Ok, I think I know what happened. The idea of cropping is to take out a little of the excess in order to bring more attention to some part of the picture (in this case, Celebi).
What I think happened is you selected the entire picture, without leaving a border of what you wanted to crop out and then did that process.
Did I get that right?
