Oh wow! biggrin heart I love how you drew her helmet and outfit! And the bird is lovely, Thank you so much!!
I should probably start listening to French music, and see more movies.. I pretty much only use it when I am in France. sweatdrop Anything you can recommend? Still, I think it's great that you've learnt both of the languages of your country! One day I plan to learn Sami.. Even if it's probably one of the least useful languages on the planet. xp

I think Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas is in French.
I memorized the movie, so if I can learn anything in French, it'd be through that movie. X_x

Orielle Rue: France isn't really that far away for me, and it's pretty cheap to fly there. I've been to France 6-7 times, and my family just bought a house there, so I'll probably start travelling there a few times a year from now on. whee It is really easy to forget when you don't use the language. I haven't had French lessons in five years before now, so it feels like I'm almost starting from scratch. sad I think learning more languages helps you realize the potential of your own language, and it broadens your horizons since more literature becomes available to you and you have more ways of expressing yourself. wink I finished a painting biggrin Ah, right >__< I forgot that you lived around that area. That must be amazing to be able to travel often--and to France! Eh, I'd be willing to pay to fly there, but the main problem is paying for a hotel and such. My former French teacher took trips each summer with a few students, but the whole travel package (including hotel) was around $3k for maybe up to two weeks including getting there and back... Also, very strict tour which wouldn't have let me see the places I wanted to see.
Well, I think that listening to music, watching tv/movies, and reading literature in the language help a lot. Ooof, well it might feel like you're starting from scratch, but I'm sure that the information just needs to be refreshed and practiced. Ah XD I'd love to speak as many languages as possible. I'm thinking of going for the other romantic languages, since my knowledge of French and Spanish would probably help since they are all latin-based. Though I agree that it'd be amazing to learn a language that maybe isn't as useful, just fun C:
The new painting is lovely C: I particularly enjoyed the close-up.

Even if it's probably one of the least useful languages on the planet. xp You're very welcome ^^. Wells, for music, Edith Piaf is really good (and a classic), Corneille has some good songs, and MC Solar has good songs (it's rap, but it's GOOD rap). Movies...the only completely french movie that comes to mind is Amelie, the other ones are in a few different languages. "Bon Cop Bad Cop" is a Canadian film, some of the jokes might not be funny if you're not familiar with the rivalry between Ontario and Quebec, but it's still an awesome action movie. It's in English and French; "Joyeux Noel" is a movie set in WW2, though it's not really a war movie. It centers around one trench battleground where the three sides agreed to a cease-fire for Christmas, and it's really, really sad. It's in English (watch out for the thick Scottish accents!), French, and German; "Le Grand Bleu" is a film about free-divers, which is where they try and go as deep into the ocean as they can without scuba tank etc, it has one of the saddest ends I've seen. It has a documentary feel to it. It's in Italian, French, and English; "Water" is another Canadian film, about widows in India. You can play around with the language settings to have it dubbed in French, and it's a really really good movie, with a documentary feel to it. French is quite the useful language, as many former French colonies still have it as an official language, and it opens lots of doors ^^. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've heard somewhere that Sami is the closest germanic language to Japanese? It might have been another language though, I'm not sure =P

Patrick: I've only seen it once actually, but it was great! I have a big issue with dubbed movies, I try to always watch them in the original language and use subtitles if necessary..
Rue: Yeah, European hotels are expensive! One summer my family did a house exchange with a French family. That was a pretty good way of doing it, we just swapped houses and cars for a month. smile I don't like tour groups, I think it's much better to do things yourself! The best part of travelling is usually all the things you didn't plan in advance anyway. smile
Yeah, it should be much easier to learn a language if you know one in the same language group fluently! I learnt a little Spanish this summer when I was in South America, but I would love to speak it better...
Thank you! biggrin
Blue: Thanks! whee
Sui: Thank you! I am far behind on everything now, my internet has been 98% dead the past couple of days..
Trialis: Thank you for the advice! I'm downloading some Edith Piaf right now. But I have to admit I'm not a big fan of Solar, we had to listen to some of his music in French class in middle school (then again, I don't like any rap...). I have seen Amelie several times, I've only heard of Joyeux Noel, and i really want to see it! I am planning to do a 1-month course in Mali next year, and if that goes well, 6 months in another West African country, so French will hopefully be very useful for me!
I have never really heard that about Sami, and the truth is that I know more words in Japanese. whee But i suppose it could be true, at least they seem to have some of the same sounds.

I love steampunk goggles SO FREAKING MUCH.
I recommend you try drawing them, and then maybe practice putting them on a character.
At least, that's what I think, anyway...
