Personality: A master of the Ayita'Guban (Dance Until You Burn, Technique) Hifadhi is a stubborn, ancient, lion and was once the Captain of the Guard for the Aka'mleli.
History: Hifadhi is an ANCIENT lion, and one who has lived a long, thrilling, but also tragic life. From a young age, it was known by the seers of his pride that Hifadhi would become the Captain of the Guard for the Aka'mleli Pride. He trained hard and prepared himself for the job he was to take over, striving for excellence, seeking out an ancient, exotic and powerful pride known as the Koza’maisha. After finding them, Hifadhi joined them and began to learn the Ayita'Gubdan Technique (also known as Dance Until You Burn). He trained for one year in the Pride, and it was there that he found his mate, Nomalanga. She trained with him, and helped him to learn everything he needed to know. When Hifadhi went to train on his own, and make his way back home, she went with him, never leaving his side.
The two faces many dangers together, but arrived back mostly unscathed, to a warm welcome, and knowledge that Nomalanga was pregnant. Hifadhi took over as Captain of the Guard soon afterwards, and also met with his young familiar, Pepo, and his sister who would become Nomalanga's familiar. Soon afterwards, they had three cubs together, two boys and one girl. Owethu, Tenen and Kanoni, all of whom were healthy and happy. But none were meant to take their father's place, that much was clear, though they were all quite strong.
Ngao was born when Hafadhi's own children were teenagers. He knew, even without his best friend, the seer who had told Hifadhi's own destiny - Ukweli- that she was the one who would take over when he died. He then became devoted to her, helping to train her to be the best, if not better, than he had been. He even took her to the Koza’maisha so that she could train under his old mentor, Nomalanga's father. When he returned however, it was to terrible news.
Tenen and Kanoni had gone after him and Ngao, in hopes of meeting the Koza’maisha and becoming stronger... however, in a rock slide which the seers saw, it became known that Tenten and his familiar had died. Kanoni's fate had not been seen, and was thus unknown, but her body was never found. Tragedy however, was destined to strike again.
Shortly after Ngao returned, Owethu passed away as well. Killed during a hunt on the boarder of the pride, the boy was gone long before he could be rescued.
After that, Hifadhi devoted himself to Ngao, as she seemed to replace the children he had lost so tragically. He grew older, always expecting to die or be killed himself and yet it never happened. Nomalanga passed on, as did many of Hifadhi's friends and family, until only he, Ngao and Ukwei and a few others were left.
And then one more tragedy was left to face...

Personality: A vain little thing for the most part, who speaks his mind and is one of the few who can stand up to the proud and stubborn Hifadhi. Even though he can be very full of himself, and tends to be uptight, the fact is, Pepo was the bonded bird of the Captain of the Guard. He's tough, he's been in battles, he's crafty, and he knows what's what. When push comes to shove, Pepo can hold his own and is very protective of the old lion who he didn't find until Hifadhi was already an adult.
History: Pepo and his sister Femi were brought up knowing that they were destined to be bonded to lions. The only issue was, by the time they finally figured out where their lions were, the two were already all grown up, and the birds were still babies. Still, the two siblings bonded quickly with Hifadhi and his mate, and they stepped up to help them with the Guard as best they could.
That was until the tragedy where Hifadhi's children died... and with them, Femi went missing as well. No one ever knew what happened to her, despite how much Hifadhi and Pepo looked for her. They could never find the girls.
Pepo remained with Hifadhi, even when his retirement was immanent. The two were always close... even in the face of the dangers which faced the pride when Hifadhi was ancient, and Pepo himself began to feel the sting of old age.

Personality: Zaafarani is a bit of a recluse. She doesn't really seem to care about... much of anything actually. Apathetic towards herself and others, Ani would rather ignore a problem then deal with it. She's pretty much a hermit, and a tad anti-social, though not because she wants to be.
She doesn't care much about species, colors... or again, anything. She originally came from a very militant pack which shunned all other creatures, and though she's retained her militant lifestyle, she hasn't kept their view. "They all died, so how does that prove their ideals?"
History: Born a member of a militant anti-feline pack, Zaafarani was born to fight and to hate, removed from her parents the moment she was brought into the world, given no status, and told to make her own way in the pack. The weak died, and the strong survived. When she grew up, Ani was destined to become a warrior against felines of all shapes and sizes. However, this was not to be.
The first problem Ani had was, though she was quite a powerful warrior, she had absolutly nothing against any felines what so ever. She had never met one, so why would she care? She certainly couldn't see why. Then, when her pack finally did go to war, they won many battles... but the non-stop fighting eventually wiped most of them out.
Not that Ani cared much. She deserted long before any of that, going into the wild and becoming recluse, not caring much for the company of others if all they were going to do was fight. After all, why bother standing up, if in the end you're only going to get smacked down?
However, after her long time wandering, Ani began to desire more wild dogs in her life. Eventually she sought out, and found, the peaceful pack called the Peke Na, and joined as a Finder, using her military skills to find that which had been lost. She also met Gin -again- a wild dog from her past, whom she discovered was -in an odd way- her soul mate. The two have now etched their relationship, as well as their position in the pack, in stone.

Personality: Bui is a fairly arrogant little thing, who believes that all demon hunters are better than any other creature, because they're willing to stand up for the fight against evil. Anyone who isn't is a coward, or down right pathetic. Since his father is a God and his mother is the pride's Ardhi, he seems to hold himself and his siblings in a special standing, not wanting to admit that anyone could ever be his superior. Especially not a demon.
His seer ability is very strong, though it only lets him see into the present. Every morning he gets his 'News Reel' which lets him see important current events all across Africa. It tends to leave him a bit dazed, but he's hooked on the stories.
History: The son of the God of Wander Lust and the Demon Hunter's Ardhi, Bui knows he was born to do great things.

Personality: While Jua does show a strong sense of love (He's a hopeless romantic), loyalty and honour... you probably shouldn't let that fool you. He has a major lust for violence, and he'll never pass on the possibility of having a good, straight up chaotic wild fight. He finds this violence very therapeutic. But again, don't let this chaotic violence and often bouts of all-around craziness fool you. Jua is a smart guy, especially when it comes to relationships, and seeing people for who they truly are. He watches for motivations, and knows how to get to people. But he's not really into psychology. He'd rather fight you.
He has a dry, sarcastic sense of humor, and lives more by his own rules than by anyone else's (though he is fairly devoted to the firekin). He isn't afraid to sit back and say "This is stupid, we're all gunna die." But that probably won't stop him from doing something. He's a bit reckless that way. He isn't one for restraint either... ever. And he's his own boss, as far as he's concerned.
...He also loves poetry. Even though he's terrible at it.
History: Born to Kibela and Bodaway of the Firekin, Jua knew pretty early on that his parents did not, and never would, love each other. He sympathized more with his mother... but didn't really like her idea of rules, leaning more towards his father. Who he wasn't especially find of because of how he treated his mother. He was quickly delegated to become an apprentice to Azula, one of the tougher soldiers in the Firekin army.

Personality: A’kingeni would be a complete and utter sweet-heart… except he has a few major setbacks. He is a complete and utter nerd, it can’t be avoided, and it’s just his way. He collects fungus (and likes to show it off) he likes to talk about the strange orange bug eggs he found in a tree, he examines stool samples, and he’s quite proud of all of these facts. Of course, this makes him a little… unpopular with the ladies… But hey, he knows what he likes, and he wouldn’t change it for the world! Except for one little problem. The boy is a hopeless romantic, who dreams of one day finding his perfect lady friend, who will think that looking at mould is the perfect romantic getaway. And he hasn’t lost hope! Because in his heart, the boy is an optimist. Albeit, a very strange one.
The boy is a pure nerd. If he were a human, he’d be full-on-thick-glasses-pocket-protector boy. He's incredibly socially awkward, because all he’ll want to generally talk about are things that everyone else considers… well… not something you talk to anyone about. Except a science teacher, or your doctor. But he’s a smart kid, who will be quite useful because he isn’t afraid of getting down and dirty, and might be a good pride doctor… who on occasion does truly odd experiments. A mad scientist, if you will.

Personality: Atia tends to be snobby and cunning, willing to take any opportunity to undermine enemies and elevate herself. She will do anything to get what she wants, but thankfully these usually coincide with what Maximus wants as she looks at him as her adoptive son, since she was very close with his mother when she was alive and promised to protect her son at all costs. Because Maximus is more of a stoic character, she represents his “necessary evil” who knows how to play the political game with deadly accuracy. Most creatures know better than to trust her but it is known that when it comes to the Pride, she is willing to throw away anything to protect it. She’s a bit of a hypocrite, but she tends to accept this because she is generally fairly unethical, but because of her under-handed nature, she has helped almost three generations of Caesars keep their position, and control the Senate, avoiding tyrants. The preservation of the Caesar line is one of her chief concerns, and she is willing to use forms of violence, humiliation and trickery to protect it. Her cleverness makes her a good ally, and a ferocious enemy, and her age and experience make her very wise.
Despite her less attractive traits, Atia does have more sympathetic ones. She has seen many tragedies in her long years, and often tries to cover up her fragile emotions with her more conniving ones. She had been hurt and has seen many of her friends and loved ones die, and death torments her almost daily as she is reminded that she leaves behind no heirs of her own.
History: Atia’s parents were direct descendants of the pride’s leopard founders, and has thus grown up as a respected member of the pride. Her parents were as equally scheming as she, however his father was executed for his plans which went against Senate Rule, for he desired leopards to lead the pride instead of lions. Because of this, Atia was swiftly removed from her mother’s care and brought up by the Caesar family, whom she became very fond of. In her youth, she was at the prime of psychical beauty and strength, outdoing many of her male companions. The Caesar of her time, Maximus’ grandfather, quickly elevated her to become the Pride’s Executioner, a position she took with great pride, and often used to her advantage. She was great friends with the Queen, and even helped her to give birth to Maximus’ father.
These relationships led her to become very politically involved, and Caesar often used her and her ‘femininity’, despite her position, to discover the various moods and opinions of his people. She helped to plan the young Caesar’s marriage to one of her long-time friends, another high-standing woman of society, and it was this choice that elevated her status from being a ‘meager’ executioner to the Pride’s elder and chief adviser. Despite her generally considered ‘young’ age at the time, though she was an adult, she cleverly assisted the Stoic Caesar until his death, avoiding several rebellions and helping to dismiss many an ‘ungrateful’ Senator, and elevate useful slaves to full citizenship. These good choices allowed her to retain her position as Elder when the previous Caesar died, and Maximus’ father took the throne.
At this time she reluctantly took a Mate, whom was an intelligent philosopher, Cato, whose moving words often moved the Pride to tears when he would make speeches. Atia’s love for him was artificial at first, but she came to care for him deeply as he began to break through her deceitful and spiteful shell that had served her so well in political dealings. The two of them had a litter of five children, three of whom came to adulthood, though they would eventually die childless because of the earthquake. Cato was lost during a plague. These actions would reshape Atia into an even more vicious and spiteful woman in her old age.
However, despite her outwardly vicious political tongue, she remained very close with Caesar’s family, and because of her life-long relationship with them, she agreed to continue to protect and guide Maximus’ paws when he took the throne and his parents died. This does make Atia extremely old, but she is very proud of her position and experience, and she will always defend Maximus, and insure that his line will continue, earthquake or no.
The loss of her children still infuriates and saddens her, which has made cubs a touchy subject for her, though it has not weakened her devotion to Juno and Maximus.

Personality: Psyche can be aloof and cruel, though a great deal of this is due to a curse which greatly afflicts her persoanlity. Because she has been prevented from loving anyone, she tends to keep herself seperate from everyone around her, not socializing, especially with anyone weak who may not be able to break her from her curse. Her greatest desire is to be free, above all else, and she hopes one day she will meet someone who will truly care for her and free her from the chains that bind her.
History: Psyche was born to a family of runts, and was abandoned by her father -she assumed for that reason- and left to be with their physically ill and weak mother. Two of her siblings died at a young age, and despite the ailments of her family, Psyche grew up fast in hopes that she might be able to protect them. Because of this desire, Psyche grew up to be exceptionally strong, despite her lowly beginnings. She took it upon herself to protect the rest of her family, which was otherwise incapable of protecting itself.
Then, one day, Psyche returned home and discovered that her entire family had been slaughtered... by her own father. In a blind rage, she fought him and eventually defeated him... but at a cost. Her father told her that his line was cursed, and that in every generation a child would be born who was unable to love anyone: Except the one who defeated them. Once they were defeated, the curse would be passed on to another member of the family. Because Psyche defeated her father, she became the only one he could ever care for, and similarily, she took on his newly broken curse and was unable to love any but the one who could beat her in battle.
"Through flight, through fear, and through your own fights... you will never be free."
Psyche's father, though injured, fled after that, unable to cope with the fact that his daughter was not only his only love, but would also be unable to love anyone else herself. Psyche, however, did not leave her birthhome, instead deciding to remain. Slowly, word spread of the cheetah girl cursed to love only the one who defeated her, and many came in an attempt to free her from her curse, and have her love for themselves... but none could beat her.
And a pile of bodies is now Psyche's only company.
