Melomaniacal Talwar126 SilentBlackTiger Melomaniacal All I have to say is... ... ... ... ... Train with level 1's. Never 9's. O_o What he said... Are you being sarcastic? No, I'm serious. Level 9's make you develop bad habits, it's a little hard to explain (or I just don't feel like explaining it). Just train with level 1's and work on your combos/advanced techniques. I was told fighting lvl 7's work best: That way they evade, tech, and recover, without button reading you.

I agree, although fighting certain teams can help you develop strategies, which don't always work mind you, like the toughest team I ever faced was a level-9 Mewtwo, Ganandorf, and Bowser on Final Destination, without items, I won, barely, but anyway, no matter how strong or intelligent they may seem, their still just artificial and don't measure up even to a slightly experienced player who can actually think, once a ;evel-9 walked right into, I forget what it's called, but Roy's charged sword attack, after I had fully charged it, it walked right into it, so train, if you can, with actual players.

SilentBlackTiger Sledgehammer92 Using glitches in the game suck imo. I play the way the game was supposed to be played. stare Well, Wavedashing is a glitch. IMO It'll be pretty shocking if it is kept in brawl. It'll probebly get fixed to allow rookies to keep up with the pros.

Let's avoid this like the plague, and instead address the masses on how useful it is. Wavedashing/wavelanding can be used for moving about the stage faster without the lag you get from running. It allows you to zip across platforms faster, and a proper wavedash from the edge makes grabbing the ledge for a ledgehog that much easier. Wavedashing is also crucial for spacing, which is very important in the competitive/pro world. It can also be used for mindgames; when approaching your opponent, a quick wavedash backwards, and then forwards can make your opponent miss, and then you can slide in for a grab.

I've realized that it is the level, more than anything. Don't get me wrong, Level Nines are still ignorant as all hell, but on Yoshi's Island they always jump after you when they kill you off the right side of the level. I don't know why, it might be because of the cloud out to the far right, but it rarely fails.
I don't really like the idea of turning it down to level one since they basically stop moving. I'd rather have a mobile level five. But yeah, I'll bring it down if fighting level nines causes me to form those bad habits. I can actually see them forming already. I've basically stopped rolling and I rarely Shield Grab... So yeah...

This is another reason I'm skeptical about SSBB, I don't think any of the advanced techniques will be in it. Unless maybe the creators recognized how those techniques make the game so much more fun.

The point for the topic was the discussion on using computers to practice advanced techniques. Your response wasn't really helpful towards that, so that's why we were confused. sad Sorry. And usually the roles are reversed in the situation of Ganondorf vs. Mr.G&W when I'm playing. wink
