Actually, I've found that mainly people who are of the somewhat gothic culture, are just more open about it.
Many people are into a "darker side of sexuality" than you would believe. They will just not discuss it out in the open, for they fear that people wont understand and will be disgusted.
People have extremely dark minds, you just have to get them to open up.

I used to work at a fetish bar, and we do not allow cameras in there. Reason being, that a lot of the people who get work done on themselves there have high-ranking city or corporate jobs, and pictures of the individuals can get them fired by less-understanding employers.
That being said, I believe that it's in the darkness that many true natures come into play, when the politeness and correctness of light falls away. Thus, most night people, and a fair share of Goths are more open about what they want, by embracing a darker lifestyle. That's how it was for me, when I found out who and what I am. I was very much an 'upright citizen' til I embraced my new lifestyle and sexual preference.
