"You shouldn't have been scared, love," she giggled, close to hysterics simply from the adrenaline rush and the high-running emotions. "Although, I suppose I cna be scary sometimes."

And then she pretended to give a deep growl and a roar, in a faux attempt to be intimidating. She then licked at his neck-ruff and cheeks and nipped at his ears.

"I love you too."

Njozi smiled, laughing softly at her little roar. It wasn’t so much that he had been afraid of her but more or less had just been afraid of what she might say in general. He was never afraid of anything else in the world nearly except for her acceptance, his need to know she loved him – and she did. That was all he needed, all he thought he would ever need, and he had it now. He had everything now. “I know that now,” he whispered, leaning to n** her ear gently, snuggling his body very comfortably against hers for a few moments.

Then, a soft smirk spread across his large mug as he nudged her once against towards the little spring and the surplus of pretty river stones. “You should go pick out a few that you like,” he said with a little grin, standing up slowly and wading out a bit into the beginning of the river – though it was little more than a large stream here.

"Why, what else could you possibly be plotting?" she chortled, and then waded in after him.

It wasn't very deep, but it was somehow very refreshing and seemed to travel all the way through her from her paws. Unless it was jsut the soothing calmness of it against the rush of blood around her body as she struggled to cope with what had just happened. Her ehad was swimming, it felt like it was in the clouds.

"Oh I don't know...they're all really quite pretty...maybe a reddish one, and one thats like your eyes."

“My plots are simply for me to know and you to find out,” he said with a little smirk on his maw, watching her silently as she waded around looking at all the precious little gems the earth and water had churned up over what was probably hundreds or thousands of years. Even as he watched her, his earth bound angel, it was hard for him to come to terms with what was really going on here. She was his mate, his love, and soon he knew he’d be leaving his family to make one with her instead. His face caught a bit of a blushed hue, although it was nearly undetectable, at that thought.

“Like my eyes?” he said with a small laugh, although it pleased him regardless. He pushed around the stones with his paw until he upturned a few that were colored similar to his eyes, although some were closer to the red that marked her body. He leaned down and caught them up in his maw, then placed them gently on the shore. His mind was fast at working out just what do – but somehow, he’d need to get that necklace off of her eventually without letting her know he had taken it.

He smiled softly and moved over to nuzzle his mug against her cheek, eyes half closed as he did so. “I suppose I should probably take you to meet my parents. Well, at least my father, since mom isn’t up to socializing with nearly anyone these days.”

"Meanie," she replied playfully and stuck her tongue out at him as she continued to wade around.

She'd seen him move about from the corner of her eye, and sort of mused what he was doing but didn't pry much further. If he was upto something, best to leave him to his devices rather than spoil a surprise. So many colours! Ihlo could pick out some for her family too if she wanted to, but taking them back would be a challenge in itself.

She heard sim sploosh about as he approached and leaned into his nuzzle, rumbling at him in a pleasant tone.
"Your parents? You'll make me all nervous now," she giggled, with just a hint of truth in her tone.

Meeting his family was the logical next step...but it was also a scary step.

Njozi laughed softly, licking her ear affectionately as he listened to her. He remembered how she had been when she first met him, right after she found out that he was royalty. He honestly hoped that she didn’t become that nervous around his mother and father – particularly his father, who was the son to the first princess herself. He didn’t know what he’d do if he ever had to introduce Ihlo to his Bibi Syeira – perhaps if he had to, by that point, she would be much more calm about it. Her nervous jitters really were cute, though, regardless.

“There’s absolutely no reason to be nervous. If you want, you can meet them one at a time – maybe my dad first? He’s much more laid back than my mother is,” he said with a little grin on his mug, leaning into her softly, content. “But we don’t have to do any of that right now,” he muttered happily, eyes drowsy with his happiness. All he really wanted to do was go curl up with her somewhere and go to sleep, dream beside her, probably dream of her as well. She was the angel always in his dreams, after all.

Ihlo giggled softly, a little reassured by his words. And strengthened by his mere presence. Still, it was perfectly okay for a girl to be nervous about meeting her mate's family. If they didn't like her, it would make all future plans more uncomfortable to bear. But not only that, Ihlo was just that type of lioness who wanted to be friends with everyone. She didn't like to think she'd offended or troubled someone.

"Yeah, things can go slow. Besides, you'd have to survive meeting my family too," she leaned into him.

Njozi smiled softly as he saw her courage come back out, his tail wavering slightly as he nudged her back towards the shore. They had spent enough time looking at all the pretty gems, and he would come back later for the ones he had picked out for her. With a little grin on his jowls, he stepped up lightly onto the bank and turned his attention on her once more. “Is there any particular time you want to go and meet him then?” He tilted his head with his question, crimson eyes glimmering as he watched her.

He had no idea what his father would think of his first cub mating. Sure, he figured his mother would have a bit of a hissy fit about him growing up to fast or something of the like, but he figured that his dad would be ok with it. He figured his dad would be happy, actually, since he so liked to tease Njozi and Rengo about finding mates or talking to pretty girls. It was the reason he hadn’t mentioned Ihlo to him yet, but he was sure once he found out he’ d be more than happy for the pair of them.

"Oh...welll urrr..." she was flabberghasted for a little while.

She looked about for something other to focus on briefly, not really avoiding Njozi's gaze but the question. When would be the best time to meet his family?

"Well...any time really. I promise to look my best always," she added a little joke at the end, giggling softly.

Njozi laughed softly as she looked around at something else in an obvious attempt to make up her mind. He simply shook his head as he waited, being patient, for her to decide when it was she wanted this to happen. It was inevitable – his parents would be less than pleased if he didn’t introduce them right away, his mother in particular, although he really wanted to save her for last. He didn’t want to know what she was going to say, especially since Rengo was already leaving again and she had issues with letting her children go to begin with.

“Then I’ll see when it’s a good time for my father,” he said with a gentle tone to his voice, his eyes shining with something only describable as love. With a little nod of his head, he turned to look towards the line of the forest where it ran along the river, the leaves of the late season turning brilliant oranges and golds. “Let’s take a walk,” he said with a little smile, then simply fell into step with her along the riverbed. It was nice to just be able to be with someone without having to worry about anything in the world.

It was nice just to be with Ihlo.
