Actually, I've found that mainly people who are of the somewhat gothic culture, are just more open about it.

Many people are into a "darker side of sexuality" than you would believe. They will just not discuss it out in the open, for they fear that people wont understand and will be disgusted.

People have extremely dark minds, you just have to get them to open up.

I used to work at a fetish bar, and we do not allow cameras in there. Reason being, that a lot of the people who get work done on themselves there have high-ranking city or corporate jobs, and pictures of the individuals can get them fired by less-understanding employers.

That being said, I believe that it's in the darkness that many true natures come into play, when the politeness and correctness of light falls away. Thus, most night people, and a fair share of Goths are more open about what they want, by embracing a darker lifestyle. That's how it was for me, when I found out who and what I am. I was very much an 'upright citizen' til I embraced my new lifestyle and sexual preference.

gothism is about nonconforming- not fitting in. sex falls into that. there for, we arent "scared" by these alteranative means. yep. i find it... semi-entertaining. i like the extremes.

I thought the goth thing was an appreciation of the darker aspects of life, be it in the form of music, literature, fashion or film. Not about who is the most non-conforming.

LOL, somehow everything ends up becoming a contest at some point. I agree with you though.

I know what you're referring to. A person taking the Dominant role in the relationship and another the submissive. It's more than about just sex. It's evidenced in daily tasks, manner of speaking, rewards and punishment, etc.

Some people can live their entire lives in those roles, and be well-suited for it. I have a pair of friends that live that way, she is Dominant and he is submissive. I've honestly never seen a happier couple, and they've been together for almost a decade.

I find a lot of goths are interested in BDSM (bondage/discipline/sadism/masochism). I fall into that stereotype myself which is what got me wondering why. Maybe it's because it's a darker form of sexuality and we're darker people to begin with--er--people with darker interests, rather.

So what about you? Are you into it? Why/why not?

I love it! I think some people are into it because of the level of trust they must have to do it. Honestly are you really going to let someone you don't trust blindfold you, tie you up so tight you can't move and have their way with you? Didn't think so. Another big draw to it is the control. Having someone that will do whatever you say is fun, especially if its sexually.
