Blizzard120 RCCaughtem So as I see it, the Orange Islands may not carry the prestige of a Kanto or Jhoto, but they are more than some glorified time sink for bored trainers or those who know they have no hope of beating Whitney and have failed at being a trainer. " Ryan explains, defending the Orange Islands the best he could. I need eye brows just for this situation, because by God, they need to be raised. "Passionate much?" I asked. "I didn't say they were a glorified time sink. I actually acknowledged the fact that its a good experience. Hitch is though, I have to disagree with you on your assessment of the Pokeathelon. Like with the Orange Islands Gyms, one too has to think outside the box because not only they are the trainers and Pokemon are trying to show their own strength, they are pitting their strength against several other competitors at once instead of just one adversary. Just being able to take on several different competitions and the obstacles that comes with it takes training virtually on par with that of a high-level trainer. Sure, while they don't battle like you and I do, that so-called 'time sink' breaks people and Pokemon just as hard as any gym, just as the Orange Islands do, apparently." I told him. Ryan shrugs. "I just don't see the point or end goal of it. With The Leagues, whether it being the mains or Orange Islands, I can see a goal and purpose as a trainer from my view of it all." he says.

"Humor me. What would that be by chance?"

The experiences you gain on a journey help shape who you are. And as you travel you learn new things and meet new people. And moving on from city to city, seeing all region has to offer as you go, and becoming stronger, or weaker, is all part of it as you either know or find your limits. And they can also put you in the right place and right time for some truly amazing, if not life-changing, encounters." Ryan says.

"In all seriousness though, I agree, but convince me that the Pokeathelon doesn't do the same thing."

"Maybe there is none, but due to the fact I have been a trainer all my life, I have a hard time seeing something like Pokeathelon having any connection to what I have done and still plan to do." Ryan says.

Aden had thought about saying something about that whole "trainers who have no hope of beating Whitney" comment, but decided against the notion. "...You two do still know I'm here, right?" He asked, having finished the sandwiches. "Besides, I have to agree on the life-changing encounters bit. Look at what's happened in this one alone and tell me some weird stuff hasn't happened."

"Yea, well, its all been happening to you mainly...somehow..." I said. "But regardless, you are getting stuff out of it, if anything. Well..." I thought for a moment, crossing my arms. "...at any rate, we may as well call it a day and get back to it tomorrow and see if Aden is to have any better luck against Whitney."

"It's not like I'm walking over and asking for it all." Aden retorted. "But, it's probably our best bet."

With those few final words, the three of us retired for the night...
The next morning, Aden would find that his Pokemon were ready to be picked up by the nurse. It took the night to fully recover, but it was better than having them in I.C.U. for who knows how long.
I on the other hand managed to get up out of bed early enough and started to exercise a bit. Starting off with a few stretches to limber up...this was probably going to be a long day...

In Aden's case, it took a similar time to recover. But not because of any injuries. Much as he didn't want to admit or discuss it, Whitney's Miltank left a lasting impression on him. It'd be all well and good if not for the fact that most of that impression involved having to run from a giant version of it Indiana Jones-style. "Maybe I should pretend that never happened..." It shook him a bit, but his mind took it as less of a nightmare and more of a concern at just went through at times.
Though he got up easily enough despite that, even getting ready without too much issue, his concern mostly remained with his Pokemon. He was glad they were alright despite everything that had gone on yesterday, though he had this nagging feeling this day was going to be far from simple. He got out of the room he had been in and looked around, wondering if he had managed to get up before Blizzard did again.

"Are you feeling alright?" I asked.

"Could be better, but nothing I won't get over. At least, I can pick up my Pokemon on the way out." He answered. "Was wondering if I'd end up getting up before you again."

"Eh, I've been up for a little bit. I'm trying to make it at least somewhat of a habit to get up with everyone else instead of being an anchor here just because I want to end up sleeping as much as a Snorlax, it seems like." I said.

Ryan was already up and having breakfast. Now that said, he still wasn't fully awake. There was a reason to the already half-empty glass of Orange Juice. It was how he woke up in the mornings.

"You've only had one day, from what I've seen. If anything, I seem to have the habit of sleeping in compared to you and Ryan..." Aden commented. "Still, I wouldn't say you're picking up a Snorlax's habits."
