Djakovo is almost like the silent shadow that follows Viyana's every step. He is quiet and reserved, rarely saying anything. The fate of his parents affected him to reaches impossible to truly fathom, and because of it, he is completely against doing anything taboo. The simple thought of doing anything that is not socially accepted does not sit well with him, and he refuses to acknowledge that he might someday do something bad. His is very closed off with his emotions, hiding them very deep down and not letting a single grain of his inner pain or otherwise show through. He is so bottled up emotionally that it has affected him physically, his entire body is always tense and his face is always clenched in a look of blank detachment. He has so much inner conflict roaring about within him that he constantly suppresses and refuses to let out that many times, when he talks, it almost seems like the words punching to get themselves out into the world.
Djakovo heavily believes in fate. He believes that if it is meant to be, it will happen. And if not, there is nothing anyone can do about it. Viyana is the absolute opposite, believing one must fight for their own destiny, and she never stops trying to convert her brother.
History:
Viyana and Djakovo were born in hard times. Food was scarce where all manner of rogue lions roamed the land and though they lived near an oasis, the demand for water was also high, and it was hardly ever safe enough to bring young cubs out for a drink. In order to provide for his family, their father employed much of his strength and ferocity often in chasing away other victors and stealing their kills to feed his mate and two young cubs. Such treachery is hardly ever gone unnoticed, until eventually there came to be too many lions that their father had offended, and for once the rogues banded together for revenge. They struck the den late one stormy night. With the thought of ensuring their cubs' futures, both parents fought madly against the band, and though both lions were strong and determined, the numbers of the other rogues were too much for them, and eventually they found their demise at the claws and fangs of those they had once lived with in peace and harmony. In the confusion of the waging battle, the rain and the dark, the two cubs, now nearing juveniles, managed to hide themselves until the rogues had disbanded, and made their way far from the lands in which they were born and in which their family's name stirred hatred in so many hearts. So many young lives lost because Viyana and Djakovo lived and ate. And so the travelled, together into adolescence and finally into adulthood. Never had they been parted from each other, and together they will stay to the ends of their lives.

Personality: Viyana is like the force the works to keep both herself and her brother alive and moving. She lives life with far more abandon than Djakovo, having realized that life is meant to be lived, and not shied away from. She is very adept at taking bad memories and simply locking them away, or throwing them away, so that she lives life based on the good memories, the good things. She has a wonderful and wild imagination, which she lets run free whenever it asks to take the reins and many times she will snap back to reality with a strange little saying, which her brother has learned to use to determine what she was dreaming about. Somewhere deep inside, Viyana knows the evil that lurks in the world in which she and her brother live, and so many times her daydreams will take her soaring over Paradise.
Appearance concept: Viyana will be on new lineart. Her main body color will be a bright orangey chestnut, with her mane and tail just a shade darker with some gold highlights. Her rump and flanks will be white, spotted with chestnut. Her right foreleg will be an orangey brown along with the paw, while the other three legs will be white from around halfway up the leg and down. Her muzzle will be the same orangey-brown as her right foreleg and her nose will be black. Cub. Duzi was born a rather taciturn and silent cub, much like his father, though for different reasons.. Though he does enjoy playing, as most cubs do, he finds that words do little to truly express what little he wants to share with the world, so rather than try to, he simply doesn't. He tends to enjoy simply sitting or lying somewhere, not moving an inch, and letting his imagination run wild. It is difficult to tell what he dreams of or where he goes when this happens, and if anyone were ever to ask, he simply half-smiles eerily like his father, and shrugs and walks away. He communicates much of what he feels through facial expression, leaving the words unsaid and for the other to judge the situation as they may. As such, he is a very private little creature, keeping his thoughts, feelings, dreams, and almost everything else, to himself, preferring to keep his relationship with the world superficial. His is what can be described as the beginnings of an attitude akin to a devil-may-care one, however he gives off the impression more that he simply has little interest in what the world might think of him.
Juve. As a juvenile, Duzi's well known lack of interest in the world has deepened. He no longer does anything to try to keep his relationship with the world superficial, or to keep his relationships with others somewhat distant. Rather, he simply rolls with life with a shocking lack of enthusiasm. He still truly enjoys simply sitting and letting his mind drift off to whatever dreams it may conjure up, and he still smiles that strange little half smile whenever he is asked about it. But he cares far less now, though nobody truly knows why.

Dia's name was quite aptly chosen. He is a highly, if not over, competitive lion. Even as a cub, he has to be the best at everything he does. Second place is simply not good enough because second is not first. Anything less than first is mediocre, and to settle for mediocrity is, to him, a sign of weakness and a lack of standard. As such, he looks down at anyone who is not the best, and given that he must always be the best, he tends to view the world with an air of contempt. Nobody else is quite good enough for him. They could come close, but they would never be as good.
Given his gotta-be-best attitude, he is willing to go to rather extreme measures in order to ensure his first place. His hardheadedness and determination to get to the top has thus earned him the nickname "Dume," meaning the bull. Another extremely suitable name for him. However, simply because he must be first does not mean he will resort to cheating or sabotage of any kind. He must be first based on his own skills and abilities, and not through cunning and trickery. He is a very honest and straight-arrow creature, and would never even start to think of using tricks to come out on top.

Msiba is charismatic and handsome; and the unlikely leader of his little entourage. Despite Kitisho’s obvious strength, Msiba is the only one with enough intelligence and natural charm to keep the group together, and has managed to take over the pride with, so far, no bloodshed. Of the lionesses, only Ngao and Nyonda seem to be immune to his charm. He is paired to the male cape vulture, Werevu (‘Cunning’).

Msiba is a very handsome lion with unreserved amounts of natural charm, able to talk himself in or out of anything he so pleases. He is a master of trickery, knowing exactly how to mask his feelings or put on new emotions. As the talented actor that he is, he can completely separate himself from his shell, seeming to be one thing but really being something else entirely underneath.
He is a rather self-centered lion, thinking only to benefit himself and nobody else, and will stop at next to nothing to get it. Everything he does can be rationalized by the fact that it will help him. He does not believe in fate, rather he believes that in order to gain something, one must work for it. You must take your own life into your own hands, and nobody has the right to complain about life "dealing you a bad hand."
Msiba works to make life better for himself and his sister, and only for the two of them. His concern for others stretches only as far as his sister, Mchawi, who is the single most important thing in his life, and the only one he is willing to be close with. She is the only one who knows all of his secrets and more, and the only one in the world he can, or will, trust.
Though he tends to leave the scheming to Mchawi, his mind snaps to focus at the slightest prompt, and he is very talented in thinking on his feet, improvising, and doing whatever it takes to keep the situation under control. His is an attitude akin to that of a happy-go-lucky soul, allowing himself often to roll with the punches of whatever situation he is in, adopting a "do first, think and ask questions later" sort of policy in everything he does. After all, everything that happens does not happen simply out of fate. Everything that happens, happens because someone wills it to, and because of this, he is adamant that everything that can go wrong can also be fixed.
Because of what happened to him during his time at the Aka'mleli (with Hisia, and then losing his bonded, Werevu), he is even more secluded than before, unwilling to open up to anyone. He despises feeling vulnerable, and both Hisia and Werevu have, in their own ways, made him feel as such. He knows just how easily something can be taken away from him, and he is determined to shield himself from any potential further heartbreak.
History:

The Koza’maisha, a very exotic and nomadic pride far to the south who were dedicated to restoring the circle of life in areas they passed through, was where Msiba, Mchawi, and Machafuko grew up. Their father was from outside the clan, however, and wasn’t infatuated enough with the cubs’ mother to make the effort and join the clan, which was a major and exhaustive process. As half-breeds and fatherless, they were discreetly looked down on, and Msiba and Mchawi in particular grew up to be embittered, angry children, half-wild and separate from the rest of the clan. Their mother died young, when they were barely adolescents, and with no-one left to control them, they started to rebel against the pride’s rules and customs. His sister Mchawi, a seer, was apprenticed as usual with the other seers of the pride. Mchawi discovered, to her delight, that a handsome young male lion, Unyevu, had seer talents as well – but also had a very unique talent. He knows ‘where’ his visions are occurring, have occurred, or will occur, like personal radar. Traditionally, a seer cannot know where their visions are happening unless they recognize the place (IE, they’ve been there before), but he doesn’t need to have been there to know where it is; if he concentrates, he can feel the ‘pull’ of the vision and can head in that direction accordingly. Mchawi’s own powers were too weak and confusing, like most seer powers are: they needed the male lion to help with their own plots to take over the pride and secure power. To steal Unyevu’s particular talents, they blackmailed him, killing one of his daughters and threatening to kill his other two children – and his mate – if he didn’t follow along. Msiba and Mchawi, with the help of the rogue Kitisho, ended up killing the god of Peace, who had been the main living god of the Koza’maisha, but thanks to several heroes within the pride, they were driven out before they could do any more damage. In the end, Unyevu had no choice but to leave with them … his children and mate were still in danger, and everyone believed him to be on Msiba’s side after the event.
Msiba won’t give anybody his real history – only Mchawi knows the full story, and Kitisho and Unyevu knew bits and pieces. Msiba dearly wants the Koza’maisha to pay, and he doubly wants to inherit the lands they wander through; the reason they went as far north as the Aka'mleli was Mchawi’s visions of a talented seer who will be born … and who, like Unyevu, they can use to their advantage.
Werevu was actually the king of the vultures, and controled the masses in the sky shortly after the earthquake; effectively keeping the bonded birds of the pride from finding the other members, but he was discreet about it … he came and went seemingly randomly from Msiba’s side.

Hisia. Lion. Aka'mleli. Msiba is rather fond of Hisia, if for no other reason than for the fact that she is a completely open book, and it takes absolutely no effort to read her emotions. ~ Hisia has also come to mean something to Msiba, though he knows that merely that will not be enough for anything. As such, he will likely forget her completely, though the momentary vulnerability she showed him he could have is likely going to close him off even more than before.
Werevu. Cape Vulture. Near Aka'mleli. A rather close friend now, and often co-conspirator. The relationship between Msiba and Werevu is a rather strange one, where each treats the other distantly, while knowing full well that they are much closer than most. ~ Though their relationship was not that typical of a lion and their bonded, losing Werevu has shown Msiba how easily his heart can be broken. Likely, because of this, he will find it much harder to open up and will tend to alienate himself from all opportunities of getting to know someone new.
Mchawi. Lion. At birth. Mchawi, as Msiba's sister, is the single most important thing in his life. His most trusted and very best friend.
Unyevu. Lion. Koza'maisha. Frankly, Msiba finds Unyevu rather pathetic for continuously whining about the bad things that have happened to him, yet taking no action whatsoever to correct them. He also finds it infuriating that Unyevu is so necessary to their plans. ~ As it is, Msiba feels that Unyevu completely deserved what he got. Death was somewhere along the road for the red seer anyway.
Kitisho. Lion. Koza'maisha. Msiba is a little confused as to how to really act when around Kitisho, but he obeys orders, and that makes life far easier. ~ Msiba blames himself for everyone that died under his watch in the Aka'mleli, and in fact often finds himself wishing things hadn't gone bad so quickly.
Ngao. Lion. Aka'mleli. Meddling fool! Msiba simply cannot understand why Ngao insists on being the nail that sticks up out of the crowd, and why she can't simply believe everything that is fed to her like the rest of her ridiculous pride.
Ukweli. Lion. Aka'mleli. Yet another meddling, doddering old fool. With a little too much luck, perhaps. Being able to escape Kitisho is no small feat. But hey, at least he got what he deserved. He should have known better than to mess with Msiba and Mach.
Peke. Lion. Aka'mleli. That little seer cub. Msiba doesn't think much of the cub, but then again, given that he rather dislikes them, that's no big surprise
Hifadhi. Lion. Aka'mleli. And another one. It seems as though the Aka'mleli is a little... too full of these meddlers. How in the world have they survived for so long?
Umoja. Lion. Aka'mleli. If the heir hadn't returned when he had nothing would have gone wrong. There would have been more time to plan, more time to work things out. As such, Msiba considers the death of his brother as much Umoja's fault as anyone's. Added to the fact that it was obvious that Umoja had next to no experience in combat, the pale lion considers him a ridiculous Prince for a pride of any size.
Mapatano. Lion. Aka'mleli. Mach's killer. Mapatano's face will forever be imprinted in Msiba's memory. The next time he lays eyes on Mapatano, the incident will undoubtedly end with one of them dead. And Msiba is not going to die without killing the one who killed his brother.

Personality:
Ever since she was young, she has been fighting. Her body is well suited to it, as her frame is naturally slightly larger than the average pride lioness’s and she has more muscle. Calling Andraste a tomboy would be slightly overdoing (she's more like a pretty girl with a hidden ability to kick a**), though she prefers hanging with her brothers, and definitely enjoys roughhousing with the guys more.
She is not an overachiever, though she works hard enough and progresses quickly enough to excel in her area of interest – battle. She has few ambitions, and has no problem working under another’s command, though she has the skills to be a leader if it comes to it, and she would gladly do anything to benefit the pride.
She prides herself for being skilled in the ways of battle, knowing her trade very well and finding it easy to kick almost anyone’s a**. She is not just another pretty face, and she knows it, despising anyone who so much as refers to her as different from the guys.
Though Andraste is not exactly the quietest lion, she does not tend to talk all too much, and will rarely begin a conversation, preferring to leave that job to the other. When she speaks, there are times when she uses few words, but gets to the point, occasionally making her self very direct and difficult to get along with. In truth, she opens up quite easily, provided that the other gives her no reason to lose her trust in them. In her mind, everyone is innocent until proven guilt, but once proven guilty, there is absolutely no turning back.

Personality:
Atesh is very much a Firekin, with his views deeply rooted in upholding his duty. For Atesh, his love for and duty to the pride should transcend even his love for his family. He truly believes that the Firekin are an elite group, better than those outside of the pride, but because of their physical prowess and the unity of the pride. He is a very down-to-earth lion, and thus he sees the Rebellion and the split between the two prides a true gift. He greatly admires Kidondo for leading the revolution and for bringing to the pride what he considers salvation from the grip of outdated and foolhardy traditions.
He is extremely proud of being a Firekin, and especially of being a part of his family. He sees his parents as the embodiment of why their kind are superior to others - the ability to overcome obstacles. That their lives are so full of hardships and that they have risen to where they are now means a great deal to Atesh, and he holds both parents as shining examples in his mind; his inspiration and motivation.
What Atesh thrives on his acknowledgment and approval. He does not need praise, simply to know that his actions are acknowledged, that what he is doing is right. That in and of itself is more than enough for him to continue on his road. He is also ambitious, and thus needs little encouragement to progress.
