[PRP] The Meeting of Gentle Souls

"Those Zebra won't know what hit em!" She optimistically chirped, smirking as she led him in the direction of the traveling herd.

The trip there was roughly a ten minute walk, as the traveling band had initially been cautious not to drive off potential food by making camp too close by. Far enough to be out of immediate range, they were in no danger of doing just that.

As the mass of black and white became familiar on the horizon, Johari paused, ears pivoting forward and nose alert before easing into a crouch.

There they were, settling down as the sun set just like she'd expected. Their pelts would help them blend in compared to the grasses all around, dried and wheat colored.

"Alright... let's... go for the one on the end. Do you see her? An older female..." If the scent carrying their way was right at least.

He flexed his claws and shifted his weight from side to side briefly, getting himself in the "mood" for hunting. Moyenda moved his gaze over the herd and settled on the one she mentioned. "Yes, I see her..." Ready? Was he ready? Well, he certainly had better be! "Ready?" he asked echoing his thought. I can do this... no sweat.

"Ready..."

In further answer of this, she gave an idea of the plan she'd instantly started to form.

"Which of us will single her out and which of us will drive off the rest of the herd?" She asked, shoulders shifting as she dug her claws in in preparation for her hind legs to launch her at the prey.

Hmmm, she made a good point. "Well... drive off the herd," he said as if drawing names from a hat. "I can do that!" It was certainly on his list of "Can-DOs"

He flexed his claws and lowered his torso to the ground before shooting off to do his half of the hunt. There was a gleeful grin on his face, a grin of knowledge, of knowing he was actually being useful.

The queen-cat nodded in answer to that, preparing herself... and once Moyenda was off, Johari was not at all far behind. He'd drive off the herd while she separated the target. This was what it meant to hunt in a pride, to constantly have others to help you out. Johari wanted to make sure that she remained an active queen, one that was ready to be there for her people, not at all unlike Upepo back home. He'd make a good king one day, for that very reason. He cared about his "subjects", and though she hadn't known them all very long, already Johari had found herself readily attached to them all, even Moyenda. They made it easy to love them like family.

This was her new family now, and she was ready to do whatever it took to serve them to the best of her ability.

She shot off like a light at his unspoken signal, and though death would come with the sunset, it would give strength to the pride to rise with the sun come dawn, and they'd walk in it's rays just as the pride members had before them.
