Kenshin was sweeping some leaves off of the walkway when he heard Kenji call him. "Hello Kenji," he said, "how did it go?" He smiled.

"And how did that go?" Kenshin asked. Kenji had been his student for a while now, but Kenshin was not sure about whether or not he was ready to go against seasoned samurai.

He opened the door to their dojo, panting from running over there. He glared at Kenji. "There he is! There's the b*****d who tried knocking me out with a sake bottle! I'll have to repay that guy for telling me he was here!" He drew his sword. "Now, you impudent whelp, you must learn a harsh lesson about starting something you can't finish!"

Kenshin saw that their were some unexpected visitors coming to his dojo. One of them was after his student. Kenshin stood between the angry samurai and Kenji and said, "I take all responsibility for my student's actions. Any problem you have with him, you take to me."

He saw the other man was a samurai, and addressed him as such. "Sorry to trouble you, but yonder child has caused a disturbance at the local tavern, hitting my skull from behind with a full bottle of sake. I wish to see to it that disciplinary measures are taken so that such things will never happen again. A true warrior never attacks a foe from behind, it is dishonourable and unworthy of such potential." He looked at Kenji with a look of intellectual examination. "And such potential indeed..."

"I must admit it is a dishonorable deed," Kenshin said, " and disciplinary action will be taken," he looked at the samurai with a peircing eye, "but my student said it was to defend some people from being pushed around by you and some of your friends."
