Sirati was surprised by her father's vehement reaction, and she stared up at him in shock. She belatedly remembered her promise to him, and instantly felt terrible. She noticed that Uumi was breathing hard, and she felt like crying.
"Daddy, I'm so sorry, I forgot . . . I . . ."
Reaching over, she grabbed his paw and forcibly tried to tug him away from the water's edge. She was terrified! She loved her father, more than anyone else in the world, and now she was so scared that she had hurt him. She started babbling, trying anything. Her tail was tucked between her legs, and her small form was shaking as she tried to reassure her father.
"Dad, I'm sorry, are you okay? Please say that you are okay. I didn't mean to scare you, honestly, please don't be angry."

Uumi took a few more breaths and followed Sitati away but then he felt extremely guilty about shouting at her. Being a parent was tough, how the hell did Sye deal with the past two litters?
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry." He breathed softly to her, leaning down and lightly nuzzling. "I... er.." Hmmm how did you fix this? "I know a shallow spot. It's a bit of a walk but we could go down to the river there, alright? Would you like that?" That was a good solution right?

With the reassuring nuzzle from her father, Sirati began to breathe again, and she relaxed a bit. She listened to his suggestion, and she was ready to do anything to fix this situation.
"Yeah, Daddy, let's go down to the shallow spot! That sounds great, really, really nice." She realized that she was still babbling, and her small form was shaking, badly, but she had to be strong to help her father. She would never do anything to disappoint her father, ever again.
Until Uumi was better and ready to move, she sat next to him, and nuzzled him with her face, gently bumping her head against his side, and purring as loud as she could to help reassure her father.

He felt horrible, how could he shout at her like that? She was just a cub.. she didn't know better. Though he had just told her not to! He slowly stood and lightly bumped his head in a nuzzle to her small body. "Okay, let's go." He said slowly, still unsure. No, it should be okay.

Almost giddy with relief, Sira jumped up and moved slowly to help him down to the shallow spot. She hoped that if her father relaxed, he might forgive her for scaring him. She felt angry at herself for doing something to disappoint him and resolved to never do anything like that in the future.
Granted, of course, that was pretty impossible, but Sirati was going to try. Once at the shallow spot in the water, she was able to relax and calm down, and it seemed that her father was able to do so as well. She was glad, and she hoped that in Uumi was able to forgive her, that they would be able to spend a lot of time together. After all, though Sirati admired her mother, it was her father that she loved best.
