Personality/background summery:
Mwali was a lazy, spoiled brat in his youth. One of two sons to Makadari, the king of the firekin, Mwali‘s life was a privileged one. The pride‘s slaves did all the hunting and saw him fed and entertained. His older brought, Kui, was named heir over him, leaving Mwali with little to no responsibility. As he came into his mane and Kui began a family, Mwali began to grow tired of his place within the pride. Known for his sloth, the females of the pride were unwilling to take him as a mate. After a slave hunt with his father, Mwali decided his time within the pride was over. He was largely ignored, even by his family. His father had grandchildren to dote on and his brother had a mate to devote his attention to.
Mwali struck a bargain with a few of their slaves. In return for their freedom, they would lead him out of the desert where he could start a new life for himself and make his mark. Mwali soon found himself in the pride lands, and while the golden-pelted lions were hesitant to welcome him, he was given a chance. Mwali soon proved to have little use around the pride. He was a terrible hunter, he didn‘t know much about securing territory or maintaining the borders. Mufasa‘s half sister, Koho, spent many long months teaching him how to hunt, and sitting by his side as he recovered from his multiple failures.
Soon Mwali started a family with Koho. One of his cubs, Azeze, was kidnapped by a member of his former pride. Shortly after, word arrived that the king and his heir had perished. Mwali took it upon himself to return, not only to find his lost son but to step up within the pride. The moment he stepped into the desert, his father‘s angry spirit took hold of his body, pushing the ‘gentle giant‘ back in favor of a firekin lord. He drove his half-blooded son, Malik, and his companion, Rehema, away from him and continued into the desert where he took a pure-blooded mate and fathered a large litter.
Shortly after the litter was born, the pride was divided. Mwali served as lord of the traditionalists until the two prides were forced into a merge. After fathering a second litter, Mwali left the desert with his son Makaa and a former slave to his daughter, Kenna.
Makadari‘s spirit left once more when Finar-Si united the prides and Mwali was free to return to his first mate, Koho. He‘s hardened up significantly from his youth though he‘s still not entirely the hot-blooded firekin his father wished him to be.
Plots?
♦ Mwali‘s pretty old at this point. He‘s an elder without much energy left to contribute too much to anything too large-scale. He‘d be up for meeting with some of his astringed family. Individuals not seen as family or individuals disowned he‘d not give the time of day to.
