokemon was much older then both Trainers and didn't have to be looked after.

Pressing her lips together, she had to hold back a giggle of amusement as both the boy and his Aron seemed to shake in excitement as the masked hero drove away from the scene just as authorities showed up.

"It's an interesting show, huh?" She gestured to the television, watching the credits run before another children's program began to play. This one seemed to star a young blonde idol and her talking Pokemon, a slightly familiar show to Gray as many girls her age had talked about it a lot. Looking away, she chose to ignore what was playing now as she let her attention focus for now on the boy.

"Da Gym. Can'ya 'elp me wiffit?"

Staring at him as another question was brought to her attention, Gray had to register that he was mentioning something about the Gym. Did he plan on taking on the Gym in Beocht? Her gaze flickered down to look at his two Pokemon, before her gaze settled back onto Ryouta's face. Had he fought a Pokemon battle in a Gym before? "You want help taking the Gym?" She asked, making sure she had heard him correctly. Someone else seemed to have heard their conversation, as another young Trainer joined them.

Looking up, red orbs swept over the young woman who had introduced herself as Soly. Being asked if she was offering Gym lessons, Gray was quite taken back when the brunet told her that she could pay.

"I'm not offering Gym lessons." She corrected the girl, as she slowly moved to stand. Sighing, she reached up to brush her fingers through her long hair as she looked between the two. Did this mean that she was the only one out of the three of them who knew anything about Gym's? "I can help both of you though, if this is your first time taking on a Gym. I'm Gray." Hands settling onto her hips, she wondered what she was getting herself into by offering to help.

With his focus back on the older girl, Ryouta was a bit interested in her answer to his request. She had sat down with him and watched the show. Perhaps she would be willing to help him. About to speak up, he stopped himself and looked up at her with eyes that showed how serious he was. "You...d-do...don't...hafta," He tried to say, his words coming out rather slowly like she wanted. He was trying to at least accommodate her as best as he could.

When she questioned if that was indeed what he said, the boy was quick to nod in response. Perhaps that meant that she would be willing to help him out? Before he could get an answer to that question, a sudden arrival got his attention. A young girl who must have been around his age approached them and introduced herself as Soly and her white fluffy Pokemon was named Vixey. Was that the species name or her nickname. There was only one thing to do to answer that that he could immediately think of.

Pulling the Pokedex he was given out, there was an audible clicking sound as he snapped a picture of Vixey. Receiving the information over the Pokemon, he froze as another picture of the Pokemon popped up. Vulpix, a red fire type Pokemon? Taking a glance at Vixey, he seemed increasingly confused as he tried to figure out what this was about. Maybe she was sick? Or something like that. Oblivious to Soly's stares at him, his eyes narrowed as he looked back at Vixey, blissfully unaware that he looked as if he was glaring.

As the older girl began to stand up and correct the girl, the boy was quick to put the Pokedex away. Starting to lift Gaidoku up, he held the Nidoran in his arms as he began to stand up as well. Hearing that she was going to help them, his mouth was agape for a moment. She was seriously going to help him out? This was absolutely shocking to the boy. How could he ever than her?

Upon getting her name, he remembered that there was a step he needed to take. "Ma n'me iz Ryouta, he's Kenshi, and dis iz Gaidoku," He joined in, giving his name before gesturing at his Aron, then finally holding up the wild Nidoran. He did this right? He wasn't all too sure how to approach the both of them. Just be nice and friendly? Maybe? They didn't seem like bad people...

  • Leah was happy to see Kyuji catch his very first pokemon, it was truly wondrous to watch! And he did great for his very first catch, that was a great achievement all on its own! And she couldn't have been more proud of the kid! Peanut seemed interested in the ralts, but continued to cuddle on Leah's shoulder, paying no mind to anyone else. However, it was pretty disappointing to hear about the rock slide ruining there plans. "Personally, I'd love to look for some more Pokemon to add to my team and be my friend! But, at the same time I also want to go see the parade!" She responded, facing towards Kyuji as he seemed to agree to wanting to see the parade. His excitement was super cute to watch, she wondered if it was close to having there own little brother or sister become so excited to see an event, was it the same feeling she was having now? Leah practically laughed while sweat dropped down her face when Kyuji stated towards Seth about Piplup giving them all rude awakenings. "I promise she means no harm. She just gets too excited, and that excitement turns into jolts. But I'll make sure that doesn't happen again!" She bowed apologetically, kind of hoping she could train her to stop that weird habit, but wasn't sure she knew how.

    -TIME SKIP-

Leah slowly opened her eyes, taking in the sights of a pokemon center resting area. This was so much better than camping. She picked up Peanut whom was still resting slightly, holding her in her arms delicately. Kyuji seemed to be already gone, and Seth was probably still around or sleeping. She walked out on her own, journeying towards the far end of town. She wished to find that parade, maybe see some of it before heading back out to look for some new pokemon friends. It was a lovely day, she couldn't waste that. She threw one of her pokeballs into the air, releasing Nikko. "Hey Nikko, can you help me locate this parade please? Maybe from the sky?" He would nod his head, allowing his trainer to hop on before taking to the skies. From there, the search continued, until finally they found where it would be starting. He would fly down, and from there she'd wait, and ask around to others if it were starting in this general location. She just couldn't wait to see the show!

WHERE:Beocht Town Pokemon League Gym WITH:Ari WEARING:His foreman uniform

Sitting in his office, Flint had established a secondary base away from the quarry in his Gym some time ago. At his desk, he eyed the badges he had set aside for this year's challengers. He always got about thirty of these damn things made, but never got to use all of them. Some years he saw twelve, others eight. Wasn't like the league required the trainers go get them every single year all over again! No, they were way more flexible than those fancy regions like Kanto, Kalos, or Galar. Hell, maybe this would be the year he actually roots for a kid to win the league again. The last one was…

Before he could finish the thought, an alert went off. Someone had entered the Gym! Looking over at the camera feed, it appeared to be some girl with a grass type. These kids coming in, thinking this would be a cake walk with it being a Rock type gym! To hell with that! He wasn't taking it easy on anyone. Not today! He already was cutting productivity from the mines to help with that landslide, so he was stressed as is. This stubborn old man wasn't going to just let some little girl think she was hot s**t.

As the receptionist his wife forced him to hire guided the girl to the arena, he made his way to the other side of the battlefield and he spoke up. "That's enough Miss. You go ahead and go back. There are other kids who'll be coming here soon," He said as he shooed the receptionist off. Annoying little thing she was. "Welcome to the Beocht Town Pokemon League Gym! I'm Flint, the Gym Leader. Don't be so nervous kid, yer here to have a good battle and prove your merits right?" He introduced himself, reaching down to grab the Pokeball belonging to his Rhyhorn. Expanding the ball, he chuckled to himself. "So, you have two or three Pokemon. I like to keep things fair for the kids and match up to the number of Pokemon they bring to the battle," He said with a gruff, but somewhat eager laugh. He was truthfully looking forward to seeing if this kid could beat his team.

    -------------------

The sudden booming sound of a masculine voice caused Ari to jerk in surprise, body whipping around quickly as she watched the gruff looking man who made his way over. Shooing his receptionist away, the woman's body bent forward to give a quick bow before she was scurrying away to return to the lobby. Blue eyes followed the Gym Leader as he stopped a good distance from her, leaving enough space between them where their Pokemon could battle without risking their Trainers getting in the way of the attacks.

Crossing her arms against her chest, the red haired child tried to show that she wasn't nervous, something he seemed to read off of her instantly. Perhaps he was used to new Trainers being uncertain of the outcome to their first battle? Gritting her teeth, her eyes followed each movement as he reached down to retrieve one of the pokeballs on him. It seemed he was certain that Ari had two or three Pokemon on her, and Ari wasn't sure if he was assuming that Newt couldn't handle it on his own or if he figured she'd caught a few more while traveling on route 60.

"No, just Newt." She told him, feeling the slight pressure against her shoulder as the Snivy leapt off of her and landed down onto the ground before her. He was feeling just as nervous as she was, but the Grass type was also trying to show a brave face as he waited to see who his first opponent would be.

    ---------------

Getting a kick out of seeing this child become startled by his voice alone, Flint shook his head. Reading her carefully, the kid was stubborn and wanted to hide their uncertainty. That was fine. He could understand being young and wanting to stand up to an authority figure with confidence. He was a kid himself at one point, though he wasn't the type who'd go in as ill prepared as she apparently was. Declaring she just had her Snivy, he clenched the ball. "Alright then. Guess it'll be a one on one then," He said as he confirmed how this fight was going to go.

Tossing the ball into the air at last, there was a loud electronic sound as his Pokemon came out. As the ball came back to him, there was a loud crashing sound as his Pokemon landed on the ground. A low growl coming from the armor plated Rhyhorn, she began to move her front right foot back and forth. "As the challenger, you are able to make the first move. Don't keep us waiting long, because Stacy ain't as patient as I am," He said with something of a grin on his face as he awaited the girl and her Snivy's attack.

    -----------------------

Declaring it a one on one battle between them, Ari's shoulders raised in a nonchalant shrug. One Pokemon, two Pokemon, she was prepared to face as many as the man wanted to use. Both her eyes and Newt's followed the ball as it was tossed up, the click of the ball opening and the flash of light as the creature contained inside was released. Having assumed due to the terrain of the arena, Ari wasn't surprised to see the typing of the Pokemon summoned from the Gym Leader's ball.

The sight of a Rhyhorn caused a small look of surprise to come to the thirteen year olds face, before it was quickly wiped away by a stern look of attempted confidence in the fight. Somehow, she had been expecting something different, perhaps a Pokemon only native to the region of Citra. Ah well, perhaps another Gym.

Told that his chosen Pokemon wasn't as patient as Flint was, Ari's eyes rolled, fist clenching at her side. "Alright Newt, you ready?" She asked.

Glancing back over his shoulder, the snivy gave her a smile before letting his attention return onto his opponent. Sign enough that the little green critter was ready for whatever was to come, Ari nodded her head as she gave her first command. "Tackle!" As soon as the word left her mouth, Newt was charging towards the Rhyhorn.

    ------------

With the girl shrugging everything off rather easily, Flint was unexpressive. She did seem surprised by his Rhyhorn, but he figured this would happen. She was clearly foreign and was expecting a more exotic Pokemon to whatever region she was from. Unova probably? That was where Snivy was from, so it made sense. They had Rhyhorns too, right? He didn't know a damn thing, he had never been there. Regardless, the fight was about to commence shortly and he was going to enjoy it.

Giving her Snivy a command, the young Pokemon was ordered to give his Stacy a Tackle attack. Not even flinching as she was hit, the Rhyhorn let out a small hiss as it registered that contact was made. "Alright, let's show her a real Tackle," He said as the Rhyhorn acknowledged the command she was given with a very quick nod.

Charging at the Snivy with a sudden burst of speed, the man's Rhyhorn was practically a tank as she ran at the Snivy. Lowering her head as she drew closer, the Pokemon roared out. This was an attack that was absolutely bound to hurt if it made contact!

    -----------

It was made obvious to anyone that Newt's attack did little to damage the opposing Pokemon. Just the small audible hiss was enough to even register that the Snivy's attack had made contact with the Pokemon's tough armor. Biting down onto her bottom lip, she watched her Pokemon shuffle back as he awaited to see how the other Pokemon would respond to his hit. Flint's face seemed to show little emotion to what was going on in his head as he ordered his Pokemon to use the exact same move that Newt had.

Eyes widening, Ari's voice cried out. "Newt, dodge it!"

Catching her words too late, Newt had little time to move as the large head of the Rhyhorn came down and rammed right into his smaller form. Tossed into the air and knocked back, the Snivy was definitely going to be feeling that attack for some time. Seeing the way he was reacting to the attack dealt to him, Ari tried not to panic at the sudden thought that she might end up losing this fight. 'We are going to win this one, hang tight Newt.'

Taking in a deep breath through her nose, Ari watched her Pokemon as he straightened up. "Newt, go in with another tackle!"

    ---------------

With the girl ordering her Pokemon to dodge, Stacy gave no time. Witnessing the Rhyhorn collide with the Snivy, Flint felt a tiny bit sorry watching the Pokemon get sent flying. The sheer force of the impact looked to send the smaller Pokemon into a state of pain. He was still rearing to go though! Guess he had some guts, though his trainer seemed afraid. She still wanted to keep fighting though. He had to respect that to some degree.

When the Snivy was ordered to use Tackle again, he knew the truth by this point. Her Pokemon didn't know any Grass moves yet. Getting tackled into once again, the Rhyhorn skidding back an inch or so. Snorting at her foe, the Rhyhorn seemed rather enraged already. Just the way he wanted her to be!

Starting to position herself, the Pokemon eagerly awaited his command. "Tackle once more," He said firmly, holding no excitement in his words. With a roar, the heavier Pokemon charged at the Snivy. Her head lowered, she was like an unavoidable engine of destruction. One good hit and Newt would have been in bigger trouble or down.

    ---------------

She knew her reason on using tackle, but she wasn't sure Flint's reason on having his Rhyhorn use the same attack. It couldn't have been for the same reasoning, so was he trying to go easy on her and Newt by sticking with Tackle? If so, Ari wasn't going to be happy if she won or lost this battle. Trying not to grow angry, she watched as Newt's second tackle hardly did anything to knock this fight into their favor.

Watching the larger Pokemon go charging for him a second time, Newt waited for a call to dodge the attack or if he was going to end up taking the hit. Tail smacking against the ground, the Snivy debated on moving off to the side or jumping straight up and out of the way.

Ari's timing was off, making her decision too late to avoid the blow. As she screamed for him to dodge the move again, Newt didn't have enough time and again went flying back as the Rhyhorn's head slammed into his already weak body. This time, Newt didn't get up, meaning that Flint had claimed this victory and Ari had lost. Staring at where the Grass Pokemon lay, the girl was trying to process everything in her head.

    Where had she gone wrong?

    --------------

As Stacy charged at the Snivy, Flint stood firm. Awaiting the girl's order to dodge, he was quiet. Oddly enough, it never came. Upon hearing the loud impact, the girl's voice was drowned out briefly as the Snivy was sent flying. When the little thing hit the ground, he could see it on her face. She was inexperienced and was trying to figure out what caused her to lose. With his Rhyhorn roaring in triumph, he returned her to her Pokeball. "That is your loss," He said somewhat coldly. There wasn't much else to say right then.

Turning around to head back into his office, he began to walk back. A few wise words coming to mind, he stopped. "Next time, make sure your partner knows a more effective move than Tackle. You're only going to chip a stone by ramming into it. You'll need a lot more force to break a rock, that or toss it into the water, use a metal tool… Hell, you could wait for moss to grow all over it if you were patient," He cryptically told her, not wanting to spell out how to beat a Rock type. Surely she already knew, but he was going to attempt to be nice. Maybe she'd come back after toughening up. Leaving, he went back into his office and set his Gym Team up on his personal healing machine as he awaited the next challenger.

Watching the pokemon eat their crepes happily until they finished, Kyouji wondered about the gym leader of here. Pulling his phone out, Kyou looked it up on the internet where he would see the information on the gym leader here. His name was Flint Tavertine, and he's the lead miner of this town, as well as rock type gym leader. Obviously he's gonna use rock types, but what kind of pokemon? The information doesn't say much on him, other than his job here in town. All he knew was what the weakness type for rock types. Metal, Grass, and even Water types. Yet Artemis and Piplup doesn't know type moves yet. Taking a deep breath, Kyouji would pet the three on their heads. Hey guys, we're gonna go do something pretty important. We're gonna challenge the gym leader. He said to the three as they looked confused towards him. They were happy of Kyouji petting them, but why would he all of a sudden? So you ready!? He said, hyping up the three as he would get them all excited. Putting them back in their pokeballs, Kyouji would go to where the gym was located. There, he'd find the building. It definitely screamed Pokemon Gym just by the sheer look of the building, as well as the large pokeball symbol on the front of it. If Kyou was to do this, he has to be at his best. What would Seth do at a time like this? Probably tell him to not do this until his team was strong enough. Funny enough, Seth and Leah would probably clear this out without breaking a single sweat, which kinda discourages him just how large the road was, and how much blood, sweat, and tears that are paved for that road. But does Kyouji truly know that? Right now, he's probably going in thinking it's just a boss battle that he could easy skip his way through, not knowing it's going to take hard work. Taking in a deep breath, in he would go. Pushing the door open, he would see the ending of the fight, as Kyouji saw the Snivy fall flat on the floor and would faint. So this was a real pokemon battle. He needed to be up for it right here and now, if he is to even stand a chance at this. No... Gotta focus on winning, Kyouji... You got this. He would mutter to himself.

Beck leaves the Pokemon Center, feeling a bit nervous about asking someone to go with him back to Route 60 like a little kid needing a parent to hold their hand while escorting them to the bathroom. It felt humiliating, but, what if the trainer in his group wanted to go back out there as well to try and team build? He could have asked around the Pokemon Center, but he would be more sure to ask if a trainer is at the outskirts of Route 60, ergo, great minds think alike. He was hoping to get a Rockruff and Nidoran(male). Beck hurries to the PokeMart to stock up on more Pokeballs and some Potions. He needed 10 more Pokeballs and three Potions. He leaves once his business was done and walks in the direction to Route 60.

Beck pondered the entire time he walked to the edge of town leading to Route 60. He saw someone who may be a trainer when he arrived. He walks up to that trainer and had asked "Pardon me, but are you planning on going back into Route 60?" out loud from a distance of two yards and one foot. He comes off as serious, not nervous, mean, or cheery. He seemed a bit desperate, but doesn't show it well enough.

LOCATION ▬▬ Beocht Town xxx COMPANY ▬▬ Beck xxx MOOD ▬▬ xxx OUTFIT ▬▬

Hands shoved into the pockets of his jacket, the man had to suppress back the yawn that was working it's way through him. After getting his group safely to Beocht Town and making sure they all had a place to stay for the night, Hayate hadn't taken long to get himself a room at the nearby inn. He'd made sure to send a text to Professor Maple, letting the woman know that his group had gotten to the town, and then a text to Kotone, checking in to make sure their siblings had made it home without any issues.

The morning had him wondering what to do now. With a recent rockslide blocking off the next route, he didn't think any of the kid's would be trying to leave the town. But, he still found himself lurking by the outskirts of Beocht that lead back onto route 60. While he hoped none of the Trainers would be dumb enough to head off on their own, he had been a kid once, and he wouldn't doubt that new Trainers wouldn't try to back track in hopes of either catching a Pokemon on their own, or assuming they could find some other way around the obstacle in their path.

Closing his eyes, Hayate took in a deep breath. Apollo wasn't far, the Espeon seated nearby with his eyes watching their surroundings.

It seemed that a Trainer would be trying to venture back sooner, rather than later. The sound of approaching footsteps had both Apollo and Hayate on alert, two sets of eyes landing onto the young boy as he wandered his way over. His hair was a bright shade, looking almost more orange then blonde. But, what seemed to grab more attention was the large, pointed shape of his nose that could have almost been mistaken for a beak. It was rude to stare, but the adult couldn't help it as the child approached him, asking if he planned on going back.

Looking away from Beck, the Gym Leader's eyes met with his companions, before Hayate gave a small shrug of his shoulders. "I could head back. You lose something?"

Curious as to why the boy was asking, Hayate slowly slid one of his hands out of his pocket. Reaching up, he scrubbed a hand against his jaw, feeling the slight scritch of stubble. He was going to need to shave soon. Clearing his throat, he straightened as he waited for the Trainer to answer his question. Looking away, the twenty three year old wondered if they should wait to see if any of the other kids planned on heading back, or if it would just be the one.

At least one was easier to keep an eye on.

Beck shook his head slightly and responded to the man "Oh no. According to the rules of travel, I need to stay within a group if I'm traveling into the wild areas. I was unsuccessful with catching the Pokemon necessary for building my team and I thought this would be a good time to try again." With almost no diversity in his team, he will be at a serious disadvantage if he were to take on the Beocht Gym. His Rufflet was long ready for the adventure, but a type disadvantage could dampen his odds and it would be amateurish to attempt even if his first partner could carry the team. His other two Pokemon are something to sneeze at even with some training in which he doesn't have long to have if he's going to keep up with the group.

As courtesy, he should introduce himself properly considering he had seemed distant during the initial trip. "I am Beck." the tangerine haired boy politely introduced. It would be in his best interest not to provoke the man, as he remains ignorant of his capabilities. He could have taken a trip to the mines, but there are some desired Pokemon in route 60. His goal to catching both Rockruff and Nidoran male remains unchanged. He was aware Ralts also lurk in the area, but if he had to settle for one in his retry, then he hopes it would be a male. Although Nidoran females have the same type as the males, their stat line are good for bulk while the males are aggressive.

Taking a look at the man, it seemed like he was expecting something or waiting for someone, and took into account if other trainers with a lack of patience would attempt to go around as though it were his job to stop them. What if those trainers enter grounds that are sacred to Pokemon or if they enter an area where indigenous Pokemon are very territorial and will attack trespassers.
