Oh, Oni. For the Japanese, I just copy/paste their Japanese first name from Wikipedia and add the last two symbols, which seem to be on all of them. I'm assuming that it demonstrates the "ism" part because of that pattern.

Like, what steps do you take to make the "Character-ism" banners?

I having a hard time trying to find pictures with their feet included. All images I have usually have their feet cut out.
Here the steps to make the iPod-ish silhouette:
1: render out a image of the character 2. wand tool to select 3. inverse 4. fill layer with foreground color 5. delete bottom layer
Then make a new image, place the silhouette in. Add in texts and such. Done.
That's pretty much it, right?
I'll make one and see how it turns out.
