The Palleaon is just legacy's version of the Executor. It'll be larger than almos all of the ships out there, but the ones larger than it will be few and far between.

Stellar:
1: They call any Star Destroyer-esque ship a destroyer.
2. The Designers all say its a super Star Destroyer.
3. Where do you get your numbers on the Length?

Thats the thing... It's not Legacy's version of the Executor, it's less then a fourth the power of the Executor. It's Legacy's version of the Imperator Class. Even wookieepedia classifies it as a Destroyer. Not a Cruiser, Not a Battlecruiser, Not a Star Dreadnaught. It would literarly take 9 Pelleaon Class ships just to take down DA's ship.

Yea, its a super star destroyer.

Quote:
In an interview for Star Wars Insider 89, designer and illustrator Sean Cooke described the design of the Pellaeon-class as a new way to look at Super Star Destroyers.

Taken from wikia itself. Also taken is this:

Quote:
Star Destroyer classes
In rough chronological order, the following designs of Star Destroyers and Super Star Destroyers were produced:

The Acclamator I-class assault ship (referred to as a Star Destroyer in the Imperial era)
The Victory I-class Star Destroyer
The Venator-class Star Destroyer
The Acclamator II-class assault ship (referred to as a Star Destroyer in the Imperial era)
The Victory II-class Star Destroyer
Harrow, class name unknown
The Imperial I-class Star Destroyer (former Imperator-class)
The Tector-class Star Destroyer
Demolisher, classname unknown
The Immobilizer 418 cruiser (referred to as a Star Destroyer)
The Star Destroyer-class battlecruiser
The Imperial II-class Star Destroyer
The Executor-class Star Destroyer (also known as the Executor-class Super Star Destroyer)
The Eclipse-class Star Dreadnought (also known as the Eclipse-class Super Star Destroyer)
The Super-class Star Destroyer
The Super Star Destroyer Vengeance, class name unknown
The battleship commanded by Admiral Giel, class name unknown
The Imperial Communications Ship, class name unknown
The Interdictor Star Destroyer
Doomgiver, class name unknown
The Gauntlet-class Star Cruiser
The Super Star Destroyer (hunchbacked), class name unknown
The Super Star Destroyer (sleek), class name unknown
The Sovereign-class Star Dreadnought (also known as the Sovereign-class Super Star Destroyer)
The Republic-class Star Destroyer
The Bakura-class destroyer (referred to as a Star Destroyer)
The Nebula-class Star Destroyer (more commonly known as the Defender-class)
The Rejuvenator-class Star Destroyer
The Chiss Star Destroyer
The Galactic-class battle carrier (not officially designated a Star Destroyer)
The Pellaeon-class Star Destroyer

note the bold.

Adding on, the definition of a star cruiser is:

Quote:
Star Cruiser was a term used in a general sense to describe the Mon Calamari line of warships, ranging from Imperial destroyer-sized vessels like the MC80 Star Cruiser and including larger Calamari battleships like Home One and its sister ships.

Its use was similar to the general use of "Star Destroyer" to denote various types of Imperial warships, although most likely chosen to differentiate the larger Rebel warships from the more intimidating and notorious Imperial-class Star Destroyers.

The same term was utilized by the Imperial Navy as well. In this instance, it formally denoted Imperial Super Star Destroyers which were lesser in size and strength than Star Battlecruisers and Star Dreadnoughts like Executor.

General rule of thumb as you go up the tiers of ships classification. It takes three ships of a vessel of the immediately lower classification to beat one vessel of a higher classification. Since there are two tiers its that number squared (3x3) hence 9 Pelleaeon Star Destroyers could defeat one Legacy era Battlecruiser.

Using the schematics from wookieepedia you can calculate a vessel's size by comparing the size of some of its own features with features from other KDY vessels. It's the same system Curtis Saxton uses to measure vessels sizes.

With that calculation the Pelleaon ends up only being about 2.8 kilometers. Almost exactly the same size as the Dark Empire era Allegiance-class.

Take the stick out Stellarmagic.
You are the only one who seems bothered by the dimensions and classification of the Pellaeon-class warship.

PostPosted: Sat Sep 30, 2006 1:40 pm
however, it is still a super star destroyer. They said so.

And where are you getting these schemantics? There aren't any on Wikia, and there is no information past one small undetailed drawing in the comics.

I'd like to know how you came up with all this, when nothing has been really released. Without definate proof backing up your claim, all this is is speculation, not fact.

Wookieepedia has Blueprints

Anyway Super Star Destroyer is slang. Any vessel that is bigger then an Imperial Star Destroyer is referred to as a Super Star Destroyer. Even the stupid Allegiance.

Where are the blueprints? I ain't seeing anything that resembles a proper skemantic.

Are you talking about that sketch? that's hardly a working bluepring.

Anyways, on that very page, it tells you its supposed to be a super, and its a new way of looking at the super. So any arguement you make trying to say its a little weak frigate pretty much get nulled at the sole word of the corporate owners.

Not really.

If you build an x-wing the size of manhattan, and the proportion is still kept the same ratiowise, you still end up with an x-wing as large as a capital ship.

@mi'lord: ban her. she's under a new acct. since that one got hacked.

I saw no way to compare scale with that scetch.
Wait until more data comes forth before you begin categorizing.
