Nelowulf In the world of the sith, under the rule of two handed down by Bane, there were only to be two darths, one the master of power, and the other to crave it. One usually aquired his title by performing a task, completing a trial which would prove one's adeptness, and prowess. Such examples include Maul's month long trial where he fended off droids trying to kill him and eventually the lightsaber battle with palps, Dooku's formation of the CIS, and Vader's slaughter of Dooku and the Jedi order. It is unable to be discerned how these titles are given out in this day and age of legacy, but I am going to say that to prevent too many from calling themselves true sith, there is some minimum display of loyalty and dedication required. Such as Wryylock's knowledge of lore, and Maladi's forms of torture. In the case of Ferno, he gave himself his own title, not by Palps (oddly, since much of his work during that regime was superior than his rivals dooku and vader). When he appeared before Krayt, he announced his name unto the future emperor, and was given a test to prove himself. In a way it was backwards, but it still followed the same pattern. Gotcha. Though I also meant, where do they get Maul, Vader and crap as well. ^^;;

You could probably find something ominous that refers to evil. Hell Ham got his name from barbed devils. Or use a variant of a real wold like Dooku. Or go to another language and take something from there.

Well, There is the old fashioned "in" theory, where if you put "in-" before their names they become words.
I.E. Invader, Insidious, Inferno
There is also the fact that many names are symbolic: Maul- to brutally rip something to shreds Maladi- spin on the words "malady" (illness) or perhaps "My lady" Stryfe- Need i say more? Wryylock- different spelling of "warlock" Nihl/nihilus- Offshoots of the word "nihilism"- the philosophy of nothingness. Tyrannus - Root word is "tyrant" a powerful cruel leader...

There's always Darth Diabolos, Darth Dagon, or Something of that sort.
on a side note, Feeorin's are starkly different in celtic lore than in star wars lore.

I think the Darth name should at least be descriptive of the role your character plays. Here's some examples:
Darth Maul - Maul: to ravage or assault = Combat Specialist
Darth Sidious - Insidious: operating or proceeding in an inconspicuous or seemingly harmless way but actually with grave effect = Political Mastermind
Darth Tyranous - Tyrant: a tyrannical or compulsory influence = Leader and Compellor
Darth Vader - (Dutch) Father: DUH!

Thus, exploring Gunther's motives would give him a name.
Darth Vengeance, mayhaps?

Or Halfrek, a vengence demon.
Or consider not getting one at all, since isn't your goal to have him revert to jedi-ism?
